What interesting is that Bk says he will be offering the WM4 (tc sub) case in the future, but at a different price point.
I'm for one is going to hold out for the 3135 to be ready for prime time and then jump in and build a BK super franken (gen insert, dial, crystal, crown, bracelet) with a WM4 case (it maybe a WM5 by the time the 3135 is viable).
Someone over at RG is selling a gen YM dial and platinum aftermarket bezel. I was considering it but since I have a BK YM I really cant jusitify the extra costs.
Well I can tell you as a gen owner of mid range watches ( rolex, IWC's, PAM's ) I found I was rarely happy with beginner watches. I found for me, versions with the least obvious flaws I was more happy with. I wear watches for myself and myself only. I dont think a $600 + super rep or franken is needed.
I never look at resale value of watches. I assume as soon as I buy a watch the value decreases.
Its what keep me from getting one, I really want one but I dont want to puts >$500 in mods (AR, fixing PR, strap, and reluming) when it can be a simple fix from the factory.
you could also try to sell in on timezone. But as said earlier, you have no street cred. So its either going to be a hard sell or you have to sell below what is normally asked.
One suggestion is to offer a 3 day grace period for the buyer to check it and return minus shipping with no questions asked.
I think you are better off looking at a gen.
Check out a used Seiko or Hamilton
If you dont care for used. Look at an Orient, or a Sea-gull.
All make great quality watches around a price point that wont break the bank.
I love orient. Best gen watch for the money. Orient is the largest automatics watch company in japan. its also a sub division of Orient Star, Orient star is very well know for high quality automatics. Seiko owns both companies, but are hands off.
You used to get a 50% discount on any orient watch (except the star line) from orient USA. Which they just stopped this month I think. .
Again Awesome company. A lot of people just dont like orient USA due to their sales practice.
Errrr. I have a ricky & dee gshock that is valued at $800.
A new or collectable frogman Gshock can go for $500-$600 easy....
an atomic solar mudman right now thats around $300-$400
I forget which Gshock is valued at over $2000 OOB
Also you can bling out a gshock with diamonds and such.....
Some Gshocks are made with titanium and gold
There is a jewerly store in new orleans across from harahs that has blinged out gshocks for 10's of thousand of dollars
So it would make sense to rep a watch that is made with $10 worth of parts and sell it for 10x more..
