  2. next time he wear one of his "gens". make sure you quiz him about it. Say something like. I didnt know rolex made that model with XXX. When he answer you just give him a hmmm... if you say so.
  3. Here some quick and dirty pics. Of course its not all of my gen. But you get the idea of my taste. You have to click on the first image to see all the dive watches.
  4. what I did was read a lot of posts. I got a input via pm on what the gurus thought the was a great build. I can afford a gen but it was important to me build a watch that was visually appealing to me. i didnt buy the most expensive parts. In fact decided not to go with gen parts (dial and insert) because I wanted the watch to look a certain way. It took me a year to build it. Basically I'm saying I didnt do a build to impress anyone but myself. This is my snowflake There are many like it, but this one is mine. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me my snowflake is useless. Without my snowflake, I am useless. I must wear my snowflake true.

  6. Im still a newbie here. I read and learn of lot from RWG. Based on the knowledge I gain here I chose the parts for this build. It was put together by pbdad. I think I did ok for my first build out Sorry for the bad iphone pics.
  7. Consider the above story, stolen.
  8. I used yobokies for several mods for my gen mods/builds. He does awesome custom dial, case, and bezel work. He makes his own products or at least he used to. you can go to his website to see his work. Not sure if he is rep friendly or not. BTW his name is "seiko boy" spelled backwards. He is out of HK is I remember correctly.
  9. Its mine, it even has my middle name on the dial - "swiss"
  10. Me too, I currently in search of a gen snowflake to go with my rep snowflake. for under $3 k for a minty gen that looks good all day every day I take that along with a 1675 (havent decided if I going gen or franken rep yet)
  11. I have the gen, I wonder if a rep bracelet would work on a gen. I really not feeling $1500 + for a bracelet.
  12. can we get a better look at the logo. Thats has been tag reps shortcomings

    5513

it could be 1) movement is dirty 2) movement needs oil in either case the movement may only needs servicing.
  14. What started out as a cheapo budget build a year ago. Got built with the following mods -Josh's 5513 case -yuki dial and handset blue sub insert -new eta 2836 -gen 703 crown and tube set -Clarks T39 crystal -vintage casework -insert faded -cgs shaped -lug holes drilled, chamfered and polished -bracelet modded for 2mm springbars -2mm springbars -case hole tapped for gen spec tube -relume in vintage lume -gen rotor I, of course blew my budget !! I'll post more pics once I receive the actual watch next week from pbdad.

  16. Yeah, I'm going with the top also SEL and crown are better
  17. go with a gen or buy used from fountainpennetwork.com. I got some MB <$100. and remember. MB will basically replace any pen minus nib for $85 regardless of condition
  18. Nice watch. But , I would have a couple questions 1) Do you have to take the watch off for 15 minutes to get a accurate temp (ie. g-shock, Tissots, etc..) 2) Would you mistake the min hand for the depth hand and vice versa. I've been narc'd underwater before. its easy to get disoriented without you realizing it. but its really is a good looking watch
  19. I'll buy one first chance I get
  20. I would buy it for around $1500.23 in that condition.
  21. It seem to only shipping issue I had was shipping to the UK
