  1. If this had a gen movement in it, it might not be a bad deal...but only an ETA... http://cgi.ebay.com/rolex-Sub-Style-Solid-18-Karat-Gold-parts_W0QQitemZ300388331866QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item45f08a315a
  2. I think the cartel sells them. I bought one about a year ago. I believe that all the sec at 12 use the same size bezel. The MBW uses a very slightly different bezel...
  3. Good to see you over here DoctorRon! I'll call you soon and we can do lunch!
  4. I am a member of all the different rep forums. I think they all have different "values". I like all of them. Regarding Raffles: The point of a raffle is to make money for some "cause". As long as "some" of the money is used for that "cause" it is considered a "raffle". I know here on this forum, there is a fundraiser sales thread. To me, that is another way of raising money. It is the same thing...on the honor system. I can't remember if an actual "donation" amount was mentioned before the raffle, but that might be a good thing so there is no confusion on what the donation will be. I know many times that people are not buying raffle tickets for the cause, but rather the "prize" they will receive. I am not saying that is 100% of the time, but mostly members feel that way. I know we all say that it is for the support of the cause...but come on... D4ME does sell watches and I have purchased several from him. I can tell you that he does not make much on these as I know who his supplier is and his approx cost on them. They also allow other "dealers" to pawn there wares on the forum too so no conflict of interest there. I hope that RWI does come back, as I would not want to see any of the forums go away. These forums ownership and management are not "transparent" for many good reasons. That is why we all go by user names. The ownership of a forum is private. Unless money was taken out of our pockets directly we should not care about what the money is used for as long as the forum is kept up and running. We all know that running a forum is not cheap and so supporting members are what usually what makes the forums stay running. I would be interested in knowing if the RWI forum being down is due to money issues or tech issues. If it is due to money, maybe another raffle could be done on one of the other forums to help them out. Maybe a public statement by RWI might answer this question and stop speculation...
  5. That is about the only "vintage" style available now. You might ask if he has it in the DG2813 model. It is the ETA movement that is making it that price. The DG model could probably be purchased for $100 or so...
  6. Very nice example! Not many this nice around...and you have to love the blue color! Enjoy!
  7. There is a member on RWI that sells a replacement HBB saphire AR crystal. I think he goes under something like taka or? You could also contact Hontwatch.com to see if Hont can get you one. Most of the dealers here could also probably get you one. You just need to know which version you have. If I remember, they might be a different size/thickness for Ver 1, 2 and 3. Tony at Asian7750.com can also source parts for the HBB.
  8. This is almost to the point it is not even funny! ...but then again...you have to laugh!
  9. Several of the dealers have the boxes listed on their websites...
  10. Gold screws are easy to mode...the most accurate is still the MBW with the swiss movement...
  11. I have a MBW Safari ROO and wanted to know if they all come with the Swiss 7750 movement in them. Mine is about two years old or so. I would open the case, but my watchmaker sealed it up nice when he serviced it so I hate to break the seal. I can't get ahold of him or I was ask him when was inside.
  12. Very nice! I wonder if they use the same process as the HBB plating now on this...
  13. I like it! I might have my friend make some of the stickers to put on the AP ROOs... Now I just need a Vector Image of that sticker...
  14. I've had one of these for about a year now. I love the look of the watch and compared it to the gen. It is very close. The date wheel being recessed is a problem on the rep, but the overall watch is very nice. The only complaint I really have on the watch is the second wheel is kinda slow and is not smooth. I guess this is due to the movement being the low-beat A7750. I would rate the watch a 8 on a scale of 1-10 for correctness and quality.
  15. I live on the north side of Houston. I have lived here 30+ years and maybe only seen snow three times!
  16. What do you all think about the Navy theme that Josh has. How close is it to gen? I was going to get it with the blue leather band. The blue looks a little to bright to me compared to gen...anyone else think this? I have a Volcano and just love it. I find it very close to gen...except the date spacing, but even most of the dealers don't even notice that problem! Here is a link to the watch on Josh's site... Opinions please.... http://www.perfect-hour.com/aap10005-royal-chronograph-ssss-whtblu-a7750-sec12-p-5455.html
  17. 2892 w/ the chrono module added just like the AP movement...
  18. Would you want to use this movement to get the full effect of building the perfect AP rep? I have two of these and was thinking about building something "special". Would you use the MBW or the asian sec at 12 case?
  19. That is what I thought. I can see doing the re-drill for the crown, but the difficult part might be the pushers. Does the gen dial and tach scale fit the rep cases?
  20. I was wondering if a rep dial would fit a gen movement or if the date spacing would be incorrect? I guess there would be a problem also with the fitment in the rep case too? I have a chance to get a gen ROO movement at a decent price. I understand that the 7750 movement is the same size as the AP movement, but I guess the stem and chrono buttons would be in different places? Anyone ever attempt this conversion? Is the MBW vs Cartel cases any different?
  21. I was wondering if anyone had put an Asian 7750 with seconds at 12 in a MBW ROO model. I have one and love the quality. I don't really like the seconds at 9 movement because of accuracy to gen. Anyone done this mod?
  22. It looks like they finally got it right this time. It is hard to tell if it is the tach ring that is moved in at a different angle, or the date wheel has been changed to the correct position. I guess until someone gets one and does a review with an "older" model we will not know. Maybe a measurement of the distance will take care of this question. I love these watches and think they are some of the closest reps to gen on the market with the seconds at 12. A good service on these movements will make them run good with no problems!
  23. Has anyone found out the story on this movement? It does look very good for an asian 7750!
  24. Glad to hear that DW confirmed my "story" about the bands being on the market for a few years now. I also have one in the 19mm version with no band number markings on it, but with 557 endlinks. This is also a stretch band and I think they might be made by the same source, but the endlinks might be a little larger for the gen spring bars. I like these oyster stretch bands, as they feel more comfortable when you wrist swells a little on a hot day. I had not seen any of the replica stretch style oyster bands for Rolex before and that is what made me decide to purchase them. I have the 19mm on a DW Daytona and the 7206 on a Tudor sub.
