  1. http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/148589-6263-aftermarket-bezels-compared/
  2. Same crappy 110 as dw
  3. Sorry I used the same pic twice, I have more but you get the idea
  4. Right on guys, the lume was very inconsistent as with everything else back then, some had the lume exactly in the gilt surrounds and some has a slight gap, they are all ok. I wanted to say something though, this Maron guy is shady. Most of his 6538 dials are redials. He does not tell people that and tries to get away with selling them for big bucks. He should be ashamed. Every dial pictured here is a redial, you can tell by the exaggerated ends at the edges of the 3 6 and 9 markers.. The "triple red is a complete made up dial, it doesn't exist..
  5. Well then maybe he will get lucky and it won't be glued!? Either way it can be removed and a better one can be put in so no problem there
  6. You can swap them but dw glues his in.. I tried to remove it and couldn't. If you find a way to do it it can be swapped with another.
  7. Just want to mention that the macro side comes with a wide angle lens over it, great for getting the whole case in focus but has to be unscrewed completely and removed to get access to the 10x macro lens. To focus you just adjust how close to the object you hold the phone, there is a sweet spot.. Great pic Cpt, it's addictive, I've been looking for things to take Marco's of
  8. http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=74068 Same coronet and font
  9. To me it looks brown/tropical everywhere except for a small ring around the hole in the middle
  10. I knew I had seen these before, the coronet and font even though not the more common one pictured here first, does exist in gen form.. The rest are gens with the same font/coronet as his. The comparison shot is a gen beside his
  11. After looking at the words and coronet closer, they do seem odd, could be an old redial but boot polish would have turned the depth writing off white. The pictures should be a little clearer to really see what's going on, leaves too much open to speculation now.
  12. You won't be disappointed That's true!
  13. He would have had to make the dial, age it, apply the depth rating after all that and then apply amazing looking vintage lume.. And a faded natural looking exclamation point under 6 highly highly unlikely don't you think?
  14. Freddy, can I ask what you see that says redial or artificially aged? When I study the effect, it's coming from beneath like a true tropical dial should, imo if someone attempted to artificially age it, the white depth rating would not have remained intact. It sits ontop of the lacquer right, so it would have changed colour in the process. The pics aren't the best but I've seen a lot of gens and this one screams gen to me but of course I could be wrong.
  15. I hope she's ok, sounds like she is. What a story, I can't imagine what would have happened if she hasn't been there with you.. Might have saved you from a good fight yourself! Give her an extra big hug when she gets up.
  16. I can tell it's a genuine case, I'm sure the 1 is a 4 he just can't see it well but you are correct, no 5508's in 56.
  17. Go for it, there's so much uncertainty concerning the exclamation point dial regarding dating they have been seen on 59's 61's 62's but mostly early 60's. it's tropical too! Good luck
  18. Just want to add that the dial and case are not a match.. It's an exclamation dial which dates it to appx 62-63 so it wouldn't really belong in a case from 59 Being that they are completely diff sales it's fine I just want to inform those who might buy them both Also stated serial # of 129242 is not possible, so the 1 would have to be a 4 or there's a number missing which would make it a 1.2 serial dating it to 64-65 one of the last 5508's and then then case back would be a mismatch.
  19. He will be missed, it's such a shame that it's come to this.. Hope it can be resolved
  20. First is ok. Original stuff Second is good, not a redial or relume Hands are not ok. They look like lumi hands, they are ok to compliment a service replacement dial from a 5513 or 1680 maybe.. Either way not 5508 hands
  21. I have no idea but I don't want someone to be out all that money even if they don't know any better thanks for reporting it guys.
