  1. Well I went ahead and ordered one of these! I hope Andrew can get it out before before the damn CNY! Anyway, once it gets here I will do a side by side comparison with one of my SSD V2's that have been Jackjo modded. I'm really excited to see the new superlumed SD right beside my faithful SSD! It should make for an interesting thread with the side by side pictures. I'll take front, side, back, and dial close ups. I'll also do a bracelet and end link comparison. I hope the rehaut is just distorted from the crystal? The wokky rehaut of the SSD has never really bothered me too much personally.
  2. This watch came from BK like this? Pictures of the bracelet and watch head would help.
  3. Are crown guards too short? they appear to be too short to mod? The crystal height is impressive but is it correct with gen? My SSD V2 (I'm wearing as I type) doesn't look nearly as pronounced as this one!
  4. Shouldn't this be posted in the Want to Buy section??
  5. The Deep Sea should have came with one of the BEST bracelets Rolex has ever made IMO! The clasp on the DSSD with it's easy to operate glidelock type clasp is awesome. You can get the perfect fit and it's very quick and easy to adjust on the go when your wrist swells/shrinks with temperature chages. Did you DSSD not come with a bracelet?
  6. Did the threads on the case back get stripped? I had one rep Rolex that took an hour of hard work to finally get open, I then saw why it was so hard to open (with a rolex case back tool) it was because the threads were totally DESTROYED!!
  7. You better order before "next week" or you'll be hitting CNY and will be in for a long wait!
  8. Yuki is the mysterious hobbit that lives under a bridge....... No, just kidding.... He is a well known supplier of vintage Rolex parts, bracelets, dials, hands ect. Most are of pretty good quality. Although the hands that come with his dials sometimes don't match! (in my personal experience)
  9. I also noticed this dial has 2000m-600ft.....All the others I've seen have 2000m-610ft??
  10. That's what I figured.....Chalk up another one to "lesson learned"!! I can live with the small things but not when there are this many!! Thanks for the replies, it will be for sale soon......
  11. Just got this one in from Puretime today and after unwrapping it and inspecting it I noticed something that I think is wrong? Isn't the dial supposed to say "Oyster perpetual DATE" ??? What other blatant flaws does it have? You vintage experts need to help me out here, is the case back correct? Thanks
  12. She's a Beauty! Awesome build!
  13. Beautiful examples! If you EVER decide to part with one please let me know! I would do what ever it takes to buy one from you! (short of a 2nd mortgage! HaHa) Congrats!
  14. Great comparison, thanks for posting and saving a bunch of members their money!
  15. He had several listed just a few days ago....... Sub's and SD's
  16. Well we feared the worst and now it's confirmed......Rest in peace Robert.....The rep world will never be the same....
  17. Bk just posted over on RG that he doesn't think any parts from this new SD will work on the SSD's of old. They were N00B Factory watches and he says these are definitely NOT from the N00B Factory. Considering the way too wokky rehaut and he said the HEV looks completely different??
  18. No, no, and no... It won't accept gen parts, and the rolex hands won't fit either. Let me rephrase.....It won't accept gen parts with out heavy modding of the gen parts which means they won't be able to be used on a gen when you get them altered to fit the rep. There are several watch modders listed here on the forum and a few will relume.
  19. Do they have any lume glow to them at all?
  20. The power of the REP forums!! We don't like---the watch gets pulled!!
  21. Also known as Katt's watch repair..... I've used him recently and the service was lightning FAST and the fees were very reasonable!
  22. Always nice to see an old rep! Shows how far our rep industry has come. To revive this project would be expensive IMO, are the case specs close enough to our present day reps that parts will fit? If it's an odd size case you will have to modify EVERY piece you want to replace. And that will get insanely expensive! You might be better off to just reassemble it and keep it as a "keep sake".
