Thanks guys. @jfreeman: I banked this in for the same money that I sold it back then. @Neil: That gen BA sure is amazing. Yep... besides the date the gen also has different "creamy" dial. It's pure white on my rep BA. Remember back in the old RWG when someone was complaining about the lack of date on the gold rep version you were selling? Well turns out it was spot on (save the subdial spacing of course). Found this pic of a 100% genuine watch from Ebay a while back.

A few months ago I had a "blonde moment" and sold this watch to a friend. I was also stupid enough to sell my brother's version to another member. But no worries, my friend was nice enough to sell it back. So after quite a while I have this extremely nice and classic rep back on my wrist. To celebrate that I took a new studio shot of the watch. Enjoy!

Man...stop obsessing about this watch already. It's getting a bit tired. Get the rep or not and live with the flaws... or forget about it. If you think that the rep factories are able to ever make this one better I'm afraid you're sadly mistaken. That's how the rep game is. Complaining about the miniscule flaws is ok, but it won't change a thing. They might fix some flaw for the next batch but screw up something much more important. They ALWAYS do this... and there aren't many reps (if even one) as close as this. And BTW... not that ANYONE outside this forum really cares, but the window box is in correct size on the rep. Just do a bit of research and compare it to the correct model (not to the old ones that use the thin box). And before you ask... yes, it comes with both types of bracelets: Professional I (all brushed) and Professional II (polished centre links).

I haven't owned the 4th gen PO in months, but fortunately I still have these old wristshots. Third pic shows the gap clearly. The gap didn't actually bother me at all... until I got the UPO.
-
That picture is definitely of a gen... and has been stolen from John Holmbrook. Here's the URL of the original pic: http://rolexreferencepage.com/Images/rolex...ectionaFULL.jpg The guy who's selling the watch is obviously a shitbag scammer. Beware!

That's always beautiful. When it's about TT Sub even the reps can't really get very close. It's the gold that looks different. I also think the black is nicer than blue.
-
That's very nice looking TT Sub tony. I had two... unfortunately 2 years ago my photography wasn't as good as it is now. I also had the "TW best" model blue TT Sub, but have no pics of it. Both watches are long gone.

I can't say that I'm the biggest (modern) Breitling fan...
By-Tor replied to ubiquitous's topic in The Breitling Area
Needless to say I love this watch (and rep). And you're right, it's not really "huge" on the wrist... but looks quite balanced. For some reason the Seawolf Ti Avenger looks bigger although (I think) it's basically the same case. Enjoy your fine new rep my friend!! PS: Check my review of the blue one (in case you missed it). For some reason it went almost unnoticed here. -
I've owned many black Subs, but I only have one ETA Noobmariner left. Great rep of a great watch.

The good old SMP.
-
I can assure you that blue rep version look greyish as well. It all depends what angle you're photographing the watch from... it's the AR that creates the grey appearance.
-
Come on Armin... it's not that difficult. Just don't sniff the glue and you'll be okay.
-
Most of the vintage SMP's are very affordable. You can buy the gens for reasonable prices, so there's not huge demand for the reps. There are some exceptions though. Buying those vintage Seamasters might be a good investment right now.

Found this from a gen forum. Made by "Jocke", the well known Rolex guy.

I wish I'd find some footage of the legendary "Challenge Cup" between CCCP and the NHL Stars. Vladimir Myshkin was the goalie... and the CCCP team totally spanked the Canadians/Americans in those two games. I'm not a huge fan of many things that come from Russia, but their hockey team back in the 70'S and 80'S was something incredible. First Harlamov-Petrov-Mihailov... and later Krutov-Makarov-Larionov. I think Larionov still plays in the Red Wings (or at least retired just a while ago).

You bought that? Congrats, it's excellent rep! The YM will definitely look good on a lady's wrist. They also make this watch in mid-size, but I have never seen a rep. Make sure you post some wristshots when it arrives.
-
Excellent review and pics as usual... top stuff! You certainly know your Rolex reps. This YM is indeed the best rep out there. I recall this same watch originally surfaced with thick, bad date font. Apparently they have fixed it now. I wish I liked this watch more, I'd buy one. But Yacht Master has never been my thing at all. It's not excessive bling, but there's just something feminine about the YM, I can't put my finger on it.

Hockey is my favourite sports to watch, and besides our own leagues I watch NHL regularly through cable here in Europe. NHL is probably the best and toughest sports league in the world, and frankly I think Americans should respect the sport more. Unlike baseball and NFL stars (that nobody has ever heard of outside the States) hockey players are internationally known. Of course they can't be compared to the soccer stars, but NHL still gets quite a lot of coverage in places like Switzerland, Scandinavian countries, Russia and eastern Europe. My favourite NHL teams are the Bruins, New York Rangers and Chicago Blackhawks. Don't ask me why... I guess I support them because they're all traditional teams. I also like the Flyers and their rough style of play (which unfortunately has been pretty much non-existant during the last years). I used to play a little bit of junior hockey when I was a kid. I still try to play with my friends as often as I can. My favourite to win the Cup finals is Anaheim (rather than Ottawa). It would be nice to see the Cup going to Canada though... but I support the Ducks because of Teemu Selanne. I've met him once... he's one of the classiest guys in the sport... and it would be great if he won the Cup before he retires.

5th Generation is the same watch as 4th Generation. Paul just calls it "5th" because the Omega logo has been moved 0.1mm upwards. It's still the best 42mm PO, but not as good as the UPO. You can read my review of that watch HERE. Keep in mind that my review was written long before the UPO surfaced. Back then the 4th Gen used to be the best PO rep. I was quite sure that they'd never make better one, but they did. The 4th Gen is still very nice rep.

I think it's pretty safe to say they're not fakes. We get all the best reps in the world here, in this forum... and there simply isn't a great rep available of the reduced Speedmaster. And it wouldn't make any sense to replicate such cheap watch perfectly anyway... And there's no automatic rep movement that has seconds running at '3. Quartz is a different matter though... but like I said, those watches look legit... or at least the watches in the pictures look legit. But we all know that pictures don't prove a thing, etc...
-
Thanks man. Yes, I knew you'd like them.
-
The date font isn't 100%, either. I didn't mention that because when I wrote the review I didn't even notice it. Other than that, it's pretty much spot on. It looks like the dial is available in 2 different variations... where the 12,9,6 markers are flat or glossy... but the jury is still out on that. Either way, it's definitely one of the most impressive reps I've seen.

Ok, I admit that green PAM is a challenger. But the Champ is still the Champ.
