  1. Not much to add there. I would have said Nooby and Omega GMT too. I think ANY quality rep with Asian 21J movement is a good deal. The smoothness in sweep isn't that huge... and if the movement fails (highly unlikely) you can always replace it with ETA. I've had some good deals with preowned watches... from fellow members. Stopwatch reset problem... and the "slipping" hour/minute counter in the old 7750-watches is a typical thing that decreases the resale price. Those can (and should) be found for cheap (like half the price, etc). My favourite cheap rep is my Ebel 1911 quartz. Paid something like $90 for this 1.5 years ago, works like a charm. Not particularly accurate, but excellent weight and feel. It gets regular wrist time...I usually strap this on when I go to the gym. And I like to have one quartz watch in my collection.
  2. I haven't liked many post-1911 Ebel models but these look quite amazing (imho).
  3. No, Pugwash's account is set to "Guest". WTF?
  4. I never really paid attention to the "Loony Bin". Why did Johnnyboy left? He's now among the only posters at the old RWG (that place is as dead as it gets).
  5. Thanks. But that, of course, was the first thing I tried. I think I'll reinstall Firefox and see if it helps. This is the only forum having problems.
  6. Yeah, I know it's not accurate and can't be compared to the Link in that department. But if it only had decent feel I wouldn't mind wearing it. Unlike many others here I don't always mind wearing "inaccurate" reps if they feel nice and possess quality feel. I have a fixation with this particular model, dunno why, it doesn't always "make sense"... and I've been considering the genuine for ages. I guess I'll wait another year for the decent version... and buy the gen if it doesn't come out. They can be found at 1K.
  7. Or perhaps automatic rep with 21J Asian? I think the chrono reps with 21J Asian autos are OK... as long as the stopwatch and the subdials are frozen. The constantly running big stopwatch second in chronos look ridiculous (at least to the people who know something about watches). So this could be similar as the "frozen stopwatch" Daytona with 21J Asian auto? hope they're moving towards this direction with the cheaper reps.
  8. Looks very classy. Navitimer is among the only watches I'd consider wearing on a strap. Beautiful indeed. Enjoy!!!
  9. Orange 4th Gen PO for me. Quick'n'ugly...but fresh wrist shot:
  10. I was thinking about that watch too... and the Aquaracer 2000 Chronograph quartz rep. Obviously both of those reps are inaccurate and complete hybrids because they have wrong subdial arrangements... and even wrong subdial order for the quartz versions. If you buy it I'd be interested to know if the bracelet is in the same quality as the automatic version. That's really impressive...and only for that it's almost worth the price. PS: Personally, I wouldn't mind wearing it. Lots of TAGs are quartz and even our members have a problem telling between reps and genuines sometimes.
  11. Wow...a noob who has made lots of research. I'm impressed, good work! The "closed" factory Seamasters can be found occasionally through member trades, but they're rare. However the Seamaster "Bond" and "Bond" Chronograph are at least 95% as good replicas... the new chronograph maybe even better. Watch out... I will make a review of that watch eventually. Here's my SMP "adjustment guide" which shows all the flaws and "easy mods": http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=4509 And yes, TAG Link Chronograph is definitely the top-5 most accurate reps ever made. But the black version isn't quite as accurate as blue and grey "polished bezel" models, and it might have a bad datewheel. Here's more about the Link Chronograph (should cover almost everything): http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=9437 Good luck.
  12. Yes...definitely a potential scam alert!!!
  13. This is what "Clifton" writes: "They are not the same. I know there are a lot of Red Sub variations, but that dial on your Sub just does not look right to me. Any information on it you wish to share? Shot of the Ref# and/or partial serial? I hope I'm wrong, but several things just are not right." I've seen this guy calling out reps on TZ and WUS before. I'm 99% sure he reads this forum and is aware of the high-end reps. They don't identify the case as rep, but I suspect that watch is a modified MBW 1680. What do you think?
  14. Perfect. Absolooootely puurrr-fect!!! Will you sell it for $700... bank wire OK?
  15. Slay mentioned that he doesn't like Photoshopped pics but those pics he linked were definitely Photoshopped heavily (overcontrasted). I shoot pics in natural lighting... usually outside. And often even without light box (using different kind of reflector cards). The pics might not look "impressive" or make anyone go "ooh, aah"... but they're realistic and are kinda pics that I like. For me it's not any kind of competition, either. This kind of pics...which show the watch in natural lighting... are (imho) best for the reviews... and serve the readers best.
  16. That wasn't my point... they weren't supposed to be anything special. Those original lume pics I took are straight out of a $100 camera, shot without any decent equipment or setup. My point was that doing Photoshop tricks like this isn't impressive at all (imho). It might look nice (and sometimes it's nice to play with it)... but it has nothing to do with "picture taking skills". Yeah. It's a taste thing. I didn't think those pictures were anything special. Some of them were technically pretty poor, even. Different strokes for different folks, I guess. This is what I call impressive pic: http://img208.imageshack.us/img208/9944/001sublv16610we3.jpg
  17. Good photos... but not even close to Neil's best stuff. Actually lots of our members can shoot pics in this quality. Bazz, Puggy and many others have shot just as good PAM shots. PS: The blue lume pics are 10 seconds Photoshop jobs. I can do that too. More "artsy Photoshop junk":
  18. Nothing works for me. Not refresh, not restarting the browser. And I get it with Firefox all the time...whereas the appearance is normal with IE. Strange.
  19. Sometimes when I log in I get this very strange font & appearance with Firefox. However the page is looking normal when I launch it with IE. It looks like the hires graphics are missing...and that the text is in lower resolution. Do you think it's some kind of bad graphics settings that I have on Firefox? But sometimes the page is appearing just ok. Anyone else get this appearance? And yes...my desktop is set to 1024x768.
  20. I agree luminous abilities are poor in most replicas. That Railmaster looks reasonable though. 4th Gen Omega lume (the only decent out-of-the-box replica lume I've seen). Can't be compared to the real thing but it's decent.
  21. The previous reports of this rep weren't exactly flattering. Some members reported that it was very light and the bracelet had flimsy and cheap feel. I wonder if this is the exact same watch.
  22. Joshua has this now: http://perfect-clones.com/1068-p-2010.html Looks like the same old quartz rep... or do you think it has been improved any way? At least it doesn't say AUTOMATIC on the dial anymore. I just hope there will be a blue dial version. There IS a genuine version of quartz Aquaracer chrono, but it has different subdial arrangement. The gen version of this particular rep has 7750. Either way... I think must get this one.
  23. Ok... for a moment I thought this was going to be at least a semi-intelligent discussion. My mistake. <throws peanuts>
  24. Yeah... lots of older fans seem to think that way. However the younger guys like me seem to appreciate the "Permanent Waves between Presto" era the most. Some say the keyboards were overused in that period but I say it's bull*hit. Subdivisions, Marathon, Prime Mover, Red Tide, Turn The Page, Analog Kid, Natural Science, etc. etc. those songs are INSANE... and light years better than they ever produced in their early days. It doesn't mean I don't like 2112 or Fly By Night... they're both classics, but they're too simplistic and not enough progressive and ambitious in my view. The 80's era may sound more mainstream at first, but those albums have lots of depth and growth potential. Give them a good listen... Presto especially, which is often overlooked by the "old school" guys. For me "Presto" ended their artistic peak, which started from Permanent Waves. Counterparts was a good album, but generally I don't like their newest stuff that much. In my view "Different Stages" gives the best presentation of their entire career. Spirit of Radio is still probably my fav. song live Works in front of 20.000 people: ... or in front of 500.000 people: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TIClgfjMBys
  25. Now this post made SO much more sense than your previous one. Fly By Night is still quite simplistic Rush though. Listen to "Different Stages" live album if you want perfection. PS: Impossible to compare Moon and Peart. Both were great. Moon was crazy and Peart is a technical drummer. A few cool Peart solos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3TK86bOxrQg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NH_mDJjK4UI
