I dug up this offer on e-bay. Obviously, pictures look fine and maybe the watch displayed is gen, but if you look closely to the last two pictures attached, i think this offer is just a scam. Different crown, chrono pushers and even movement looks like the picture is taken from Carrera cal. 16 day-date ref. CV2A10. Also the last pic states there should have been some gems - 11 diamonds. The only thing that depends, is what you do actually like. Buy any watch you have fallen in love with. I could personaly live also with some cheaper beauties. Omega Aqua Terra Golf edition is awesome, feels great on the wrist, clear caseback and improved shock resistance (once in the future, if i will not buy IWC 3714-38, i will go gen with Aqua Terra). Stopped by AD month ago, and it is currently going for 4.050,- EUR new, but if you talk a while with dealer, you can push it down to 3.550-3.650. Used on uhrforum.de has been sold few weeks ago for 2.300,- EUR (i missed this one). Pretty good price for limited edition with Co-Axial movement. Double the price and you are up on IWC Portuguese Chrono ref. 3714-38 or newer 3714-47 (lovely but for that price just too expensive for IWC's version of 7750 movement - cal. 79350). I love Portu, but not for the price they are selling it. Imho not worth 7.050,- EUR new. But if you are lucky, you can get nice used for 4.600-5.200,- EUR. Tag Heuer cal. 1887 is also nice choice (no idea what the current prices are), but i do not like the lugs shape - does not fit my 6,75" wrist. Next choice is some vintage Rolex Sub with superior and reliable cal 3135. But if you really want to invest like £5k, i would look for something different. I have seen lot of watches, but never seen anything as precise as gen Ulysse Nardin. That watch looks in person unbelievably. It is much better finished than anything other. On the other hand, UN is not everyones cup of tea. If you are a chrono lover, ask your AD to show you SS version of Ulysse Nardin Maxi Marine Diver Chronograph. That watch looks just awesome. But like I said, i could live happily with Aqua Terra Golf

As long as those movements last only one year unmodded - depends. I would say no, unless tou want to add few jewels or go gen with movement. But if you want to wear it occasionaly, not on a daily basis, it should survive for a while. I am still waiting for some updates from people who asked domi to make his three jewel mod, if this only makes the movement more reliable or solves sec@6 problem. But nobody with three jewel mod seems to wear 3714 on a daily basis.

This is not accurate. You cannot compare reps to cars. And there is also difference if you compare US to EU regulations. EU regulations are sometimes weird. For example if you have a car, you can basicaly exchange any part that is allowed by TUV or so in your country, but you cannot tune your car, exchange stock brakes for more powerful, even if it would make the car safer. On the other hand if you damage your engine and swap it privately, and then in the future you will need any part, Mercedes would ban you for 6 months just because VIN does not match with your engine number. Moreover if you need a fuel distributor for Mercedes 300 SL, it costs 400 EUR whilst the same fuel distributor for limousine costs only 70 EUR. This is only compared to swaping parts and putting them together. The car stays still the same. But there are also some replica cars - usually oldtimers. About a month ago, Mercedes claimed damages and right to destroy any replica out there, and ... they won. After the judgement, they destroyed defendants Mercedes 300SL... poor guy... The worst is, that this judgement has become precedent and is now part of EU case law. And the same applies to our beloved reps as well. The possession of rep itself is not a crime untill the gen product is worth more than 266 EUR (this applies in my country). And they do not make difference between making/selling/possession. And the weird thing is, that that rep itself is not the problem. The problem are the scripts and its design. I have no idea if you have in US synonyms for these, but by possessing a replicated product you do infringe the right to design and the right to trademark. And it does not matter if you are passing these as gen or not. And that is why i stated, that in my country i would never step in front of judge with such a thing. Moreover (back to this thread) if there are some other means of communication. You can always stay polite and fair in communication to others, or you can choose upper stated way of communicating to other members if you loose your head and start homecalling, sending numerous e-mails, PMs, bring the communication public, etc. I am holding no ones side. It is just my personal opinion. I always thought and always will that Mike is honorable member. I do not know him personally, but still do trust him. He was always communicating, helping other members with technical issues, so when he stopped communicating for a while and posted about it, he probably needed some time and i do understand this. On the other hand, if he had 17 customers waiting, sending 17 emails about what is currently going on and what should they expect in the near future, was not that much time taking. At this point, bearing in mind what has happened past last few months, i think it is time to move on and accept what happened, forgive the wrongs and get back everything to the old rails. I think it is not the time to burn Mike right now for it. All this flaming will not help him. Everyone should at least try to understand how does he feel right now about the fact, that all the great things he did seem to be forgotten. I think that bringing out the anger and private messages is not the point of this thread. Time to move on for me.

Sorry man, but i am attorney and I would never step in front of the judge as a plaintiff and start with "Honourable Mr./Mrs. Justice XY, few months ago I sent defendant few of my replica watches...". The crown deffinitely is newer, but the line bordering IWC script which looks like rugby ball seems to be beveled under W. The line is not continuous. Also the Probus Scafusia script - font is slightly bigger and wider than it should be, which results that the circle comming from I to C is too flat. But maybe it is just me who sees it. Overall the new crown deffinitely is an improvement and is still better than the old water resistance fish. And update to inner tachy ring - seems to be the same as on the previous versions, so no improvement here.

Why? 1. Bezel screws positioned at 10-20-30-40-50-60. Gens are at 5-15-25-35-45-55. 2. Lume is off. If you compare lume on the hands and on the stick markers, they are of different shade/colour. Moreover the inner tachy ring dots are dots, not squares - obvious flaw. 3. Caseback engravings not as deep as on the gen. Also the Breitling logo is off. Gen is simply beautiful are more detailed/crisp. 4. Rounded edges on the dial numbers. Gens have sharp edges and different nr. 4. As a rep it is nice V2. But the seller is passing it as authentic timepiece without box and papers with stock rep rubber band. I asked him if he is aware that he is selling rep (as he has 657 positive feedbacks). I recommended him to visit local watchsmith for the confirmation. I will wait for his answer and if he will flame me or will not delete this, he will get reported.

That would be very helpful. Basicaly V1 was released few years ago and the obvious flaw was polished caseback, whilst gen should have it brushed. Also AR on the crystal was missing and the inner tachy ring was of bad shape and the crown featured water resistance mark (fisk) just like the early gen versions. V2 was aired few months ago but i have seen only grey version. V2 had all these updates. I was little bit ironic in my post, as i think that V2 and V3 is the same. I do not see any difference. So if you have some of these, pics would help. I am not 3714 expert though, so other maybe other more experienced guys (i.e. concepta) will add their 0.02c.

I was derping around the TD's to find out what is new, when suddenly..... IWC Portuguese Chrono V3 (3714-47) ! I missed the V2 though... To be honest, i saw a grey dial 3714 that tried to act like a V2 but was terrible. And now we have a V3: http://timeshops.net/product.php?id_product=13863 The only updates I see is the new crown, whilst completely off (Probus Scafusia logo on the crown is really bad), brushed caseback (looks ok to me), and the new tachy ring, looks that shape seems to be ok, but white markers should have been longer and "touch" the dial. And when you look at the specs, i still do not understand what do they mean by "English flag". And gentleman, behold! It houses CAREFULLY SELECTED 7750 MOVEMENT. QUALITY HAS IMPROVED THAN BEFORE. I have always been in love with 3714, but it looks like the sec@6 problem can be solved only by the three jewel mod currently offered by domi, but mike stated somewhere that he is working on his own solution as well, or by swaping rep movement for gen. Overall nice rep, but V3 really? Gen dial with the new style 4 and cut off 6 is simply beatiful. And sourcing gen parts for franken is nowadays almost impossible and when you are lucky, movement 600-750 EUR, gen dial 150 EUR (old style, used)-350 EUR (new style, impossible to find), crown 100-150 EUR and you have to shorten chrono pushers, duble AR the crystal (stock single looks just too cheap) and the last gen tachy ring for sale has been seen like 3 years ago. And if you are lucky, you are somewhere at 1500 EUR with stock rep strap (gen strap add 180-350 EUR). I love the 3714's style, and would buy it as a gen if i had funds, but as a rep or franken project, it ain't deal maker for me. At the franken price I will rather add 700 EUR and buy new Omega Aqua Terra Golf edition with Co-Axial movement and transparent caseback...(saw used for 2200 EUR and missed the sale.... AD's are selling these here in Slovakia for 3500-4050 EUR)

I still think that MD is a honorable member. There is lot of great work that he has done and lot of help he has provided to members in repair section. I still do believe, that Mike is completely different story compared to Texski who just run away and [censored] many guys here. It is true, that sometimes the life is not as flawless as we may want and i agree that such situations can f..k up anyone. But on the other hand i do not agree, that Mike was passive in lets say last 3 months. I read many posts and shouts about the same thing "where is MD...Has anyone seen MD lately...MD got away?... etc.". All those posts got at least short status update about what is currently going on with him by MD. So i cannot agree that he was not responding. Saw many posts past last three months, just search for them. It would all have been easier if MD would have his own dealers section, where he could post some status updates that would not get lost in time and where he could post some "important notices, status updates, waiting lists or whatever". But MD does not have his own section (thus he should have contacted admins already and at least ask for it) and those posts got lost and many members were not reading them either. But if there are some members waiting like more than 4 months (some say it is 6 months already), being on MD's place i would have contacted all the members with ongoing bussiness who are waiting more than 3-4 months, as they deserve it (at least for patience), and let them know what is going on (and maybe getting this thread pinned for some time until Mike gets in the bussiness again here in general discussion would help). And yeah Mike people here are/were patient for a long time but i do understand how are they feeling right now, so maybe a few sentences to your customers would help a lot. Get over those unlucky chapters in your life soon. We are with you and hope to see you back in bussiness again

I absolutely do agree with you. I only couldn't decide wheather i like more the old classy 16610 or the newer fat lug ceramic 116610. The truth is, that there is no proper 116610LN rep. Both BP or noob v2 have some odd flaws and they are not even close to gen. TC's 16610LV is the best gen like Sub out there and that is why i decided to stay classy and enjoy 16610's matured style :-) And all the current updates like DWO V3, V4 clasp (which is also nicer than the one on the new style 97200), TC's movement with H4 cannon pinion...those are the things that persuaded me to buy TC Sub. At this point i think that i am going to contact T soon.
