  1. You mean if it is possible to put gen movement into rep case? As i do remember this is possible, but it is not a direct swap. You have to redrill the case to lower the profile as gen movement is a bit thicker than rep. But use search instead maybe i am wrong There is so much written about this. Moreover concepta was selling two gen movements in sales area few days ago.
  2. So many of them BMW 328 Mille Miglia BMW 327 BMW 507 Fiat 2400 Dino Duesenberg SJ Jaguar F Type Lamborghini Aventador Mercedes-Benz 540k Cabrio A Bugatti Type 57Sc 1958 Corvette C1 Peugeot 907 Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spider and many others like already mentioned Ferrari 288 GTO, Mercedes 300 SL and others...
  3. LV insert colors vary from dark green, olive green to poisonous green. Taking indoor pics with flash is not the best idea as the real color may be different. Try to take a daylight shot. From the pic above, i would say this one looks like 2005 and up insert but I am not 100% sure. Please refer to Rolex Submariner Story book. It may help you
  4. Lol. The third "Who has the best Sub" thread this week. Srsly guys have a look at Rolex area and use the search function top right on the page. As i remember the first pinned post in Rolex area has circa 6 pages of useful informations about 116610. If you have no time for reading, just write Andrew "Hello Andrew. Do you have BP 116610 Sub in stock? I would like to place order." As i know Andrew he will respond in few hours with all the details. BP Sub is overall better and cheaper (and available) than Noob Sub. If you want to upgrade BP Sub with noob clasp, just ask your TD if he could find you one or have a look at trades section.
  5. Agree with you cougar1. Initial pics were really bad compared to what grimreaper posted. I am pretty amazed by the real thing. While AR coating is missing or is rather inferior, overall build quality is a little surprise for me. Dial quality and dial printing looks amazing. Side shots show how really good the dial printing is and i like those brushed indices as well (at least from the pics they look like brushed). Bracelet looks fine as well as clasp and etchings and omega logo on it. It is not that bad after all. On the other hand having it serviced may help a lot. Thanks for taking the time and postin these pics grimreaper Personaly i will wait a while to see what angus and his team will bring. If they will release just 38,5 mm AT, maybe i will consider it, but will rather buy the Golf AT and suit it with gen black leather strap. Slight mods like AR coating will bring it to whole new level. But it is shame what happened to AR coating. Without it the more reasonable price would be anything ranged 238 - 278 USD.
  6. This is what i was afraid of. It is disapointment that they forgot AR coated crystal. What can you say...BP factory... Anyways thanks for posting your thoughts grimreaper. Wear it well. Hope to see some wrist shots or eye candy soon
  7. Exactly! Will keep an eye on grimreaper's AT as well.
  8. Indeed! I was really about to place an order, because I really liked this rep, but when i saw the live pics, i thought it was a bad joke or what. It looks fine at first sight, but considering this is BP model with used ETA and missing AR for 328 USD? Chronometer with date without any other complications ... Lol ! Even if this one was for 238 USD i would rather buy SuperOcean 42. For the price stated i would expect really good AR for this one. Aqua Terra is imho one of the watches, where missing AR makes the difference between "super rep" and "just another rep". I think we should wait few months to see what Angus and his "maker" will come out. On the other hand many thanks cougar1 for making this thread (and also those one RWI and RG). I am glad that at this point we have at least one maker who makes at least decent 41,5 mm Aqua Terra And i hope that Angus and his "maker" will nail it with a great rep. Otherwise i will stick to Seagull's homages
  9. Some QC pics are up on Josh's site http://www.p-cls.com/omat41104-aqua-terra-auto-ssss-black-swiss-2836-p-14918.html Ain't the best pics out there but will give you idea about the real thing. I wonder what happened to "highest clarity saphire with AR coating" Bad pics?
  10. +1 Imho font is correct here and we are looking on a very nice rep here guys. Lume is great, dial printing looks fine as well, omega logo on the dial, gently brushed steel markers, everything looks fine to me. I see only one flaw: 1. If you look closely to 8500 movement markings, the script ADJUSTED TO is misspelled as ADJUSTE DTO. On the other hand rep movement will never look like gen 8500 so this is OK even for OCD guy like me Moreover it is swiss 2836-2 movement so it should be easier to service. Some say on the RWI and RG that the clasp code on the rep is 1587/693 instead of 1587/986. I think this is the difference between the model as well. Here is a bracelet sold on WUS and the clasp code is 1587/693 so it seems to be correct as well (i tried to make it more visible by PS): Also dunno if this is a flaw or just a difference between versions like in DWO case or clasp codes, but some of the Aqua Terra Golf versions have one of the endlinks etched. However endlink on the particular bracelet above is not etched 985. These are the only flaws i can see. Moreover they are visible only if you take your watch down from your wrist and let somebody closely inspect it. For 99,9 % of time if you keep it on the wrist, clasp, dial, logo, lume and finish make it a super rep. Imho this one is a super rep as missing endlink etching, 1587/693 clasp code and tinny DWO seem to be correct.
  11. I am looking at this one http://www.ttw888.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=35_66&products_id=11278 ... and i am pretty excited. This is exactly what i begged for. Love the Golf Limited version. Overall it looks fine. But yeah, the date font maybe should be a little bolder, but i.e. compared it to this gen, it looks like the thin font may be ok as well. Do you think there are two DWO versions for gens or it is just angle of the photo? So i think that this one looks really really good imho. Anyways this is going to be though for my wallet - most likely my wallet will commit suicide untill end of the year: 1. TC V5 16610 with KH dial (gen 16610 LN instert waiting home already) - ordered, waiting 2. Omega Aqua Terra Golf - must have 3. IWC 3777 - must have as well (until i make my way to gen 3714-38) lol.
  12. SO 44 IS super rep. no doubt. Have a look at Del's gen-rep comparison on RWI: http://www.replica-watch.info/vb/showthread.php/rep-v-gen-134310.html I think that side-by-side comparison is worth more than words. True stunner! (on the other hand, SO42 is my favourite, lol) have a look here: http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/151809-breitling-superocean-42-abyss-yellow/ or here: http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/159737-puretime-superocean-42/
  13. Wow. That one is a stunner. Thanks for posting. Wear it in a good health. I hope that I will join the TC Sub Club soon. Based on all of the good RWG guy's recommendations I placed my order about a month ago as well. Not for the Caddell Sub though, but for classic 16610 with KH 16610 dial. Gen insert is already waiting :-)
  14. There are many threads for sure. If you do a little research and play for a while with a search function, i am pretty sure you will find some helpful threads like this one for example: http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/158312-super-reps-for-2013/
  15. current so-called V3 has AR coated crystal and updated crown. example here: http://timeshops.net/product.php?id_product=13863
  16. Yup. It is big, it's bulky, it's extravagant and its sporty appearance makes them to be anything but a dress watch. Diver watch with rubber band ain't usually the best choice as a dress watch. UN MMDC is imho something special in this case. They have beautiful design that works perfectly with suit. Very eye-catching. On the other hand, you have to choose the right model that works well as a dress watch. I would not choose lets say 45 mm titanium UN MMD as a dress watch, but MMDC is a nice one as well as UN Maxi Marine Chronometer. It is something different from classic dress watches as IWC Portuguese or Portofino or Rolex Datejust or whatever. Depends how you wear it
  17. Is 100 that guy who fitted gen movement and 3714-82 dial in a ss portu with crystal caseback?
  18. UN MMDC was my very first rep when i came here. Two years later, still using it as my dress watch. Cyclops is bit fu***d up and misplaced, and movement is bit off, but in person the watch looks awesome. SS version is awesome. I think that RobbieG or By-Tor (cannot remember who it was exactly) wrote nice review about MMDC. You may want to use search function. That review is worth searching Update: I meant this review: http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/91917-ulysse-nardin-marine-chrono-rg-in-mac/
  19. How bout hublot diver 4000m? It is the biggest one i can think of (not my pic)
  20. I never saw a wild thing sorry for itself. A small bird will drop frozen dead from a bough without ever having felt sorry for itself. D. H. Lawrence SO42 for me today
  21. This one looks insanely great! Love it. Gotta double check it tomorrow. There is too much hype in me now
  22. Some of us are addicted to maxi dials, but like it black Moreover LV inserts are twice as expensive and rare to find than LN inserts. There ale also many gen owners who decided to swap their LV inserts for LN. I do like LN version much more than LV but I like maxi dials as well. So it is only a matter of taste.
