$1300 US for a fake dial and a fake movement to put in a Gen 7928? Nahh - skip the transaction and wait for the proper dial to come along for less money.
No - it won't fit - dial feet are way different. And it is not a gen dial. See the T < 25 - Tudor should have T SWISS T
The movement is a generic ETA with an aftermarket rotor. The seller knows this.
Don't send the money.
Search for a gen 16750 case back - these are common replacements on rotted 1675 cases and can be found cheaper than a 1675 case. Later when you stumble on a 1675 caseback you can get your money back on the 16750
I'll judge. The cases are some of the better rep cases, not entirely sure which case. They are not gen though. I have not looked at every listing but the many I have looked at have the same flaw
Based on lousy scans it looks good, nice insert, probably good dial, probably 66-68 so worth 3500-5000 guess but surprised for more without better scans and if the rotor is ok,
I'm not sure on the bezel one way or the other because I have not had one in my hands (heresy but the 1665 doesn't move me the way it should - in that price class I'd rather be guardless ).
The insert, however, is a superb MK3 insert from the 70s
7mm Aftermarket 24-700 tube - specifically the WSO (can't believe I'm thinking of this) tube - anyone use one? Are they OK and water proof?
I'm tempted to go new (over $200 if you can find one) but my existing gen tube doesn't have much thread left and I wanna go swimming.
I have 703 crowns & tubes but trying to stay original to a late 60's sub and I have a good 700 crown.
Doc, there are 1675 inserts with serif, though the amount of serif varies as does fatness. Fat font serifs can be pricey. Lots of things to look at over on VRF
That Ebay insert was nicer in some ways in what the vintage guys want than the ones listed in the image above. Though not $1000 bucks worth more.
A nicely colored Fat Font 1675 will fetch north of $500
I think they are pretty cool and I would likely have one if it came original with a mil-watch (came close once). The usually indicate occupational specialty / unit / gang of troublemakers beyong just a milwatch. But I would rarely wear one because for me it would be unearned.
But I like the one you have and I do like that it is a cool design and not meant to be something it isn't.
I like it but would love to see the serial / ref engravings to be sure. I was going to even bid on it (in my watch list) but I'm holding of on a 1675 for a while. May switch jobs and want to keep my kitty full.
