  1. Took this shot of a gen 112. Looks like sometimes we really get too anal on our reps, while there a lots of differences in gens as well................ Unfortunately I didn't have the opportunity to take a comparison pic with another 112 sitting next to it, which had the L Swiss L lower - just the way we like it.
  2. I really had a great weekend, guys! Obviously still sporting my new love......
  3. It's also a good thing to have you among us! Thank you for all your informative posts
  4. Yeah, we want wristshots!!!
  5. Pfffew........ Lucky you!
  6. Let's give this another try: What about Sunday the 17th, 24th or 31st of August in Amsterdam?
  7. You're doing it the right way. If you push the release button as on pic #12 in Ajoe's tutorial and pull the stem it is supposed to get out. Maybe you need to put the pressure a little bit up and use tweezers instead of a plastic tool. It's not as fragile as a 2824/36. The pusher can handle some force. But don't overdo it off course. As long as you don't dissassemble the whole movement you don't need to release the spring. The more difficult part is getting it back without damaging the keyless works. You need to press the release button and at the same time slowly put the stem back while 'winding' the stem anti-clockwise. When you feel the stem engage you can press it further in and keep pressing the button until the stem is full in. If you don't feel it engage start over again, because you can mess everything up when pushing it in further. Also be careful with taking the 3717 dial off, since most of the time the black paint can easily fall off just by touching it on the edges... If you don't feel comfortable with this you'd better send the whole watchhead to your AR guy and have him release the movement and get the crystal out. I know K2222 does that. I'm not sure with Chief, though.
  8. Thnx, Golfman! Next gen on my list will be a PAM111. You know that it would look great on my wrist .
  9. I don't think there's a '6' on the gen either. This looks faithful to me...
  10. Thnx! I have the feeling I'm going to see this beautiful 196 very soon again
  11. It is..... Just got it today .
  12. No TAGs today??? :cloud9:
  13. Not a good sign that they've handed it over to custms . I'll keep my fingers crossed......
  14. Good to hear she'll be back
  15. I own both the blue (polished bezel) and black (brushed bezel) reps. The blue version is the better rep, although the lume dots on the inner bezel are missing (only white paint) and the the numbers on the running seconds dial are located slightly off. The black version has wrong shape and size of pushers and crown, the bezel is about 1mm too large, caseback has wrong shape and looks as if it's a big too thick. This particular model hasn't been repped yet and I wonder if the rep makers will ever feel the urge to do so. Since I love this model so much the real thing is growing on me..... Especially the display caseback and the AR are a bonus to me.
  16. This might be my next gen acquisition. Any opinions? It's the updated version with display caseback and AR.
  17. Be extremely careful when handling the 3717 dial. It's notorious for black paint falling off the sides. I had to order a new one....
  18. Thnx for the great writeup! I've always asked myself why the Chinese would only copy a 7750 and not the 2824/36. To me a real Swiss ETA is one in a sealed bag. Other than that who knows what you get...
  19. Faking bills or telling straigh out lies is indeed not the way to go....
  20. Through mail and couriers there's a zero tollerance. They confiscate and destroy all illegal items found. However, you are not fined or prosecuted if it's only one item, since you are allowed to own 3 for your own use.
  21. If your watch is still at Fedex and not (yet) at Custms I would tell them this: 1. You don't wanna go through all this hassle and prefer to have them send it back to your 'friend'. Only if they ask you more questions about why you say: 1. You bought the watch second hand and don't have anything in writing to proof it's yours (personally I wouldn't wanna gamble with fake receipts...). 2. After you got confirmation that your friend received the watch in the US you threw away your postal receipt. You may check this in case Fedex hands it over to Custms (= regulations in Dutch. check #6 and table 2): hxxp://archief.om.nl/beleid/beleidsregel.php?rid=306. In short the scenarios are: 1. Custms consider it a rep and confiscate the watch. Since it's only 1 (you're tollerated to own 3), you're off the hook. But I wouldn't be surprised if your name/address would end up in some sort of 'alert'-list, so for the next time you'd better use another address. 2. Custms consider it a gen and they will charge you import duties/19%VAT and probably use the catalogue price. You need to proof you bought it cheaper. I'm not sure if you can reject the package and have it returned to sender, though.....
  22. Hmmm, I even doubt the 3 and 9 marker are 100%..... Maybe I can convince the AD to sell this watch for E 500,- and I'll put my own rep dial in it .
