Sead has a lot of EU stock too for some bestsellers. Just look at his section. He regularly post his Eu stock.

Still working on my watchmaking skills. I thought before I kill expensive Yuki and Gen parts I try to mod some cheap Seikos from my drawer first. Did these two today. What do you think?

After I had recently finished my online course in 101 watchmaking I am now trying to develop my skills. I have a couple of seagull movements that I disassemble, clean and oil. Today I was mixing bridges between a PVDed movement and a silver colored one. Results are from barely noticeable to quite interesting depending on light. What do you think? Obviously it doesn't affect accuracy.

It is not obvious at first glance but the course is actually free if you buy a start kit with the watch tools. With the discount on the tools it is actually very decent. He only sells quality stuff from Bergeon and the likes. Shipping was from Denmark so there is no customs hassle. I also was not quite satisfied with the collection of tools in the standard kit. But Christian was willing and able to put together a tailor-made kit for me. I know I sound like I am advertising but I am in no way connected to Christian. I am just a happy customer that's all.

Thx mate. Damned Apple auto correction.

I really like the way Christian Laas from learnwatchingmaking.com does these videos. Bottom line is he does not only explain WHAT to do but mostly HOW to do it and what to watch for. That is the big difference between his course and the stuff I found on youtube. Highly recommended.

I recently lost the pearl of my cartel Tudor Black Bay. so I ordered a bezel insert from Helenarou. Color is slightly different depending on light angle. Snaps right in. I didn't even need Hypo Cement or anything. Just wanted to let you know as I myself like to find this kind of information.

Yep it is a Gunny canvas. Actually even my daughter who doesn't give a rat's ass about watches said it was very cool. :-)

Guess you are right and I was jumping to conclusions. The baseplate is totally different and there are a lot of other differences too. -

Wearing my old Chinese Tourby today. In various watch forums very often the reliability of these movements is questioned. I bought this watch in 2006 and had it serviced once along the way. It never had the slightest hick up and is keeping good time. -
Has anyone done an online watchmaker course?
gasebah replied to gasebah's topic in General Discussion
Thx for the motivation. Your concerns are understood and expected. I would be happy after Level2 of the course if I can correctly service an 2824. They sell packages of all the tools you need for the course. It is all quality stuff like Bergeon. My motivation is that my excellent watchmaker around the corner is planning retirement. So what I am after is to case a watch correctly, set the hands, correctly and oil the movement, so I am not completely lost once he stops working. I have already built some watches but I suck. I want to learn the correct way to do it like holding the screwdriver correctly, use the movement holder the right way....all that stuff. -
I was just browsing for some movements, and found this: http://www.watch-tool.de/html/mech__movements.php?id=0981bh Actually you can buy TC movements directly from this seller. Interesting.
