  1. Yea saw that. Only problem is that the proxy is blocked by our proxy.
  2. Im assuming that my company's proxy might be causing an issue. I'll have to try it from home.
  3. I've had nothing in almost two weeks.
  4. I still can't get in. I know he was having problems but has he changed his address or is everyone else in the same boat? Last on I have is http://www.1-pc8838.com/.
  5. Wow, I dont think there are any usable parts left on that thing!
  6. Wow! how come I never get cool toys like that for my birthday?
  7. Go see "Boots". I believe the place is called CG Watch Repair at 55 Queen East. Its on the south side downstair. Its a small shop but boots will do it for you cheaper than anybody in the city. He also has no problems working on reps. Try 416-367-5012 and ask for him by name (just to make sure I got the right contact info, its from my iPhone).
  8. The Navitimer Fighters is probably one of the least accurate Breit reps out there. Certainly you should be asking for comparisons between the Skyland (not sure who you've been getting your info from) and The BCE. Both are top notch with very minimal flaws. My opinion would be to look at the two watches and choose the one that best suits you.
  9. Of course it would, but sunken datewheel or not, it would be nice to at least have the proper fon facing the proper direction.
  10. If you have the ability to do this, why don't you consider doing a tricompax Navitimer datewheel?
  11. To ensure that I am always on the proper AM or PM I do the following; -Pull crown out and advance time until date changes -Advance time to 6:00 AM -push crown in and back out to the date position -set to proper date -pull out and se the time to one minute past the actual time The last step is because after setting the time the A7750 doesn't seem to advance the minute hand until the second minute. If you set the time properly you will find that your watch is a minute slow all day
  12. bwhitesox used and older version (V2 I believe) of the fighters to create his franken. It had a flush datewheel to begin with, so after shaving the dial it fit perfectly with the gen movement. The V3 version that you have has a shallower sliderule ring. Because of that the dial sits higher in the case (closer to the glass). But, the movement still sits low in the case as to allow for pusher and crown/tube alignment. That results in the gap between the dial and the datewheel. To do this mod you are best to find a V1 Fighters. The dial will fit without modification and the sliderule will align with the dial properly. The hands however would need to be broached as the V1 has a 21K 7750 with slightly smaller hand sizes.
  13. That would appear to be the newer version. Not great for modding.
  14. its really hard to say. I'd like to see a picture from the side if the watch so I can see the side if the bezel. If your date wheel is recessed, its a pretty good indication that you have the newest version with the flatter sliderule. These are fairly new and I really don't know a lot about the, except the word of one modder that said the case is useless. If that is what you have I would suggest you hunt for an older versions as this one will always have a sunken datewheel and the gen dial will not fit.
  15. Always thought the sliderule insert on the rep was just way to wide. I can spot the rep in half a second and there's nothing you can do to fix it.
  16. He just posted these... http://www.1-pc8838.com/0103a-p-9796.html Not sure what the differences are but the crown and he valve look better than the V5. Or am I just seeing things?
  17. You talk to much bud Just sayin
  18. Yep, the Skyland, BCE (some of them), and Super Avenger datewheels will all work in a 6-9-12 Navi.
  19. Yep, a common problem. Remove the caseback carefully. If the screw has come loose you don't want it to fly out because you'll never find it. Work over a dark cloth, that way you'll be able to turn the watch over and see what falls out. If indeed the rotor screw has come loose, simply find the screw and re-attach the rotor. If not, look at the case clamps, they have a habit of coming loose and impeding the movement of the rotor.
  20. I don't think the Lello datewheels are available anymore. Your best bet would be to look for a used skyland, bce or SA and swap out the datewheel. You could then sell off the donor at a slight discount. That would probably be your easiest, cheapest bet. I did notice the broken gear, shouldn't affect things too much. The spinning rotor is a sign that the movement needs a service. Was the watch new or used? You really shouldn't hand wind a 7750 except to get it going. Even then it should be done very slowly.
  21. That would be a 28k movement. Odd that they put the wrong caseback on it, although if you can find a gen Old Navitimer dial, you'll be much better off with that caseback.
