  1. Ouch! Would be interested in hearing that story!
  2. Half my reps dont have 3s Nanuq, they are just reps after all
  3. I've always like 4, especially on Breits. 12 is another good day for Ling fans! But you are right about 1, it means its the first of 9 days I don't wear my Navi.
  4. Lume is okay but not spectacular. What really sets this apart from the rest is the carbon fibre dial. In the sunlight it has a 3-Dimensional appearance. The bezel is outstandingly firm, even better than the gen that I tried on the other day. Is it a monster? Damn straight it is, I've had more comments on this baby in three days than most watches get in a lifetime. I like the look of the watch, but the Jules Verne time machine lever just puts it over the top. Not the kind of watch that you are gonna wear every day, but when you do put it on its going to turn heads, and nobody is going to be able to call you out on this one.
  5. I have always prided myself in being able to find and spot the "tells" in our so called "super reps". Even the best ones will have at least one glaring flaw that will make it instantly distinguishable from the gen. That is until I picked up a Graham Tech Seal the other day. I have been staring at macro shots of both the rep and gen since I got it and have not been able to spot a discernible difference. This one is about as good as it gets my friends!
  6. I believe the 7750 is as solid as any of the other asian movements. Any precautions you need to take when setting the date apply to all mechanical movements, not just the 7750. If you still want to avoid it, look at the Avenger, Superocean Steelfish, or the Superocean Heritage.
  7. There is only one rep of the chrono Colt available, most dealers have it. Try Josh or Andrew's sites. I will warn you that although its a fairly nice watch, it is very far from a super rep.
  8. Thanks to all that replied!
  9. Can somebody email me Zig's email? I seem to have lost his contact info.
  10. You can say what you want about guys like TTK, Pug, Klink, etc., but they certainly made for some good entertainment. I can remember days when I couldn't wait to get on the computer to find out wat was going on. Really miss guys like D4M and, even though he is still here from time to time, ByTor. Those certainly were the days!
  11. Am I missing something? Why wouldn't you send it back to The Zigmeister? I'm pretty sure he guarantees his serviced movements for a period of time. As for the bracelet, it is obviously possible to get it on, as it arrived with it on. Possibly try a different set of springbars. The UPO is one of the toughest bracelets to mount at the best of times.
  12. I think the sliderule is more a tribute to days gone by than a usable feature. I think any cell phone would give you a much faster and more accurate calculation than a slide rule bezel. That said, I used to use mine all the time to estimate a trip duration or the average speed of a journey. I'm afraid my eyes aren't quite up to it anymore though
  13. Good eye Mickey, I thought that was a reflection. I wonder if that was like that before it stopped working?
  14. Yep, same watch. Wonder why he doesn't have it listed at RWI?
  15. Interesting that that exact watch is now for sale on repgeek at about double the cost. F__king leaches! http://repgeek.com/showthread.php?t=137110
  16. Wondering if you changed the battery or if you took it to a watchsmith? My advice would be to first take it to a decent watchsmith and have him check the battery. Possibly the one you put in is dead as well? Seems odd that both the display and the quartz movement would die at the same time, so it would seem that it is simply not getting power. So the most probable cause is still likely a dead battery, improper installation, or corrosion on the battery terminal. If there is in fact an issue with the movement, I'd still take it to Breitling for an estimate, as doing any kind of cheap fix will simply devalue the watch to just about nothing.
  17. Any update as to how the program is working?
  18. I used dental floss on my Skyland and its been holding tight for two years now. The secret is to cut a long piece. Once you get it started, pull it tight, the wrap it around until the ends overlap. Then clip the ends close to the case. Then take another piece of floss and use it to work the loose ends in to the case as well. After doing this mine became very stiff and was hard to turn, but after forcing it around a few times it loosened up and now sits firmly on the case but no longer rattles or turns freely.
  19. From Josh.... Hi, The crystal is now uniblock ... one single piece. .. There is still visible difference to the ult model.. Caseback ... Its better you consider the ult model. Please place your order directly online.. Visa or mastercard directly accepted. Thanks joshua
  20. Don't think I've ever seen a rose gold Breit.
  21. Because this really isn't a new watch. They just put a different dial on the existing 3-6-9 Navi and called it a Cosmonaut. They've done the same thing numerous times with various special edition Navis.
  22. It's not a bad rep of the cosmonaut, as good as it is likely to get anyways. The obvious flaws are the improperly positioned date window, wrong date font, symmetrical crown and pushers, wrong caseback, and most importantly the lack of a 24 hour movement.
