  1. The issue with the A7753 is that they won't put it on a watch that doesn't have a 9:00 date pusher. As the original uses the B01, it obviously doesn't have a pusher. Although there are many on these boards that would be happy to manually advance the date, the vast majority of customers would not be happy. Unless the can find a way to incorporate a date set in to the crown the A7750 is going to seen in any Breits in the near future. As for the size, I would take the rep measurement with a grain of salt as they are rarely accurate. I remember when I bought my navi the dealers were giving me measurements of anywhere between 40 and 43mm. I haven't seen this limited edition version of the Montbrilliant in person, but I know the regular version is very small at 38mm. The difference in size between that one and a regular navi is very obvious.
  2. On the plus side, the slidrule looks good. On the bad sided the date font is wrong. Other than that its a pretty nice rep. BTW, gen is listed at 40mm and the rep is listed at 42mm. The gen
  3. Guess it depends on where you live. I was born and raised in Mississauga and I've spent the last 20 years in Ajax.
  4. So you like Toronto, you just don't want to work? Unfortunately wherever you move you are likely to face the same problem. Only solution is to rid yourself of your worldly possessions and move to a third world country to live on the beach all day. As you are spending time on a luxury watch site, me thinks that thats not an option for you.
  5. IMO the best modern day driver bar none. He could make whatever he was driving go quick and in the rain he was unbeatable. Hope this film makes its way to Toronto soon!

  7. Thats why I never sell anything
  8. Really don't think that you would be getting a swiss movement at those prices. This one is listed a $569 including shipping and box and papers. Josh has the same watch listed at $308 + $88 for Box/Papers + about $30 shipping. I really don't think that the could put a $400 movement in there and charge less than $100 more than the asian version. If it seems to good to be true, it likely is. That said, the pictured Serie Speciale seems to have a very nice datewheel on it for a Navitimer rep.
  9. So I go out for my nightly run tonight. I usually wear one of my lighter chronos when I run but as I've been rehabbing a torn abdominal and have only been going at about 70%, I didn't bother to change my massive new Graham Tech Seal before I left. I run my usual mile and find that the abdominal has been virtually pain free, so after a couple of cool down laps I decide to do a 100 meter sprint. I'd completely forgotten the watch I was wearing and also neglected to loosen up the strap a notch as I usually do. After a gentle start (babying that abdominal) I was able to accelerate through the 65 meter point and maintain a good speed to the end... almost. At the 90 meter mark my bulging wrist snapped a springbar and I watched my beautiful Graham go sailing about 10 feet in the air and about 15 feet in front of me, as if in slow motion. It hit the track with a thud and bounced a couple of times before coming to a stop. To my amazement, after dusting it off, there wasn't a mark on it and it was still running perfectly. I popped the springbar back in, strapped it on my wrist (one notch looser) and was able to finish my run feeling very very lucky!
  10. Don't really consider any of my watches as "beaters". The watch that I wear for extreme water sport is my SFSO so I guess that would classify.
  11. Thats what happens when you are the top dog Josh, everyone is out to get ya. Sorry to hear about this latest setback though, I really thought the vids were a great enhancement.
  12. You really think our hobby is underground? Google any model of popular watch and check the images section. A good amount of those images are of the very watches we get from our dealers. It may have been underground when I started in this hobby but it certainly isn't anymore.
  13. Your tracking number should give you a clue as to where it was sent from. Try tracking it at www.canadapost.ca
  14. Yes but I assume that the crown has some sort of gasket that matches with the case tube to keep it air tight. Odds are the Gen crown and rep tube would not be 100% compatible. I'd skip the crown mod anyway, it actually not bad, and anybody who could spot the crown as rep is going to spot a half dozen other flaws first. Do; -Movement -Datewheel -AR -Paint subdial hands black -Replace caseback with one from tricompax BTW, if you polish the caseback you likely wouldn't have a problem trading it for the one you need. From what I've heard, the current Fighters models are no longer shipping with the Fighters caseback, they are now putting the tricompax one on. Thats really all that you need to do.
  15. Might be a moot question Rob. If you look at the pics you'll notice that the gen dial has been shaven down to the point where the sliderule markings are undetectable.

  17. Actually the hands you have aren't bad. The subdial hands should be black however. Some of the earlier Navi IIs (around 1994) had a straight chrono hand, but that appears to have been changed in 95 or 96. As suggested above, I'd find a Skyland and transplant the movement with datewheel. As for the caseback, see if you can find one from a rep tricompax. It will have the wrong model number, but it will be far more accurate to that model. The only other issue I see with your watch is that the sliderule markings on the dial are gold. The gen dial that you have would have been from a full gold or two-tone model, thus uthey should be silver in your stainless steel case. Not sure if you have AR on it, but that should be something you do as well. Here's a straight handed version. However, notice how the numbering on the 12:00 subdial differs from yours.

    LOL

Don't understand why anyone would feel the need to stick shiny stones all over what is already a work of art. Would you put glitter on a ferrari? I don't think so. Sorry Dave, diamond bezels don't do it for me either, but seing as its a few screws and 5 minutes to change it back, no big deal. But to destroy that once beautiful case like that is just such a waste.
