  1. Not exactly true. While the Navi doesn't have a quick set at the crown, you are able to roll the time back and forth over midnight to advance the date. You cannot do this with and A7753. If you have ever owned a 7750 with a broken quickset you will know exactly what a hand cramping procedure setting the date can be. Sure there are a bunch of guys here that would settle for that, but the other 90% of a rep-maker's customers would not. Just too much of a pain in the ass, and they simply won't do it. And there are other reasons. The Navi rep as we know it has been on the market for over 7 years now. People that want it have got it by now. The only rush to buy would be from picky WIS guys on these forums, and that just aint enough to justify a new production run. Secondly, the latest breitling Chronologue I looked at didn't even have the 7753 Navi in it, only the Navi B01, so I'm wondering if it's even a current model anymore. They certainly aren't going to start repping "vintage" Breits.
  2. Never mind, figured it out. My bookmark was set as "http://www.rwgforum.com/forum/". I guess at some point the addy changed to "http://www.rwg.cc/" and the old addy was just redirected to the new one. Not anymore I guess ;p Bookmark is fixed!
  3. Started happening about a week ago. Every time I try to visit RWG I get the following message: This happening with anyone else but me?
  4. been discussed many times. The A7753 does NOT have a date set function via the crown. They will only put it in watches that have a quick set button at the 10:00 position on the case. An A7753 in a Navi will leave you with no way to set the date other than advancing the time. If by chance you need to advance the date by 30 days, you would have to advance the time by 720 hours. Not really practical.
  5. What thread is that? Link? In most cases its pretty straight forward. Hands need to be broached, but other than that a gen 7750 will work anywhere an A7750 with subdials at 6-9-12 is used.
  6. You guys are all pussies. Hartdoc had far more patience than needed, and he's gone out of his way not to name the dealer. After 40 emails and two months?? You call that customer service? Why do you guys insist on protecting these guys at all costs? If a dealer is f__king up like that, I'd like to know about it asap so I don't send any more money his way. If you are gonna make a claim, make sure you've got all your ducks in a row, but don't be afraid to let us know about it. Everybody else, grow a pair
  7. Obviously this guy had no intention of ever putting this thing back together. Apparently he's in the rep business so he's probably assembled thousands of these things and could probably put it back together just as quickly as he took it apart. I actually found the disassembly process quite interesting, and from the moment he rested the movement on the seconds pinion I knew this wasn't an exercise in proper watchmaking procedure. Doesn't make it any less interesting.
  8. Looks great. Of course you can easily put a gen dial and bezel on the rep which would make it almost impossible to tell without cracking the caseback. But, looking at the amount of overhang on the SEL, I would have to guess that this is a modded rep.
  9. I'm not 100% sure. The He valve looks to be in the right spot but because the picture is taken more from the top side, it may just be an optical illusion. Some more pictures would give us a better chance of confirming.
  10. Sixx is back! Good to see ya mate
  11. Josh has the same watch listed at 46mm. I would expect that to be pretty accurate as its pretty hard to hide 2mm on a watch. Either the bezel would look small or the dial would be crowded.
  12. Looks great! I like to wear my white SFSO on my blue PRO I diver, its a great color combination.
  13. Let's see a pic of the watch face. I bet it ain't a 7750.
  14. Hope the new software is Tapatalk compatible!
  15. Work of art Pete! You and Rob have really outdone yourselves on this one.
  16. Not sure what year it is Rob, I do know he got it for $2200 though.
  17. Meh, as the current Navi is a Tricompax design, it will never be perfect because of the sunken datewheel issue. Aside from the datewheel the current rep isn't that bad. Remember, this rep has been out for about six years now and the gen has been unchanged for about eight years. I am fairly certain that the gen Navi will be updated soon, probably with a B01 movement, so that will probably be when the factories begin work an what will probably be the first really decent Navitimer. Its a shame because if they just did a custom datewheel and added decent AR, the current model would be far more tempting to more people.
  18. Iconic? The Navitimer has been around for over 50 years, the Skyland came and went in about two years.
  19. Skyland is by far repped more accurately. However, the Navitimer is a very decent rep, its main flaws being a sunken date wheel, wrong date font, and misaligned slide rule, and lack of AR. Even though the Skyland is near perfect, I tend to wear my Navitimer more often simply because it is a far more comfortable watch. If you are planning to wear this watch daily, you might find that the Skyland is a bit too top heavy and bulky. On rubber or leather its a bit more comfortable but its still a big, thick chunk of steel. If you have multiple watches and are going to wear this one on occasion, definitely go with the Skyland.
  20. Its gen. Something that I couldn't see in the first picture was the color of the slide rule insert. They are actually a very light silver color, not white (or creamy white) like on the rep. Its very evident in person. The dial is gen as there has never been a rep made of that particular dial. Proper date font and correct color of AR all point to it being gen. The only non gen part I se eis the strap.
