Its obviously another flaw, but the B01 is not majorly different in appearance to the B01. Proper rotor and bridges would be passable and unless someone was totally up on movements, they wouldn't know the difference. Of course a closed caseback is always preferred in the rep game. This one will undoubtedly have a sunken datewheel so I wouldn't worry about small details like the movement.
Whether they are planning on it or not, don't expect it until about spring of next year. The new Superocean was announced at baselworld 2010 and its just come out in rep form, so it looks like it takes about a full year to get a rep in to production.
Its amazing how most of the best versions of Breitling reps are no longer made yet the inferior version seem to continue for eternity. If the original Chrono Avenger maker did another run with AR and the proper date wheel he'd make a fortune!
Used them all and have settled on Chrome. It took a couple of plugins to get it exactly how I want it but I find it miles above both Safari and Firefox in terms of performance.
I'll always buy my watches on steel if possible, then pick up rubber or leather later. I do this simply because a steel bracelet is always harder to acquire after the fact and I always have the option of going gen on the leather or rubber. As to what I wear? Its pretty much even. In the summer when I'm more casual it'll be mostly leather and rubber but in the winter there are periods where I'll switch everything to steel.
This gen dial would be more appropriate in your case. The Serie speciale has a different shaped case that is brushed and has a domed crystal. Your watch is more akin to an Old Navitimer and would work best with a dial like this...

Thats one of the problems with company issued photos. As you detected, the lug appears to meet the case at a hard angle whilst the rep is rounded. Also the rep appears to have a ridge running running between the lugs that is absent on the gen image. All signs point to a so-so rep until you see a non-promotional image...
