  1. The links you listed are both the same watch. The one from watcheden seems to have a more accurate strap, but aside from that they are the same.
  2. Not really 100% positive, but I'm fairly certain that I've seen a gen caseback on an UPO before.
  3. I have to admit that this watch has grown on me since I first saw it. Really nice pic BT, you've really captured it.
  4. There isn't a decent rep of that particular model. There never will be either, as there isn't a rep movement that would accurately duplicate the function of the heritage. Looks to have seconds at 3:00, a three hour totalizer at 6:00, and 10 minute totalizer at 9:00. The narrow subdial spaced a7750 that they use in the UPO chrono would look the part, but the function is all wrong. And as we all know, there isn't much of a market for inaccurate watches around here.
  5. That watch is more of a throwback than an update. Its actually a V1 Navi rep with perfect slide rule. Great watch, best I have ever bought, but unfortunately it hasn't been available for at least 4 years. Kind of ironic to see Josh's site has been repped though. Karma's a a [censored]!
  6. Yep black dial/sticks/ss. Looks nice.
  7. I shall go in and ask tomorrow. It was still there when I walked by today, looks in good shape too. Its on a SS bracelet btw.
  8. If you happen to be in town, there is a Spatiographe at on of the local pawn shops right now
  9. UPO was my first choice last year, but I've found that the bezel insert can be a little unreliable and you risk using it during heavy water play (tubing, cliff diving, watersliding, etc.). Best watch I've found thus far is the SFSO. Absolutely indestructable!
  10. Thats what I've got, she won't be disappointed!
  11. Buddy, I'm offended you didn't ask me first being that I am a graphic designer and a mac IT guy to boot. If I were you I would go with the 13" macbook Pro. Definitely get it from the refurb store as you'll save quite a bit and get the full warranty as well. You could also get an macbook as it is pretty much the same machine, but I think the aluminum casing on the macbook pro would better stand up to four years of use, than the plastic macbook. You'll also want to buy a decent sized LCD and wireless mouse for her dorm, as a portable screen & trackpad just doesn't cut it for prolonged work. Make sure you get 4gb of ram (I think they both ship that way now). Lastly, get an external HD for her to back up on. Kids are prone to overworking laptops and it is more than likely that the HD will not make it through 4 years. Cheap and easy to fix on the MBP, but data is not replaceable.
  12. Their are some really good reps out there, but this one on Josh's site caught my eye, mainly because of the $2500 price tag. Who knows what you can believe, but this one boasts a solid gold bezel and genuine Cartier movement. Looks very sweet! But $2500 for a rep????? http://www.1-pc8838.com/cars00109-santos-ttle-white-cartier-original-swiss-p-8907.html
  13. This is exactly what I was hoping for to use as my summer "beater". Unfortunately it seems to have the same POS crystal as the more expensive model. http://www.1-pc8838.com/00omse00103-ploprof-1200m-ssru-black-asian-2813-p-8883.html
  14. Damn, I was going to buy one of these for my summer swimming watch. I see Josh just posted one with what looks like a DG 2813 in the back. I wonder if its 100% mineral glass? http://www.1-pc8838.com/0417b-p-8883.html
  15. Thought the same thing Chief. Seems to me that it would be better to cut the original mounting screws back a little bit, so that when they are fully tightened, they never protrude from the other side. Then simply cut the extenders a little longer. This way there would be no chance of the extenders coming loose in the case. Probably easier to fabricate as well.
  16. People get bored of gens too. After all its just a watch after all. I find that half the fun of rep collecting is the hunt and the anticipation of delivery. Once the watch arrives, the shine tends to rub off quickly. Try to align your purchases with significant life events, a promotion, birth, death, vacation, etc. This will give your watch a sentimental value, and a lifetime spot in your watch box.
  17. Love the watch, but my biggest problem is with the non-functioning lock button. It is so "in your face" that you know everybody who looks at it is going to say "what does the button do?". It'll be a little disappointing to answer "Nothing".
  18. Im actually wearing it today Red, and it is very comfortable! The Spatiographe is a beaut, but unfortunately it'll never get repped because of the movement. I am really dumbfounded as to why we haven't seen a super-rep of the Navi yet. Sure, my 1st gen is a decent replication, but standard have improved greatly over the 5 years since its release. Its one of the world's top ten most popular watches IMO, and there would most certainly be a huge demand for a well done version. BTW Red, I brought it on leather, but the bracelet is every bit as comfortable IMO, and it gives the watch a totally different look and feel. Probably a bit too blingy, but perfect for special occasions. If you ever decide to buy a Navi, I'd recommend buying it on a bracelet, then buy a gen leather strap later.
  19. Great looking watch and nice pics as well. Wear it well!
  20. Not sure if the rep manufacturers want to put much more effort in to it. As you recall, the Skyland launch was a bit of a farce, and both the manufacturers ended up having to slash their prices to a number that was far less than what it should have been. Combine that with probably less than stellar sales of either of them, due to the fact that their were two makers. My guess is that the whole skyland project was a big failure to both factories, and they likely won't update it. But who knows? They both came out with BS versions, so we'll just have to wait and see.
  21. Message sent! As always, the membership at RWG can't be beat!
  22. Thanks mate, the cost of a gen hand plus the delivery charge is a bit to much to spend on this old beater. It's actually an old UPO light with a dg4813, but as I recall the hour hand is pretty much the same on both movements. This one had a short cannon pin 4813 in it for a while causing the hands to rub, and removing some of the plating from the hour hand. Got a proper movement a while back, but don't wear it much because of the worn hand. Somebody has to have one laying about!
  23. I'm in need of an hour hand only for an ultimate Planet Ocean. With all the guys that put gen hands on, there has to be someone out there that should be able to spare a hand Cheers, A
  24. Is it just me or the font on the bezel less bold than on the gen? Still, very nice watch, and the first in a while that has got me mildly excited!
  25. Stop messin with my girl! I got the same message
