  1. Breitling dials are nearly impossible to get. Sure you can find plenty of Super Avenger dials and some Evo dials, but only because they are often replaced by the "bling" crowd, but you will rarely see any other current dials available. The OP is very lucky indeed to have been able to snag an SFSO dial, that is the only one I've ever seen available!
  2. You are right about it being a keeper BT. I picked mine up for almost nothing from a local member a few years back. I don't wear it a lot, but every time I put it on I am amazed by the accuracy. Undoubtedly the best built watch in my collection!
  3. You could try Rex over at RepGeek. I've never used his services, but I've only heard good things.
  4. Try contacting The Zigmeister. You obviously love the watch, it's a good time for a full service.
  5. Edit - The man himself beat me to the punch
  6. BT, the guys that I've talked to that have actually owned both tend to concede that both versions have their advantages, the v2's advantages just happen to be more visual. The obvious difference in the 1's, the pearl is slightly better, and of course the v3 was behind the 8 ball from the beginning because of the half lume dot. The v3's strong points are less evident, but equally as important. Proper date stamp between the lugs, better caseback, and most importantly, a fully decorated movement and rotor. Is the v2 AR better? Maybe, but I can say that the v3 AR is pretty damned good as well. Heck, most people can't tell the difference with macro pics, so in my eyes it's not even worth the debate. Both are excellent.
  7. Glad you are enjoying the Skyland BT. It certainly isn't the kind of watch that you would want to wear 24/7, but when you wear it occasionally it feels great every time you put it on. It certainly demands attention and gives you a manly feeling. Thanks for the pics and the excellent pics and review, made my morning commute fly by!
  8. Think you would suit a Skyland better BT. Not that you couldn't pull off a Super Avenger, your wrist seems big enough. I Just think that compared to the watches you have, the SA would seem massive. The Skyland would feel big without making you feel subconscious about it.
  9. With those giant markers and extra wide hands, this thing should glow like a torch if properly lumed!
  10. I agree BT, the old superocean was a very blah watch. This new one is nice. At 42mm it'll wear nicely, and the deep face and colored insert give it a more rugged look than its predecessor.
  11. 12. The supply has pretty much dried up on those. As I recall they could be "hit and miss" as some would just not work properly. And they were fairly expensive! You are better these days to look at dealers that sell budget V3 Skylands (well under $200 at times) and transplant the entire movement, or just the datewheel. The Skyland (with incorrect datewheel or just parts) can be re-sold to offset the costs. Better still, check the members sales area for budget Skylands or Evos that have the correct datewheels.
  13. You really can't go wrong with a Skyland. Great watch and one of the best replications yet!
  14. You don't see them that often because not many people modded them. Which I find kind of odd seeing as its not that hard to do, and given how many people spend money to mod Super Avengers. All the parts are available, seems like there would be more people doing them!
  15. First watch? B01 Tenth watch? Blaksteel the BS just isn't a daily wear watch
  16. It is not V3 in the sense that there was any evolution. The V1 and V2 Skylands were released at about the same time. They were made by different manufactures It was widely agreed that the V2 was visually more accurate for several reason, but mainly because of a half lume dot at the three o'clock position on the V1. Months later the V1 manufacturer fixed the lume dot issue and the watch was now referred to as V3. Because none of its other minor shortcomings were addressed, it is still visually inferior to the V2.
  17. My expectations have long since been surpassed. Back in the day reps weren't even close and were generally of very inferior quality. Today, for the most part they are pretty much spot on. Of course, we will always fuss over minor imperfections, and wonder why the rep factories can't achieve perfection. I wonder, if Breitling sent the same watch to be produced in two different factories, whether the end products would be identical? I would guess not. So I think its pretty ambitious of us to hope that our Chinese friends could pull it off either. This is the golden age boys! Enjoy it because it won't last forever.
  18. I'm pretty sure this is what you are looking for... If not, maybe you could tell us?
  19. This is Josh's site http://www.perfect-hour.com/ Andrew is here http://www.trustywatchguy.com/
  20. I just saw that. There's still time for me to crack the lineup BT
  21. Without doubt. Goaltending is the most important element in a tournament like this.
  22. Slitty, I felt that way throughout the whole tournament, that each Canadian player played their roles perfectly. Canada was very good at winning the small battles on the ice, meaning face-offs and battles on the boards. Defensively they were great, and even though Luongo coughed up a lot of rebounds, his defense quickly cleared them. Canada was very efficient at avoiding the penalty box while still playing an unbelievably physical game. I'm really proud of all of them, and would never be able to select an MVP. Could be any one of about 15 guys!
  23. You are right Chief, Sid really did live up to the hype. Don't forget, it was Sid that ended our game with the Swiss in a shootout. Two big wins courtesy of his stick. Its funny how some say he was pretty much invisible throughout the tournament, but you have to remember he was probably double teamed every time he stepped on the ice, freeing up room for his team mates. With all that he still managed to win games! Gotta hand it to him.
  24. Yes, I am well aware that we lost the U18 title this year. First time in a long long long time though. Personally I thought the competition at the games this year was very good. Canada was beaten by the US, and taken to a shootout against the Swiss. The Slovaks took us to the dying seconds of the third period. Sweden looked great until they were upset. Only the US were able to walk through unscathed, due in a large part to good seeding. But overall, I thought there were a lot of teams that were very competitive.
