  1. Send him an email. Some dealers don't list all the different strap combinations. Tell him you want it with a "deployant buckle".
  2. Maybe, maybe not, but it won't look anything like the one pictured. I'll guarantee that!
  3. Id tell him to cancel his paypal transaction (file a dispute) right away, based on the fact that someone has copied Josh's site. Not to say that whoever this is won't deliver a watch, but I'm sure he's not going to get the same service that Josh would give.
  4. There is no way to make it work if the movement is different from the gen. If you make the subdials smaller, there is too much of a space between the edge of the subdial and the outer edge of the dial. Also, you cant change the position of the date window which tucks in to the bottom of the 6:00 subdial, so that one is already as small as it can go. If you make the other two smaller it would look way off proportionately. It's a jigsaw puzzle, and I think they've done as good of a job as they could given what they had to work with.
  5. The DG4813 is a 28k direct fit replacement. You will probably need the high pinion version, which can be hard to find though.
  6. You shouldn't really hand wind an automatic movement. I think what has happened is coincidental to your greasing the rotor. What has happened is that the winding gears ha worn out from hand winding. This causes the rotor to spin when winding. You can either use it without hand winding, or service it and have the winding gears replaced.
  7. Yes, I noticed how long you've been a member. 200 posts in five years? That's what, about four a month? You were the one that mentioned a gen movement, and I responded that it wouldn't work. Sorry I tried to help. Your back handed comment about contacting someone who "knows what they are talking about" didn't go unnoticed. As far as I'm concerned you can do what you want with your watch. You've been advised to send it back, yet you now want to waste zig's time , when I guarantee he will tell you the same thing. Whatever dude, I'm sick of dealing with rude people like yourself, and I'm out of here.
  8. wasn't it you that brought up the issue of the gen movement? Geesh, can't believe the rudeness of some people!
  9. Crown doesn't look right on the newer version
  10. Off topic? I am telling you that this watch ca not be updated with gen parts. The gen uses a caliber 44, based on an eta 2892. The rep is a modified 7750. A gen movement won't fit the rep case, a gen dial won't fit the rep movement, gen hands won't fit, and neither will any other part. If you are going to mod a watch, you need to start with a rep that is at least based on the same caliber as the gen.
  11. I'd send it back to the dealer. As for modding this model, there really isn't much you can do beyond AR. If you like the watch and are serious about modding, look at the chronomat evolution. That watch is very similar to your BB, but is a much better platform for modding.
  12. Those really look awesome, especially on the gen straps! What do you mean when you say the Skyland runs unbalanced? Great watches, and thanks for posting!
  13. Actually I think it has more to do with the fact that the gen uses the thinner ETA2892 movement. The 7750 is thicker, so you've either got to make the case thicker, or put the crown/pushers in the wrong place. Although this is a nice rep, this is for the most part the best we can expect for future releases. As the major gen manufacturers move away from the workhorse 7750, our reps still rely on it. Rather than replicate movements like the 2892, they have chosen to modify the 7750, so subdial spacing is going to become more of an issue as time goes on. You are never going to see a "Super-Rep" that doesn't use the same base movement as the gen.
  14. You will also notice that the crown and pushers appear to sit too low on the case when compared to the pic of the gen (above)
  15. Here's a side by side for comparison sake... The gen The rep
  16. Sunken datewheel is too small Sliderule is misaligned Hands are wrong color red Subdial spacing is too close Very nice rep though!
  17. Just posted by Josh! What do you guys think?
  18. Congrats, enjoy them! You should invest in some lottery tickets mate.
  19. If your watchmaker says its an easy repair, then I'd do that. Really not sure that he would be able to source gen hands for it though. My advice to you would be to decide what you are looking for, then seek out a fair trade. There might even be some guys that would trade a few nice reps for it.
  20. Well, look at the value of your watch first. I saw a pristine example of it on ebay going for about $2600. Yours has the incorrect chrono hands, and the pointer hands aren't in too good shape either, but I'd wouldn't value it at anything less than $16-$1800. I just did a quick ebay search and found this Mark IV for $1200... Of course, you can talk about the value of vintage watches until you are blue in the face, until you have an actual buyer its all subjective.
  21. From your first post, it would read that the chrono had run for 32.5 minutes.
  22. Not so simple as the bezel is not easily removed from either model. That said, I'd stick with the V2 bezel. Sure the v3 has more crisp engravings, but it has a slighly incorrect font, numbers too far inboard, and an inferior pearl.
  23. I think the 6:00 subdial looks bigger than the rest, almost certainly its a 49. The first pic may not be a twin sixty though. It could be an Old Navitimer. Wasn't aware he wore one until I saw the pic below. I guess if his enthusiasm for Breits is anything like his affinity for Porsches, he's probably got a warehouse full of them!
