  1. it's already been pointed out that Richards never said this. Regardless, I'm interested in hearing the basis for your arguement that the author should be ashamed.
  2. Good points Lani. I understand both sides of this issue, but I feel that a politically correct decision has been made to sweep the problem under the rug and never speak of it again. I have always felt that th best method to overcome a situation is open discussion. In regards to racial slurs? I was always taught the "sticks and stones" method of dealing with it. Ignore the slurs long enough and they lose their power. When was the last time you heard someone say wop, deigo or chink? It just doesn't happen. So why does the n-word continue to be such a thorn in our sides? Maybe because I rarely ever hear it come out of a white guys mouth anymore, yet blacks seem to use it all the time. Funny how a word that was so demeaning and hurtful when said by a white man, can become such a common word in the black vocabulary.
  3. sorry, I kind of doubted that this quote was actually written by Richards. Regardless, there are some interesting points made.
  4. @ TT, not trying to start anything mate. I'm just not the type that feels handcuffed by political correctness. I can say what I feel simply because I know there is no hatred or bias behind it. I didn't write the above, but I can't say that I disagree with much of it. @b16a2, granted the "N" word has a lot of bad history behind it, but I'm sure that most racial names do as well. All groups have had their fair share of hardships. Just never understood why speaking about anything associated with blacks always results in gasps. When did we go from Archie Bunker being the number one show in America, to media personalities being fired for making racialy flavored jokes?
  5. I received this email today. A lot of point that I've often thought about. Feel free to discuss... Proud to be White Michael
  6. Gen parts are impossible to get. The stem is easy, any watchmaker can order you an ETA 7750 stem, which will work fine. Try contacting our dealers about the crown and hand.
  7. Its been posted a few times over the years, but no harm in reminding others about a great resource. I've used it many times when members are questioning what certain strap/dial configurations would look like.
  8. I'm a little more skeptical on that. As the B01 is not 7750 based, there will more than likely be issues with subdial spacing (they might be close, but likely not exact) and things like crown/pusher alignment. I've noticed a real trend towards the "if its not perfect, its not worth buying" attitude in the past few years. Guys have been spoiled by the near perfect replication of 7750 based watches, and I don't think they'll go for a less than perfect B01 at this point.
  9. I think that things have been quite here for two reasons. First, no new releases. Second, the last bunch of releases have been limiting as to what you can do with mods. Aside from putting a gen dial on the Super Avengers, there is no real mods that can be done to the skylands or seawolfs. Cant even AR the crystal with Cheif's magic coating because the bezel wont come off. I've always said that we have been spoiled with the quality of these reps over the past few years, but in some ways it has taken away the most fun part of our hobby. I always thought the most exciting threads at RWG were when guys would take a pretty good rep, and turn it in to a perfect rep. I love looking at all those PO & UPO modding threads in the Omega area. Sadly, its just not possible with Breits.
  10. 99% sure its gen, but if you can get a movement shot, that would confirm it.
  11. That looks like a really nicely made strap. The thickness and stitching make it look really authentic, except with an exotic look.
  12. Agreed, I've never seen a Navi caseback for sale anywhere. The Navi reps have been out there for a few years now, and all come from the same factory. Hopefully its time for an update, or maybe a different factory might take a shot at it. I'm sure there are a lot of Breitling fans out there that wouldn't hesitate to add a Navi to their collection if they were done right!
  13. you can order the rep insert with pearl from most of our dealers. Probably about $40. Try Silix.
  14. I know there have been issues with the new software, but I still can't log in. Anybody else able to?
  15. Every now and then I see someone has lost a tab. Found this place while surfing today... http://www.swisswatchstore.co.uk/products/Breitling-Parts
  16. Actually, all those pics are of gens, straight from Omega's marketing department
  17. Never seen it tried, and that is most likely because Breitling parts are next to impossible to get.
  18. Think I just [censored] myself
  19. True, that subdial layout looks correct, but the date window on the Seawolf Chrono looks to be much closer to the outer edge.
  20. Yeah, saw that a couple of days ago on Josh's site. Im not much of a Hublot fan, but that one really caught my eye!
  21. Sorry, should have clarified that a bit more. Thanks BT.
  22. Hairspring is slightly tangled. Give it a gentle slap on the caseback, that will usually fix it. If not, contact your dealer.
  23. All the current SMPs suffer the same glaring flaw, an improperly positioned He valve. Keep your eyes peeled in the trade section, the old school SMP chronos still come up quite often, and the prices are generally good.
