  1. Anyone see the Seinfeld reunion on Curb Your Enthusiasm last night? Jerry gave some nice peaks of his beautiful Breitlings! This is likely his Twin Sixty! This is what he wore in the show I believe that its a Chrono-matic 49 Jerry's a man of good taste!
  2. The thread you are looking for is here Just about any dealer will be able to get this watch. Contact them if they don't have it listed.
  3. I believe the QOS model has the engraving. But, you know that it isn't nesessary on the 45mm PO because the earlier editions of the gen didn't have it?
  4. Great photo mate! I wish I could shoot em like that.
  5. Somal provided me the short version. Ajoesmith has been the only person I've found that sells the tall version.
  6. Toad, I believe the differences between the 2813 & 4813 are a little more than the difference in beat. I believe that the 4813 is a slightly thinner movement than the 2813, which can cause some issues with the crown/tube alignment. Also, as you mentioned, you have to be sure to get one with the higher hand stack, or else there may be issues with hand clearance on the dial. Unfortunately, these movements are hard to find.
  7. I'm guessing its a Breitling 110 with a Valjoux 7736 hand wind. It was sold in the early 70's and has a value of about $1300 US.
  8. Don't think it's an 815.4 Ken. Notice that the one in the link you provided has lugs, where this one doesn't. Dials are very similar though.
  9. Wow! A Swilze made Chlonometer Great gen though!
  10. Okay, I'm not afraid to name this guy. Its xslyyx who sold you the watch. Checking his posts, he does have the habit of disappearing for months at a time, so his lack of communication could be coincidental. However, when you have a deal in progress, he should be responsible enough to stay in touch until the transaction is complete. Whether he has scammed you or not, he has certainly been a bad seller.
  11. Another stunning piece Rob! What an outstanding collection you've got. I'm soooo jealous!
  12. Over the years I have seen a number complaints that the date ceases to be able to be adjusted via the crown. IMO, that is the weak point. Other complaints are that the AR is a little overpowering, and that the early versions had an off center pearl. Still, a great watch, and with chiefs AR, the dial really pops!
  13. Great post mate! I didn't realize you were getting so deep in to watch repair! I guess I'm going to have to send my stuff to you instead of Boots soon
  14. I really don't think that there is a difference. They are all 4th gen. I believe Paul from Wo-Mart started calling them 5th gens at some point, but there were no changes to it. I'm pretty sure thats the story, unless someone can clarify?
  15. BTW, for comparisons sake, here is the old rep And this is the gen Notice how the subdials cut slightly in to the slide rule
  16. Again, one step forward and two steps back. The slide rule markings on the dial are definitely too far outboard. The subdials and date window should cut in to the slide rule hash marks. This one gives the appearance that the subdials are too far inboard. It just looked wrong at first glance. The case itself looks good, but if you are going to go through the trouble of manufacturing a new case and bezel, why wouldn't they brush the damned thing??? As for the sunken datewheel, it appears that they have lowered the height of the slide rule insert in an attempt to get the dial closer to the glass (a good thing), but in doing so, they added a spacer between the movement and dial to get the crown & pushers to align. I'd love to see some pics of the single digit dates, as I'm not sure if the date font is an improvement or not. Also, from what I can see, the crown seems to have less teeth than the older version, and it looks too rugged. Of course, the crystal is wrong. Does it have AR? And could we please get a shot of the caseback? Cheers, A
  17. Hmmm, insert looks great, but subdials look a little inboard. The subdials generally cut in to the slide rule markings on navis, so I'm not sure what's in this one. Bezel looks great though. Let's see some movement pics!
  18. Yeah, its not just the diameter, the Avenger series is bigger in every aspect, crown, lugs, case thickness, etc. The Skyland and BCE have the same diameter, but the Skyland is a much more substantial watch. I love mine, but it is not the most comfortable to wear.
  19. The missing chunk of earth is actually the moon's shadow as depicted in the astronauts suit patch. And you are right Toad, this is a very beautiful piece when seen first hand.
  20. I don't believe there is a case that will fit the gen tri-compax dial. It has to be shaved down slightly.
