  1. Start by slowly hand winding it with about 30 turns. This should give you a full charge, and note how long it runs. The next thing to look for is whether the rotor is attached and spinning freely. In a quite room hold the watch flat and give it a gentle shake and listen for a spinning sound from the back of the watch. Sometimes the screw that holds the rotor on comes loose, and the watch will not automatically wind.
  2. Great looking watch! Just be careful when flashing it around dealers, as anyone who knows Breits should easily be able to identify it as a rep. Simply running the chrono would be a dead giveaway Wear it well!
  3. As long as I have been in the rep game (4 or 5 years) I have not heard of a single customs issue in Canada. Do not worry about it, and enjoy ordering your new rep!
  4. Looks good, what I expected though as this is simply a refinished V2. The same problems from the original exist, plus a couple more. Still has the blobby misaligned lume and too large pearl crystal, and now it seems that the caseback is not colored as it should be (red & black limited edition numbers) and as mentioned before, wrongly colored collars on the subdial hands. But all in all its a very accurate, well made rep!
  5. Not available and likely never will be. Too many complications to rep and no movement to use for it.
  6. The Zodiac serial killer took his name and logo from his 1967 Zodiac Sea Wolf...
  7. OJ Simpson and his Rolex TT Sub that he later claimed was a rep...
  8. Paul Stanley appears to wear a Super Avenger
  9. Okay, here is my guess... Now on first glance it may seem to have four corners, but if you think spacially, you can picture this being a 2D version of this object... As you can see, the object has a corner at the top, bottom, and around its center, for a total of 3.
  10. I'd take andrews offer and have the new crystal professionally coated.
  11. yearly address change... http://www.pc88clone.com/ Further proof of how much they rely on us.
  12. The problem is that rep AR is in most cases not really AR, but just a blue tint. It has nowhere near the durability or reflective reducing properties of real AR. Not to say that real AR can't be scratched, but it will take a lot more than a shirt sleeve rubbing against it to do it. I had rep coating on a Silix PO that was scratched pretty badly. I was surprised how little effort it took to remove it completely.
  13. I would have said its a rep from the beginning, but now that the lie has been told, I'd just forget about it. Nothing more needs to be said, and this guy will never be the wiser. In the next year you will likely move on to several new watches, and you can be honest with this guy then. No big deal, you're not the first or last person to misrepresent a rep.
  14. Yeah OS, lets see some pics! Awesome story!
  15. IWC Cousteau's were so hot, then not. The SOH kind of came and went. But there are many great reps that flew so far under the radar, that they didn't need to disappear!
  16. Bottom left is the gen. The other two are both V2 reps, the only giveaway without more detailed photos is the misaligned 4:00 lume dot. The top image looks darker, but I'd but that to lighting. Bottom line is that I would have no problem walking in to an AD with that watch on my wrist.
  17. I believe if you push that large button that says "PUSH", it will lower the ratchet teeth and allow you to pull that whole piece out.
  18. Don't worry about Canadian customs, its not an issue. I've been on these boards for a few years and have never seen one issue in Canada. Use any of the dealers here and you will be fine. BTW, I'm from Toronto and welcome aboard
  19. Save your money and wait for a new version to be released. All current models of this watch are crap. Go for the SMP Chrono instead
  20. I was actually thinking about this the other day. With reps getting better and better, the art of modding them seems to be vanishing. About 2 years back we were introduced to the "Ultimate Planet Ocean". We couldn't believe that a rep could be so good! But, it still had flaws, logo, AR, insert, etc. Dead giveaways if you are familiar with the watch. In the past year, the Graham, Porsche, and Breitling releases have been astounding and leave very little room for any creative modding. The craftsmen that used to be plentiful at RWG are slowly disappearing.
  21. Damn them! btw, any fringe benefits to being a Powermax?
  22. Welcome, just what we need, another Andrew from Ontario
