  1. I understand where Chad is coming from. While David offers great pvd cases, capped hand, and other goodies, I don't understand why anyone would buy an aftermarket dial that doesn't compare with the dials of our "out of the box" reps. I guess I use the same rationale when I see new improved movements for display back Pams. If all the swiss hand wind movements essentially work the same and people are just buying a better looking "decorated" movement, it is not money well spent in my opinion. If someone is inspecting your watch and know what a Panerai movement is supposed to look like, I don't care how good it looks, it won't even come close to the finish and details of the real thing. Buy a watch that doesn't have a display back (005, 001, 000) and you won't have to worry about a fancy looking movement.
  2. Finally something for me to laugh about. Great post.
  3. I just got home from the humane society where I had to surrender my loving companion of the last 11+ years. She had been acting odd for the past two weeks (tearing stuff up, running away etc.) and we decided as a family that we couldn't take care of her any longer. This was the hardest thing I have ever done. We felt like she was going to injure herself, and couldn't live with that. Here's a pic of my dog Casey. I came home hoping to catch up on some emails, check out some watches, and read the forum. The discussion over dealers and their prices etc. hasn't helped out at all. Give it a rest guys. It's only watches.
  4. David read my mind. Great watch.
  5. Omega SMP Oris TT1 or Williams F1 Team Chrono Sinn U1 on bracelet Plenty of used watches for $1500. All of these can be found for less than $1500 new.
  6. and then he remembered that he was supposed to send his Panerai to his watchmaker The Zigmeister to have a new battery installed. Damn those Italian watches with their battery operated movements He also realized that he was supposed to pick up his Fiat from the shop that day. Those Italians got him again . At least there's gelato.
  7. Looks great. Crown will make it complete. I would look into a black stingray with white pearls. A titanium colored carbon broadband (or black) from Europelli would look very nice as well.
  8. Not a bad little collection you've got there. I bet that white one one gets lots of wrist time You really should add a croc/bony croc/lizard to the collection. A black bony croc would look incredible on that Arktos.
  9. Poljot or a Daniel Jean Richard
  10. WAY too much information from a guy no one cares to hear from. He "was going to a clinical". More like visiting his clinician. Chrono, You must have very thick skin or a poor short term memory. You post, get flamed, and then make like everyone is your best friend. I'm guessing you were the one that got the [censored] kicked out of you in school. Take all your gens over to Timezone and make some new friends. I'm very tired of you and I know I'm not alone by a long shot.
  11. Your Arktos looks fantastic. The crown and CG look perfect. I want a Pam sub, but will wait for the 194. I want a 47mm sub, but not a chrono.
  12. Moderator, please ban this clown before he rips someone off. I would send some pms/emails to the moderators from the other sites as well. I'm sure he'll make his rounds passing off his crap. I'm guessing this knucklehead is the kind of guy that will pass on his Canal Street special as a perfect ETA that has been serviced by his local watchmaker. F'in tool. I haven't like this guy since the minute he arrived. He's probably 17 and plays with fire a lot. (no offense to the other seventeen yr olds.
  13. I'm pretty sure Neil's watch is a Super Avenger with an fantasy dial. Neil mentioned this to me at one point.
  14. with a TROLLING motor.
  15. VC Overseas? Or Pugwash's guess.
  16. Like I said in my PM, I think a 20mm strap might look silly on a 45mm watch. Much less noticable to keep the bracelet on.
  17. I haven't played in a while. Wearing the 196 right now on rubber. Will switch to the 029 for tomorrow.
  18. Eddy, I wanted that watch both times around. Looks perfect (with the killer AR coating). I just can't help to think that the crown would do some damage to my wrist. I guess wearing it one day per month will take care of that problem.
  19. I found this watch at a local store. Retails for $1300, selling for $450. 44mm. Swiss ETA movement. Probably around 15mm thick. Very solid piece. Nice rubber strap. I can't find ANY information on this exact watch, but I like it. What do you guys think? I know, it's a gen
  20. My chronos work perfectly as well, I just don't use them. I would say we've all had pretty good luck with our 7750s.
  21. One of the better posts I've seen in a long time. Beautiful watch. The AR is amazing.
  22. I've got about 9 months on my 196. The watch keeps PERFECT time. Gets worn a couple of times per week and I never touch the chronos. Everyone says it's a crap shoot. Maybe it's time for me to head to Vegas
  23. I love the watch too. The PVD looks just right. I do think the font on the whole watch is wrong.
  24. It's called a keeper. If you ask one of our trusted "dealers" nicely, they might send you a replacement.
  25. Great pics. Love the watch but the date is almost missing it sits down so low. I don't think the Pam 196 has as great a flaw in the date with the same movement.
