Didnt someone use a UPO dial in their 42mm case?
triplehd replied to triplehd's topic in The Omega Area
Yeah, i thought the person had modded the dial by grinding it down. Im looking for a a 42 orange dial. I only have a spare dial for a 45.5 case. -
I remember seeing a thread where a member used their UPO Dial and was able to fit in a 42mm case. Does anyone remember that thread? Does anyone have the link to that thread?

I have a package that has been 5 days in Dallas, TX. US customs
triplehd replied to wan's topic in General Discussion
I would advise NOT to call customs. Think about it for obvious reasons. Just be patient. -
Will the straps fit perfectly like the 22mm straps for the UPO?
-
Yeah, I would hate to be caught with fake chips at a casino, especially in Vegas. Wouldnt want to get the hammer treatment.

Many thanks W. Just need to get the pearl filled and relumed and I got a gen As soon as I get the new hands for the quartz, will post new pics. Gonna keep one of the white SMPs - deciding between the automatic (ETA Clone) and then quartz (swiss quartz).
-
$750 ? Wow. I was able to source an asian closed factory electric blue. Swapped the movement with an ETA clone and threw on some gen hands. I bought my wife a gen mid-size for Christmas - the gen dial is still a bit darker blue. I may just grab a gen dial from Ofrei.
-
Many thanks Marrick. I saw yours and saw that it wasnt too complicated to put together. I just wished that the correct hands came with the dial, but oh well. maybe use those hands on another project ?!?!?! I wouldnt mind a gold insert, but haven't really found any good ones. I see this one - Gold Insert but not too sure of the quality. But hey, ya never know Nope - someone on RWI was selling a seamaster case and I needed one for this project. Well, as it turned out, it was the clsoed case. The only thing that sucks is that my bracelet does not fit this case (end links are too short). My bracelet is from 2004 - with the serial numbers, but will now have to change the endlinks to fit the case properly.

I usually look on eBay now and then to see if there's any good watch parts available - primarily Omega watch parts. I came across and ended up winning a White Seamaster dial. I already have a nicely modded Bond Seamaster, but thought, hey, a white version wouldnt be so bad to add to the collection. Some specs regarding this version: Make: Omega Model: Seamaster Professional (2532.20.00) Movement: Automatic, Omega Caliber 1120 Features: Screw Down Crown, Helium Escape Valve Material: Stainless Steel Crystal: Sapphire WR: 300M Width: 40mm Lugs: 20mm Pics of the Gen My modded SMP - Gen dial with a bit of aging on the lume dots. But once charged up, it lumes and lumes and lumes - Gen hands from Ofrei - Sapphire crystal with single sided A/R I couldnt find the silver insert nor was I going to drop $200 on the bezel just to get the insert - so I opted for the blue insert - just like on the 2531 model. Pics And with the 2531 Close up of my nicely modded 2531 (just need to get the pearl relumed) And last but not least - Omega Seamaster - White Quartz. - Gen dial - Gen hands (hands are incorrect length - the new correct hands are on their way) - Sapphire crystal - Swiss ETA Quartz How about a group shot?
-
Im actually building a White Seamaster (same as the bond 2531 - but dial is white). The insert should be silver as the gen, but cant source one. Therefore, Im using a blue insert. Once finished, Ill post some pics.

Just wondering...can this dial fit the 7750 modded asian movement (that the new UPO Chrono utilizes) ? If it does, solves the sunken datewheel problem. (Or, just put a cyclop on the crystal - one solution, right?) If Im not able to sell the UPO - maybe swap a dial without a date or just throw a cyclop on it.

New Movement: Compact Subdial Spaced 7750?
triplehd replied to Mickey Padge's topic in General Discussion
Is this the movement in the new UPO Chrono? I thought Mickey had posted a pic of the movement which looked a bit different....was i mistaken? -
Anyone know where to find a generic Saphire crystal?
triplehd replied to jdkno's topic in General Discussion
What size? You can check out Ofrei. However, I beleive the thickest I have seen over there was 1.5mm. -
Maybe throw some type of mag underneath the date window then, huh?
-
Isnt there a swiss ETA 3,6,9 subdials? Why wouldnt that work?
-
Hmmm....what happens if you were able to throw in an ETA 7750....problem solved ?!?!?
-
Oh the good ol' days. Why oh why did I ever part with mine (twice !!!)
-
It wasnt that I depended on using the words FRAGILE on the package to ensure safe delivery. As I stated earlier and even pointed out by GHBG35, the watch was packaged up extremely well. Not only wrapped in bubble wrap, but then again in a cushioned envelope. I have been communicating with GHBG35 on resolution.
-
I was the member who he purchased this watch from and no Mickey - the watch wasn't packaged to fell apart on delivery. I bubble tape the hell out of my watches. They are packaged tight and secured within another padded envelope. From there, I also have the PO mark fragile on the package (not like the PO would just throw packages around, right?) I dont know how the datewindow fell apart nor what is thta discoloration around the dial is. Here's a link to the original thread Thread

Did a search on the web and found some replacements for $3. I'm able to remove the stem from the crown - no issues there. Are the stems for ETA 2824s the same for ETA 2824-2s?
-
I recently switched cases for my Omega SMP. However, the stem is now way to short when using the new case. And when i mean short, instead of winding, when i turn the crown, it changes the time. I have an ETA 2824 movement. Is my only option is to get a brand new stem? What about stem extenders?

Lani- Great shots. Mine is on its way from Trusty. Cant wait to get it on my wrist. BTW - in person, how bad is the "sunken datewheel" ? Also, is the datewindow beveled? I thought the gen had a beveled date window.
-
Got the black version with white numerals. I love the orange bezel insert, but not the orange numerals. Too much orange for my liking. I wish Omega would come out with a PO line with green inserts. I dig the green

Just placed an order for the new UPO Chrono with the modified A7750 movement from Trusty. He confirmed, after I begged him that he would perform a thorough QC on the watch before sending. Should be shipping out soon and hopefully gets to my door sometime next week. Ill keep everyone posted.
