Why dealer pre-serviced watches aren't possible
triplehd replied to Rolexman's topic in General Discussion
Is that a knock against us Americans? I'm sure that there are many worldwide, not just North Americans, who would do what you just implied.....my 2 cents. -
If something smells fishy, it's FISHY

Just got around taking a quick pic of my new MBW. LionsandTigers did a fantastic job modding the watch adding a modded insert (thanks Palp), Noob dial, bracelet and date overlay, along with the gen tube and crown (thanks Ubi).
-
RT - If you don't mind me asking, but what was the price?
-
Awesome watch ! Maybe I need to add this one to the collection. Wondering of they can get the white version....
-
Thanks Marrick and thanks for making this watch look great with your mods.
-
Many thanks....don't know if the gen has A/R, but it does make a world of difference....now, time to get a gen rubber strap to replace the rep strap..
-
Similiar to my earlier post - Ultimate Omega SMP, I also had my GMT's crystal modded with double A/R. Here's my original review of my watch when modded with the OEM dial, hands and insert Omega GMT Review And now the pics......
-
Actually, I got it back from Flav like that (he re-inserted the crystal for me as well as the insert swap). Just never got around flipping it back. The funny part is that my bro has a gen Seamaster Auto Diver 300M Chronograph (2594.52) with the bracelet upside down as well.
-
Many thanks !!!! Definetely, if you can get one, go for it. That pearl does make a world of a difference...by far the best insert out there - hands down.
-
As for the lume shot, trying to get a decent pic....will try again tonight. For those who are wondering and PMing me about the insert, look no further....got it from Angel & Jay...
-
You had me going for a sec...I was like what the fxxx are ya talking about ?!?!?!? As for the A/R - I do not believe the gen has it or if it does must be single sided, but I could be wrong. With the gen dial in there, I wanted to see the waves on the dial...now with the A/R, no problem seeing those puppies..... Don't know what broaching is, but since the gen is a 2892 movement and the rep is a 2824 movement, no problem fitting the gen hands on the 2824.

Recently received my SMP back getting the crystal modded with double A/R by Chief and having Flav swap the old insert for a new insert - the same one used with the SMP Chrono. Here's my original review of my watch when modded with the Gen Dial and Hands Omega SMP Omega SMP And now the pics......

4th gen PO upgraded with Genuine Omega hands
triplehd replied to Blackrain's topic in Watch Repair & Upgrade
I bought the gen hands as well and had Marrick not only install the hands, but shift the Omega emblem up a bit (v4 had it right on top of the word Omega). Thinking of getting it relumed or maybe just getting the gen dial. -
Which watch do you regret selling (and wish you had again)?
triplehd replied to ubiquitous's topic in General Discussion
It would have to be my closed factory Omega Seamaster - TWICE. Had 2 of them and sold them about a year apart to fund other projects....totally regret both decisions -
They must love patroling Canal Street, huh? Get a watch, then bust a shop
-
Damn, that's too funny. Tell him only if future packages arrive safely without any heart attacks waiting for delivery

Double A/R mod.. 2nd batch done! tons of pics!
triplehd replied to flavor flav's topic in General Discussion
Yep, the SMP as well as the GMT are both mine. Both were modded previously with the Gen Dials and Hands. From viewing the pic, look at the waves on the SMP dial. Woooooooo....Looks awesome. Cant wait to see both of these babies in person and on my wrist. Well, I guess I know what I will be wearing this weekend. Flav and Cheif did a tremendous job, very professional and excellent communication. Want to give both of you a big thanks for doing this and making all of our watches that much better. Additionally, making our hobby alot more enjoyable !!!!! -

Many thanks Flav and a big thanks to Cheiftang for this A/R Run....can't wait to see those Omegas in person..... -
Thank you Marrick...you did a hell of a job moving up the logo and installing the gen hands for me.
-
Ofrie does not sell them and don't even bother - bunch of crabby SOBs over there.... As for transplanting the logo from the 42 to the 45, it is possible. Marrick was able to successfully remove the logo from my 42 and move it up a bit (the v4 POs had the logo right on top of Omega - so he moved it up a bit). I'm no expert, but I say yes (Marrick, back me up on this please !!!!!)

Wear it well. I have the black version and it's a great watch. One thing that bothered alot of people with this version is the placement of the Omega symbol (previously, it was not corretly positioned - too closed to the word Omega). But your's seem to be positioned correctly. Question - on your insert using the pic above, is there only side of the black triangle with the orange outline? -
Guide to replacing the Asian 7750 with an ETA 7750
triplehd replied to ajoesmith's topic in Watch Repair & Upgrade
Awesome job, but quick question. Did you have to replace the hands? I thought if you swapped the Asian 7750 for an ETA 7750, the hands (especially on the Chronos, would not fit on the ETA movement). Again, awesome job ! -
Just got back from NYC for work and made a trip down to Canal Street. I have been there many times in the past few years and yes, the quality sucks. SUCKS SUCK SUCKS....and while going to one street vendor to the next, you'll either have Chineese women whispering Guicci Coach purse and some Nigerians/Jamaicans whispering Rolex Movado....some had their little suit cases open with some Rolexes, Tags and Movados...ha, the Rolexes were quartz movements...hmmmm...... While I was there, there was a shop getting busted by the Cops - I beleive on the corner of Canal and Broadway. I peeked in and saw a Chineese couple sitting with two of NY's finest while another one was behind the counter looking through the register/papers, etc. So, I kept on moving to down east on Canal. Overall, its fun to see what kind fo rubbish they are displaying and thank God for this site, because over the years, this site has helped me learn alot about our hobby. When viewing their rubbish, I was pointing out all the flaws to my wife. The best is when the vendors tell ya they have higher quality of rubbish and when seeing it, they're still rubbish. rubbish I say, rubbish !!!!! And yes, great food in Little Italy !!!!
