When you say stem broke - did it just dislodge from the crown? If you have a caseback opener - unscrew the caseback and carefully remove the stem from the movement. Depending on the movement, you can place a WTB add for a new stem.

My question was more in general and not me looking for a particular modder. I have had worked done in the past by some great members here on the board that are not part of the MOdders section. I didnt know if there was a process that we have on our board on who can be part of the Modders section compared to others. I have used modders on other boards (besides Vac being here) since they were also US based. But i know i have read threads where people (newbies, etc) were looking for either US Based or EU based modders. So, again, didnt know if we had a process of who can be part of the Modder section, etc. WM had provided insight with his replies above.

True, but there are some that are on other boards that are truly reliable - both CONUS and over in Eurpoe. Just some additional options for our members here to send their watches to when needed.

As a member on all the rep forums and this being my true home, im a bit confused on why we only have 2 modders on the forum? I know The Zigmeister is away (I believe) but only 2? I know there are modders on other boards where there sections are closed (due to shoddy work, B.S, etc), but still, they have more than 2. Any reason for that? Not looking to stir the pot - just wondering why.

Ive seen the following rep at WE site. If i had funds, i would pick one up. Granted, there are some differences between the rep and gen - but those differences wouldnt stop me adding this to my collection one day.

How about the closed factory SMPs? The best SMPs out of the box - bar none. Correct HE valve, pearl, cgs, etc. I had many, sold many and now building some new ones.

The 21j is a DG Movement - its a dg2813. There's an upgrade so-called high beat asian movement - DG4813. Your hands will fit that movement. You're movement holder is plastic - so it can be used for an ETA movement. But if you are going to spend $150+ on a new movement, then spend another $50 on hands - why not just buy an ETA SMP rep?

Yes, you can either get a DG2813 or even a DG4813. Any other upgrade of movement - ETA 2824/2836 - would require new hands. Take note - the version you have actually has a date overlay - similiar to a Sub. If you remove the movement, you will see the overlay. Look at the gen and notice where the date window is? So, if you swap movements, you will also need to use the date overlay. Hope this helps.

Most of the hoopla with OMega reps today are the Planet Ocean line. Definitely a great watch without the mods - definitely kick ass with mods. Not sure why the factories will not produce a new link of SMP? I see they are turning out the Breitlings, Pams and other brands, but Omega is left behind - very sad. Here's some of my modded pieces (gen dials, hands, some have gen inserts, etc.) from the past - now part of others' collection.

Again, mostly junk, but if there's something that you like that can be used as a daily beater - go for it. Havent been to NYC since '04 so not sure if the selection is the same or if even worse. Go down and browse. Have fun with it.

I wouldnt mind getting a gen insert - but the insert will cost as much as the watch But if i were to go gen - i would need the 14060 insert instead of the 16600 insert? i could always just change the pearl to a WM pearl and be done with the insert.
