  1. Just picked up a classic SD (from Trusty) after parting with an original SSD v2 a month or so ago. Not bad - nice bank for the buck. However, not too crazy about the insert/pearl. I know WM pearl is the way to go. My question is for all my Rollie experts out there - which is the best aftermarket insert? Does WM make good inserts? What about these? http://www.ebay.com/...4d#ht_751wt_952 http://www.ebay.com/itm/SEADWELLER-BEZEL-INSERT-ROLEX-16660-SAPPHIRE-BLACK-/260922194653?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cc02cbadd#ht_3587wt_1139
  2. Wanted to publicly say thank you to Vac for always going above and beyond when it comes to modding/servicing/etc for watches. Third time i used Vac for his services and each time, he had reached out to me explaining in full details what was wrong with the watch and what was needed. I had modders who would actually ship back the watch and then provide an explanation afterwards - not resulting in a positive experience. Vac - once again, many thanks for your professionalism, excellent service and communication.
  3. Maybe, when purchasing and depending on what country you are from, the buyer needs to present clear instructions to the TD on what to say is in the package (i.e. toy, camera part, etc.) and value. Thoughts?
  4. Ha ha ha...way too funny. The trials and tribulations of trying to sell a fake (bad one at that) on the bay.
  5. Love his description/disclaimer. For those that cant tell the difference, only need to read his description once to realize its not real. For us rep experts, taking a quick look at the watch - no brainer. PLEASE NOTE THIS WAS BOUGHT AS A GIFT FOR ME 6 MONTHS AGO, I HAVE NO PAPERWORK OR RECIEPTS FOR AUTHENTICITY, SO PLEASE BID ACCORDINGLY FOR THIS FANTASTIC ITEM IT LOOKS, FEELS AND PERFORMS EXACTLY AS THIS MODEL SHOULD AND DOES
  6. Good luck with the project. Post pics when completed.
  7. I had no issues ever modding my SMP cases with gen dials. Had a few frankens - 2254, 2255, 2531 to name a few. im on the process now of modding a new SMP with a rep case. Usually, gen SMP Dials are about 30.5mm.
  8. Well, not sure what happened in Colorado, but the watch made it safe and sound to me yesterday. Only problem - got it hit with a nice bill from the autoshop. Damn thieves. Now, might have to put this on the market - catch & release.
  9. Geez, cant recall the exact figure, but most of the reps i purchased were Omegas. I wasnt big into Rollies - until i got a MBW Sub. Sold that off some months later and picked up more Omegas. Throughout time, i did pick some up here and there - mostly Subs and SDs and 2 YMs. However, all gone from my current collection. I may add the classic SD back into my collection soon though.
  10. Maybe the crown wasnt tighten properly with the stem. What kind of movement is it? Are you able to open the case back and jsut remove the stem?
  11. Well, the seller inputted the wrong zip. I called USPS and they had confirmed that it digits were off from my home zip code. Hence, the reason why it was routed to Colorado as it may be on its way back to Canada. Ugh - i should have been wearing my new watch right now.
  12. So, getting a package sent to me from Canada (used Camera parts). Not only does it clear customs and processed at the local USPS by the airport, but instead of coming to me today, tracking says that its being processed at the PO in Colorado !!! Oh WTF. Sorry - need to rant.
  13. Definitely a nice watch to add to a collection one day. Stop the raids and let the factories make this watch !!!!
  14. Raids happen everytime. Some raids make news, other times not. Usually, the raids may occur because a Gen Brand wants the local government to come down hard and close these factories. Well, when one factory closes - 2 more opens. How long have reps been around - and not just watches - bags, clothes, phones, shoes, etc.? China, a quick geography lesson - is one huge mother f'n country. There are lots - one more time time - LOTS of factories. Cant close them all down. However, guess what - the raids made the press which in turn will scare the crap out of some to not buy reps. Others, who have seen this before, will wait for how ever long this blows over to start buying reps again.
  15. They wouldnt know if its fake unless they open up the package. I have shipped stuff from US to Canada which took about 14 days to deliver; US to Italy about 20 days, US to Germany - over a month. There's really nothing that can actually predict the exact time it will take to deliver an item overseas.
  16. If you want to track an International Item from the US to overseas, you have to upgrade the shipping - around $25-$30. Otherwise, if you post First Class, all you will receive is the Customs Declaration number. Once it leaves the US - it can take up to -6-10 days to ship, but not necessarily delivered. Keep in mind, the destination's country needs to sort, customs, etc.
  17. The GMT reps have a modified 2836 movement - not a 2824. The non-GMTs are equipped with the 2824 movement.
  18. Wow - I thought the new TC Sub (possible WM9 v4) was the lastest and greatest. So the quest continues......
  19. So, how does the TC Sub compare against BK's?
  20. So will your wrist if you buy and wear this piece of sh*t
  21. Ok - great to know. Ill send it to one of our trusted Modders.
  22. Do you need the gen HE valve too to fit the gen HE Valve to the case or can you use the rep tube for the gen HE Valve?
  23. Ok - so i was trying to mod the HE Valve on the 5th version PO (since the valve is too large). Saw a tutorial on the Geek and thought i give it a try. Well, didnt turn out so well. I see that Ofrei sells the entire package - Tube & HE Valve. I have seen many 42s modded with the gen HE Valve. However, are you guys also using the gen HE Valve tube as well?
  24. Would love to see the quality from that strap. Keep us posted.
  25. Mary is a great dealer. Had many transactions with her and never had an issue. She is sourcing the SFSO again, but yes, these are not the original produced SFSOs that got raved reviews and were considered super-reps. These do have the larger rehault and larger printed numbers. But hey, nice watch nonetheless for someone to add to their collection.
