  1. NEver dealt with Texski so not sure if he scammed Concepta or if he ran into some family emergency. I would think if he had personal issues, he would have contacted Concepta to let him know. But without any communication since July, something doesnt add up. Avensis - do you have a phone number ?
  2. Keep us posted with any new developments. Again, not sure which country he resides in, but im sure some members wouldnt mind paying him a visit.
  3. Damn, such a f'n shame when sh*t like this happens. Not the first time and unfortunately, not the last time. What also sucks is that you will, being a stand up member, will now have to sell some of your prize collection or take out a loan. I feel for ya. Does anyone know where TEXSKI lives?
  4. Thanks for everyone chiming in.....deciding which one to keep. If i keep the asian, i would eventually replace the crystal. Or maybe just swap cases and sell the v2 for a discount. Possibilities are endless lol The brown strap is a $20 strap from watchprince.com.
  5. Bump - for hackr to take a look and weigh in with some thoughts.
  6. Ok - so the good news is that the V2 SFSO is out and comes equip with two movement options - ETA 2836 or the ETA Clone 2836. I recently purchased a V2 ETA Clone (same watch, cheaper in price). I already have a SFSO - custom built. I acquired an older version dial from hackr a couple years back. This dial was the cream version which in my opinion lives up to the description - because the dial is cream, unlike some versions where its literally white or off-white (and would still be called cream dial). So, here are some dirty pics. I love both watches but can only keep one. The new v2 does have the double a/r but my custom built does not (oh well). Im really leaning towards keeping my custom built, but wanted to get some members opinions regarding the dial colors. The V2 has the bracelet. Custom built is on leather strap. Give me your opinions.
  7. Just picked up a v2 SFSO white/creme color dial w/superlume from a Catch & Release Sale at RWI. Comparing it to a my custom built SFSO that has an old school dial (thanks to hackr), i think the older version is still closer to the gen. Ill take pics and have the members decide.
  8. Hack - you can always send me the watch if you're not happy with it Nice write-up from a great member.
  9. Agree with all the comments. The 6-9-12 layout looks too similiar to other Breitling Chronos. I loved the rep of the 9-6-3 version. I never had an issue with the movement/date feature as I have seen others post. Looks like one day, when i have some funds, gotta get me a Blackbird.
  10. I know that they have repped the 9-6-3 layout but i have seen a version (not sure if its newer or a previous version) with a 6-9-12 layout. Which versions to most members prefer? 6-9-12 layout w/ date at 3 9-6-3 w/ big Date
  11. I was...but one day, I hope to be one once again
  12. My beater 2254 (gen dial and rest all rep parts). Franken 2531 (Closed case, gen dial, hands chief double A/R) Electric Blue (One of Many) Seamaster Bond - White Version (Closed case, gen bezel, gen dial, gen hands, single A/R crystal) My very first franken - GMT - Gen dial, hands, gen rubber and cheif double A/R Franken SMP - America's Cup - Gen dial, hands, Closed case Second Franken GMT - Gen dial, gen second hand, relume minute, hour & GMT hands and double A/R crystal Another franken 2254 I had other franken Seamasters, 45.5 UPOs and 42 POs that i had parted with through the years as well.....tears running down my face just thinking what my collection used to be but i know they are all in good hands now.
  13. I saw some Acer's refurb 16gb and 32gb going for around $200-$225, as well as Asus 16gb around the same price. May venture out to get one of these. Also, from my research, found a new tablet from Visual Land called Prestige 10. Only one review which was positive, but may opt for the Acer/Asus.
  14. Agreed - especially when the TDs say, yeah, they have the watch (prior to buying the watch) and then getting an email stating - "sorry, no more stock or factories no make anymore. please choose another." Un F'N acceptable.
  15. ALL OF THEM !!!!! Omegas are my favorite...no doubt...i would like to see some of the classics - 2254, 2531, etc - reintroduced and repped correctly.
  16. Before i donate my left nut for a new iPad, i know there's a sh*tload of cheap android tablets. Reading some reviews, some are decent, but the most common CON i hear about the cheap tablets are that they tend to freeze and break down within a few months. The main point of using the tablet is for my children to play games, watch videos, etc. I prefer a bigger tablet - 9" to 10" in size. Anyone can recommend a decent and reliable cheap tablet?
  17. Even after 11 years...still cant believe it....sad, very sad....
  18. No need - you got the gen dial and hands and bracelet. Just repaint the numerals to match the gen insert. THis one is definitely a keeper. LOL - All of my frankens are on other members' wrists I do have some Omegas still in my collection, but nothing like i what i used to have in my collection.
  19. Definitely a rare bird....back in the day, the Omega Seamasters - especially the ones with the closed cases and even powered by an eta 2892 movement were indeed the watches to get back then. They even had the pearl correct. Yes, the pearl. Unfortunately, that factory closed down and for some reason or other, the factories today never got back to making the Seamasters as good, if not better (took 4 versions of the 42 PO). They improved various Breitling, Rolex & IWC models, but never Omega with the exception of the Planet Oceans. Wear this watch well my friend. That (along with all of my departed franken Seamasters) was a top favorite of mine.
  20. Oh how i truly miss this one But glad you like and nice touch with the gen bracelet.
  21. Kev- Nice Omega collection. Now, if you're like me (well back in the day), you can never have enough Omegas. Great job with the Great White GMT. Damn - i need a new job that pays a lot more !!!! I need to re-add some Omegas back to my collection
  22. Keeping you and your family in our prayers. I was in the same boat when our twins came alot earlier than expected and all of the costs involved. Even though i had to part with my reps at the time and throughout the years, all that pales in comparison when it comes to the health of your children. Please let me know if there is anything that I or the community can do to help you out in your time of need.
  23. Not that one - i made a blue one as well.
