  1. Why ? Shape of the drop or crystal color ?
  2. It's true that leather suits this watch very well. I have a preference for the brighter brown.
  3. Oh, BTW, here's the exact illustration of what I meant with independant links : http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?act=at...ost&id=1993 In our case, it's obviously not. I definitely vote for a REP.
  4. The bracelet looks 98% like mine. (Except my logo is bolder) So, 2 solutions : - either I have a close to perfect copy - or this Tag is a rep As for the watch itself, I'm unable to say, there are too many TAG models. Tell us who's right ?
  5. Silix is advertizing a 112H with 42mm. I just ordered one as I have the same problem you have (I wanted a smaller one) I mailed him twice and he confirmed the size. I'm not sure if this is reality or a mistake. I'll tell you upon receipt.
  6. Yes... with a "silent" H Well, best thing is to hear it. That does not work really for me, maybe for you. http://www.chronometrie.com/watchsounds/watchsoundspage.htm
  7. That's my only possible revenge on English speakers ! I remember how many hours I spent trying to pronounce the "th" while at school... Still unable to say it correctly today ! ze french touch
  8. Hi, for those who might have missed it. I thought it would be interesting to post a link to The Zigmeister's review of the 7750 movement that powers the Chpoard. http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showto...mp;#entry245096
  9. The U of Hublot is probably the most difficult sound to pronounce for people who's native language is English. Just because it does not exist. That U corresponds to
  10. "controlled by St. Gallen" sounds as wrong as "controlled by Amsterdam..." St Gallen is a place. Well, anyway, I don't believe any single word of their story. If you can get a chinese tourbi on ebay for 500 dollars, nothing can explain the price difference with this ugly thing. Is it plain white gold or something like that ? Does the watch travel in first class ? If anyone buys a tourbi from me at 10 000 dollars, I'll grant him 5 years warranty, a free bottle of Champagne, and will still keep an indecent margin. Oh, and I forgot : who needs a disinfectable watch ?
  11. Hi, we have all unmounted SS bracelets to fix leather straps instead. Well, not too difficult. But now I would like to do the contrary. And of course the SS bracelet is not flexible at all, as a leather strap would be. I am having difficulties fixing the spring bars. Does anyone have a trick, advice ? I'm using a very standard spring bars remover. Thx

PP are not the most accurate, but who cares ? The brand is quite confidential for common mortals I have a 5070 (see my signature). I find Vacheron Constantin to be very attractive, and you get pretty accurate reps for less than 100 dollars... Here too, look at my signature.
  13. Fortunately, and again thanks to the boards and members, I have learnt a lot about wrong movement descriptions. That made me buying Swiss ETA, so called Asian ETA 2813 or the Seagull ST-19 knowing exactly what I was doing. In this case, we speak of the well known 7750, with a modification that does not exist. Well, not a big issue actually, if I had bought the watch, I would anyway have gone for the Asian 21J version, which is pretty close, if you exclude the lighter AR coating and obviously cheaper strap.
  14. I draw 2 lessons from The Zigmeister's post : - sorry for the dealers but... some will tell you any buls*t to make you accept a watch. "it's a redesigned movement", "it has a long seconds hand"... Then you read The Zigmeister's post and feel like you're taken for an idiot. Which feeling remains ? - the choice for a 7750 is there to generate more margin, there's obviously technically no reason for this specific choice against a SWISS ETA I'm usually less negative while posting, but this time it's a pretty critical example of OVERpricing. Fortunately we have both the board and The Zigmeister to feel less stupid. I will boycott the dealers ! Until tomorrow...

Excellent choice, I like them all ! What about dressy watches ?
  16. Hi, aren't the LINK links supposed to be independant, I mean each link split in 2, right in the middle ? A shot of the back may help too.
  17. WOW ! For me, a Breitling please... Chilled.
  18. Hi, in fact the Euro has appreciated a lot against the USD but... if you take 2 years history of the USD against the Chinese Yuan, you have a difference of not more than 8% between the lowest and highest value (see oanda.com) So personally I'm not sure that the exchange rate is a major factor in the price increase.
  19. My Tag Heuer SLR... flaw 1 : brown flaw 2 : quartz flaw 3 : Link bracelet

    New Inge

These would be great to be repped (I love the first one a lot), and would add a bit of sex-appeal to the current non-chrono Ingies. I've been looking for an Ingenieur, but gave up, as the only one I really liked was the Crhono version, which I did not want to buy due to the modified movement... Let's hope.
  21. Thx Pug. Working then. That's acceptable for me. What I don't want (any more) is the real dummy dial, the one that shows digits from 4 to 9 and only work when you press the chrono pushers, as my (first and sold since that time) Montblanc Star. For the IWC Portuguese, I'm of the same opinion as Vric. Why don't they try a quartz version ?
  22. Hi, not from a dealer indeed... I think I'm going to go for a 7750 one, although I've always tried to avoid this movement. But as far as I understood, it's THE right movement for PAMs So, let's forget about buying at cheapest and buy one new PAM instead of two used ones.
