  1. Fortunately you didn't see the thing spinning on my winder !!
  2. An Asian Breitling SFSO at 160 dollars and a Montblanc Timewalker Chrono at 250... We're not very far from your budget (second pic from Stephane, thank you)
  3. I am wondering which movement is in the IWC..? And the Graham too BTW. Seconds at 3 ?
  4. Gens, no ? I would prefer a leather strap for the Graham. I said "would"
  5. In fact the white GMT does not exist either as a rep or as a gen... You don't like black or is it the lack of AR that disturbs ? In real life, you see it much less than on the pictures. But maybe once I'll do the step for AR coating the crystal, depending on the opportunities. On the other hand, it's surely easy to rep the non GMT version. But I guess that there is not a large demand on Montblanc reps these days.
  6. Updated 2nd june 2007 - welcoming an Audemars Piguet Millenary Limited Edition (Maserati hommage) - and my new watch winder
  7. Got it yesterday... A small review here...
  8. Did anyone notice it's a certified Chrnoimefer ? I wonder if the movement is a swiss clone of the well known Asian 21J !
  9. Once you own more than a certain quantity of watches, there are statistically less chances that you wear each of them ;-) And I know you own many !!! I love the white chrono !
  10. Hi, I agree on the fit of the Overseas... I have no idea how does the MB with SS bracelet fits, but on a leather dress I have nothing to complain. It's a pretty large watch, but as you noticed, the shape of the lugs help it not just "sit" on the wrist. Here are some wristshots (I have a 6.8 inches one) I really like this watch, it's both dressy and sporty. It seems that the SS bracelet is of high quality too. If you go for the chrono and like the color, I would advise the white colour, which make the lack of AR less obvious. If you look for a good price, I can only advise you to go to River.
  11. A small bump : one forum member offered me a strap + buckle for free The Montblanc buckle was the missing thing to have that rep close to perfect. A huge THANK YOU for him ! After sometime owning that watch, I can confirm that it keeps great time, that the GMT feature is not problematic at all, and that the power reserve is the best I have amongst all my watches...
  12. Can you store pills in the double-Luminor ? Or coins or something ?!
  13. Thx for the info. Very interesting... Well, it seems that China is copying about anything in the world... Watch reps are the "lightest" side of that business. There are much worse things like counterfeit medics and car parts But maybe that's not the right place for such a debate.
  14. At least I learnt from this thread that the rep bracelets are very good
  15. Hi, that's good looking. I have always wanted a stingray strap, but found it too "fantasy" on most watches. Wearing it with a black dial is just a perfect combination.
  16. Thx Stephane For the date, just wear something else on your right wrist...
  17. Do you mean... "Cousteau is alive ?!"
  18. I can smell the seawater and hear the gulls.. Refreshing post !
  19. Get both ! The Asian Steelfish is already a real pieces of artwork for "only" 160 dollars... Spend less on this one and get the IWC from the same dealer to save the shipping costs. Otherwise, the Breitling might look smaller despite it's 44mm because of a quite small dial.

    Rep Mont Blanc

Hi Corgi, do you own a gen Montblanc ? (no negative meaning in my question) I agree with you with the overall quality of the Copernicus and also regarding the dealer things... But I personally keep on thinking that rep pens (including this one) are far from the originals and will easily be spotted by a Montblanc fan (I am one of these ) , unlike watches which are really amazing as far as quality/replication is concerned. The rings of the Copernicus rep are not so well adjusted (at least mine) and will get loose easily. I would like to see super-rep-pens coming ! Yes, there's a real market : these pens cost 40 dollars for the most expensive, and I would easily spend up to 100 for a real good rep. And no, we don't need neither cr*py boxes nor fake papers, that's just making the price higher for something that will land in the dustbin anyway. For those who are interested in pens, here's a slightly longer thread on the subject : http://www.rwg.cc/members/Replica-pens-t22864.html
  21. ...because 111 stands before 112..?
  22. Good to know ! I'll do a search then. Well, it seems Sillix easily accepted the change. And I must say that the 40mm one I tried one month ago did not seem to have the problem. Or maybe it was not that obvious. I'm almost glad you told me about this issue
  23. Did anyone notice the sunken date window ..?
