The cartel has increased its power, and prices
Mike on a bike replied to swdivad's topic in General Discussion
Guys as you know from my rare post of pics I buy mostly gens. I recently picked up a Ball for a wee bit more than a rep. Lord knows I still have plenty of reps but in truth my cheap quartz ones are just fine to play with (surely have high end ones also), now they may be obvious to our guys but out in the real world just fine. If your going to blow 2-3 grand on a vintage that cost 60 to 100 k well that makes sense to me ( been there done that many times) blowing 4-7 hundred on a V whatever not so much. If I felt I really had to have a gen Rolex or whatever I could sell off a good chunk and get it, WTF is the fun in that I am a WIS I like to have many & my interest changes like the wind it's like trading baseball cards. -
It's going to be to late before they believe it.....................
-
Were any of you able to get on there and warn those guys?
-
Very nice at the price point.

Sgt how is the the fit and finish? Well you are getting another so ........... Oh this one one the way to me, always wanted a Ball. -
Stumbled into this brand for the price worth a punt. https://danhenrywatches.com/products/1970-automatic-diver-watch Automatic Now although quartz this one just so sharp in black dial version. But the winner may be the evil Panda. This pic does not do it justice follow link for better shots, one sharp watch and at 39 mm nice and small as I am not one for large watches 40-42 the most. Oh and beads of rice bracelet , you gotta love that. https://danhenrywatches.com/products/1964-gran-turismo-chronograph

Guys if you are on Facebook please join and warn those guys, as stated before I do not Facebook.

Welcome back and I think the guys are mainly building and modding their watches so not as much interest in the latest and greatest V whatever the dealers have out. But there are some guys reviewing new stuff just not all rolled up in one thread, there around.

For those of you who were around and or got burnt by this asshat he is on Facebook under his real name selling watch tools on a Facebook group called “Old Vintage Watches”. If you do not know about this no cause for you to get involved, those of us who were burnt know his name well so can stop by and visit him there. LOL Just be careful on Facebook they will ban you for threats and stuff use your heads I know we were all very hot about this but best to just warn others and shut him down smartly.

I wealth of information around here guys we have some very highly educated members horologist and altesporsche being two of them I will not go into the letters after their names . Wise in the ways of the rep world am I but I'm out of my league on this stuff.................. -
Sometimes not a matter of taste either if you scratch up the bezel on that Omega you can get an after market one at a reasonable price gen not so much, still you bought it gen it is but just doing a cost effective repair.

You should be fine.

Mike on a bike replied to 508-Fanatic's topic in The Rolex Area
I don't know about our rep suppliers using the same steel as Rolex, now I know some of guys could test it (they have the know how) maybe they could. Read this, call me pessimist but I doubt it comes close. https://precisionwatches.com/rolex-904l-steel/ -
Sgt. you mean the "buyer"........
