I'm in total agreement with you there. There are plenty people who are buying the image rather than the product. The PV Panerai guys are still making watches for example, but does anyone here honestly give a [censored]? PS. I am wondering how many of these have already made it into our reps...
-
- you will probably hear my laughing and applauding in the background..... (and no, it wasn't me with the cam)
-
If I told you I'd have to shoot you.....
-
The critics are unanimous. The film is amazing. I agree!
-
You haven't seen the Seawolf then....
-
Agreed. It'd be like sueing the post office for transporting the stuff.
-
I don't know them that intimately

I like it. But we all know that Franck Muller = raving queen

Are there people still here?

Mmmm, vintage Omega Seamaster 300.......

New 6th Gen Po Review And Gen Comparison Shots!
r11co replied to flavor flav's topic in Rep vs. Genuine
I was actually on the verge of buying a genuine 45mm PO because I was resigned to the possibility that a proper 22mm lug version wouldn't appear. Then it did, but it was flawed, but my hope was restored. Damn these new generations. I'd have my PO by now if it wasn't for them Comments - hands still a tad too short, caseback is still fat (clearly they are still fitting the one designed for the 7750 based chrono rep) and that Omega logo is WEIRD, but at least the datewheel is now sorted. If this comes along with a rubber strap then I'm there. -
Too right. I for one object to myself and my friends being referred to as 'foreign [censored]s'. If you are backing prem's position on this then please say so and we can mark you down as another shallow nationalist ignoramous. Binned, preferably.
-
Care to post what that was in response to? My reply is meaningless without your originating message. So you keep saying, but it isn't all that matters, is it? You opened this can of worms, so at least have the decency to explain yourself without resorting to childish and ignorant insults, petulent behaviour and expletives. Is it because the truth is hurting that you feel the need to call us 'foreign [censored]s'? Is it because I (and others) didn't applaud your choice and 'low number' of model and your sacrifice of extra cash as a demonstration of your determination that you wish me to go [censored] myself? Is it because I failed to deliver the right quantity of 'good karma' you were seeking and instead chose to point out a foolish act on your part that demeans every future potential Panerai customer in the eyes of your chosen Authorised dealer that you wish me to go ride someone else? Boo hoo my naive friend. If you don't intend to enlighten me as to what you were thinking about with the initial post (not an unreasonable request) then ask the thread be deleted as it serves no purpose except as a failed attempt to fulfill an urge for you to gratify yourself. We could leave it here as a painful lesson to yourself and others, but I won't accept being fobbed off with your offensive remarks. I will, however, as a compromise let you cover up your mistake.

I'm feeling guilty now.....

Somehow I don't think he'll enjoy it as much if the compliments he's been blatantly fishing for since page one don't roll in. The ownership experience isn't what he was anticipating ie. lots of fawning and cooing from the 'foreign [censored]s'. Going by the PM's I have received from him the unexpectededly negative but foreseeable reaction is what is upsetting him more. Well, tough [censored], prem. Ask yourself why instead of trying to find out what is wrong with me for criticising your actions, behaviour and attitude. The intentions behind your initial post were highly misguided. Why post the rep pic? What is the significance of the overpaying and the 'low number', or are we just supposed to 'get it' that it makes you and your purchase more worthy? Questions have been asked in this thread that you are refusing to answer - not satisfactory. You engaged in a transaction that may encourage further questionable behaviour by individuals acting outwith the terms of their agreement with their suppliers - not satisfactory. Time for a re-evaluation of attitude, not a let-off. An apology for the arrogant nationalism is the least I expect.
-
Total [censored], dadog. I was happy for you when you told me you'd found one of these and I was ready and set to buy from the same guy, but something told me to hang back. That was two times I didn't jump on a Seawolf Ti (the other being Chronomat's) that could have turned into a disaster. Guess I must have a nose for these things. That doesn't make you feel any better though

There is still one unresolved issue here ie. the identity of the authorised dealer that is breaking distributorship contract terms. However, I guess it won't be a problem for the more astute members here who may be unfortunate enough to stumble across said salesperson with their hand out, making unsubtle coughing noises. I'm sure we will respond accordingly, so ok - we'll let it drop. @Quarks - crown on automatic PAMs with date is indeed thinner to allow it to come out far enough to 'hack' seconds. Edit to add... How did I miss that?! Irrespective of the thread content, the above retort is nauseating, reprehensible and offensive to the overwhelming majority of membership here. I would ask you to keep your small minded prejudices to yourself in future. A warning at least is warranted, regardless of your hurt feelings.
-
Ahhh, now there is where you should have started. Informative post! But please stop blaming others for your initial mistake
-
Completely missing the point! And there, ladies and germs, IS the point. I would go further and say no mention of the method and nature of payment was necessary, unless it was done to out the AD as blatant rip-off merchants. Oh, and what exactly was the idea behind kicking the thread off with a picture of a rep rather than the actual piece? What purpose did the initial post serve? What impressions of the thread starter did it all present...? PS. The point about price range with reps is invalid as there is no RRP or distributorship contracts involved, and none of our dealers in my experience ask for a premium on their posted price on the fly when we send them a PM or email expressing interest.
-
I learned from the best Oh, and I'm still waiting for an explanation for the overpaying, PremiumPayer. Did they tell you you had to? Was it a voluntary Christmas bonus for the salesperson? Do you have an explanation, or are we supposed to accept it was a reasonable thing to do considering the authorised dealer will lose their ditributorship over it if they try it with someone with a bit more guts than yourself. PS. I'm wondering if this is the moment to tell you that the one Panerai stockist in Glasgow is discounting the whole range at the moment.....
-
Never! The trouble for me is I'm still not sure if you were telling you paid more for it than you should because you are a loadsamoney show off, or if you genuinely are naive enough to believe that paying a premium did you some sort of favour. Either way you look stupid, regardless of the watch. If you had kept that bit to yourself you might have been able to retain some respect. As long as there are suckers like you there are ADs with smug grins and attitude who think everyone who walks in the door is a salivating mug with their wallet and their [censored] waiting to be raped. Bend over next time you are in and let them finish the job, please.

Right.... Well, usually a post about a new rep purchase is accompanied by some impressive photography or a comment on how good a representation of the genuine article the rep is, and appreciation of these facts is what this forum is all about. Or, to put it another way, think of the number of watches, rep and gen, purchased day-in day-out by members here that never get posted about. What we have here is someone willy-waving, and inadvertently showing off their ass at the same time...

I'm with the doc. Awesome is one word I wouldn't use. Disappointing, however, I would. I have the Silix rep of this and I was always concerned about its lack of AR coating. Now I know I have nothing to worry about....

Mmmm - the rare RQLEX DAY TONA CQSMQGRAPH

If it is compliments on your purchase you are wanting I'm sure our members here will oblige you for a small premium on what we usually charge for them. PM me for my paypal address.....
