  1. holy hell By-Tor.. you are RIGHT! I haven't seen that in sometime... I cant believe i didn't see that... I still have one of those dials/movements lying around here somewhere! MAYBE, THE 'NEW' FACTORY IS THE 'OLD' FACTORY!!!
  2. i think i was too harsh earlier... this may be a GREAT REP for you! Some of us who have been here a while have had these models in the past... so, we criticize harshly when a dealer claims "EVEN MORE ULTIMATE THAN THE ORIGINAL ULTIMATE!!!" when nothing has really CHANGED on a model... So, i wouldn't worry too much about it... I'm sure it will be great!
  3. anyone wanna chime in as WHO is doing this work?!?!
  4. @tubbizzle i am sorry, for my last reply, it took me some time to type that out... i am sorry you purchased this... look at the bright side... IT HAS a "SWISS" ETA!!! do they make those any more for the Chinese?!?! look at these SEL's!!! ROUNDED off even wrose than the past models..
  5. lets see... where do i start? lugs are too fat... lugs are wrong shape... rehaut (chapter ring) is that of a standard CH sub, most likely too shallow... most likely too wokky... bracelet pins are probably too high AS ALWAYS as i see the SEL being high on the lugs... being tagged with another "Ultimate" or "1:1" or used "gen as sample" taglines... this DOES NOT, WILL NOT, EVER NEVER, EVER, NEVER, EVER for $488 hold up to the quality and replication of the WM9's, ETZ's, MBW's... PERIOD! especially since those start @ $275... So, feel free to go ahead and keep this thread going for NO reason! cuz i dont see ANY reason to buy this at this ASTRONOMICAL asking price!!! which i think is UTTER bullsh*t...
  6. Looks like wrong case design as always! Correct Small Lume markers for SS Black Submariner - WHATS NEW? Correct 2.5 X Date Magnification - WHATS NEW? Correct Date Font with closed 6 and 9 - WHATS NEW? Serial and reference engraved on lugs - WHATS NEW? Solid end links with end link engraved with serial - WHATS NEW? They look TERRIBLE By the way!!! Rolex dotted crown etched at 6:00 on sapphire glass - WHATS NEW? Crown Guards re-worked to perfection - NOT BAD! Give you that one! HOWEVER, looks like they were done quickly for the photo, anyone else see the jagged edges? Correct Hollow Mid-links for the Bracelet - WHATS NEW? Bracelet Polished to a Sheen finish - WRONG!!! Belongs on a Seadweller, not a SS Sub. And Guess what!??!!? THE PEARL STILL SUCKS!
  7. not sure a gen bezel works on this model... might wanna verify that BEFORE you buy!
  8. VERY INTERESTING... looks like the same description on both sellers... yet, both of these claimed "DIFFERENT FACTORY" for EACH model of the Skylands including the PVD... add that one to the list of 1:1, Perfect, Ultimate, etc...
  9. oh c'mon... you're telling me that the 'special' PVD coating is $315-$415 dollars MORE than a model I can get right now in SS... its $185 for Skyland right now... I'm going to call out "GREED" if this even starts above the price of an SA or even a V1 BS Skyland.
  10. so when will these announcements be made?!?! maybe i should hold out for my v3?!?!
  11. ok... so apparently i am one o fthe lucky ones that has a SA bezel that comes off easily... so after further inspection i have to think that it CAN be improved... however, i just eyeballed it really quick... 1. Circular Click Spring. - if this were made a TINY bit thicker, i think that you could get a substantial "click" hence the material itself being a thicker heavier gauge. However, i am not sure if this would actually work, as i didn't check to see if there was enough clearance for a thicker piece of metal between the bezel and case. i wonder if the same gauge used in the vintage rollie SD models would be sufficient!?!?!
  12. that is what i'm talking about... i have always wondered why the factories can't get the rollies sharp and short on the raised portion of the SEL... interesting since they can create a bracelet that's so sharp that it pretty much slits your wrist! (noobmariner) EDIT: CAN YOU PLEASE show how you disassemble the SEL? MUCH THANKS!!!
  13. well mine came off with ease after swinging the club around a few holes...
  14. I found myself in a situation while golfing... Hit a perfect drive and had my bezel fly off... Luckily theclick spring and bezel landed near eachother... I know what you are saying, "why were you wearing a watch and playing golf?" so don't ask...but now it seems to be looser. Would love to find a fix as well
  15. Love it! Cant wait for the misaligned dot markers!!!!! and SOLD!!!!
  16. case is still the typical rounded off lugs... when are we going to see some sharp cases for the Pan line??? it happened with the skyland and super avenger...
  17. Is the drilled case coming with correct pre-2002 serials? (example K199999) again, maybe a 93150 hollow SEL bracelet?!?! hint hint...
  18. you're gonna want to use the V1 case for the correct dating... apply the v2 bezel... however, you're going to find that the bezel doesn't come off easily (if at all) As for the dials, its going to come down to which have the best stamped numerals... As for the dots, to make it "ultimate", you are gonna have to send it away to be re-lumed to have a flatter and centered appearance... However, I think the only way to make the skyland more "Super" is track down a Gen dial... Extremely Difficult, but doable... eventually one day?!?! maybe, make some friends in Switzerland??? preferably ones that work AT or AROUND Breitling??? If you wanted more "ultimate" features, a genuine skyland bracelet can be found the BAY for around 300-500 bucks... honestly, i think you would have been better off buying two different models and enjoying those separately... like the SA or a BCE.. (if you don't already have on of those too)
  19. Lug holes! YESSSSSSSSSS!!!!! Who has the best HOLLOW SEL bracelet right now?!?! tell me Chris is offering this as an option?!?! not rain on this parade... but when are they going to bring a MBW-style Daytona back with the flat bezel and the ability to fit some genuine schtuff on it?!?!
  20. Mine is getting lumed just like the gen right now; nice and flat, so it should be the BEST, SUPER, ULTIMATE of the ULTIMATE of SUPER REPS... <- ya!
  21. careful buying dials on the BAY! i have already had to send one back due to incorrect auction description!!!
  22. but they said it was 1:1... gotta love this new false marketing, guys!!!
  23. somebody was lucky enough to receive a BLACKBIRD with a centered pearl?!?! (and some lume!)
  24. try to find the least abrasive... i use a maroon version of the scotch brite family which is a fine grit... this is what i use to remove the desk marks from ALL of my brushed bracelets.
  25. i apologize... what i meant to say is: the trick is to start on one end of the scratch "FOLLOWING THE DIRECTION OF THE BRUSHED METAL" (not the scratch) and follow through to the end of it... you want to brush it as straight as possible... sorry man! honestly, telling someone to use a Dremel especially when he/she doesn't own one, or has possibly never used one, is bad advice!!! those things are less forgiving than work done by hand... we are talking about a scratch on a case, not a total re-shape and buff... i normally use my dremel to re-shape cases/buff cases in regards to lugs, cg's, etc... jobs when 'some amount' of metal needs to be removed... you simply need to rebrush your case to look like new... a Dremel should not have to be used for this!!! also, the nail buff only offers a FLAT sanding surface which most likely wont work, since it cannot contour to the shape of the case... i do understand that some of these are padded, but still a flat surface! i would tape off all areas that do not need any work... that way to keep the integrity of the rest of the case... take the SB pad and work it until the scratch disappears! Then finish it by following my advice above...smooth, straight, strokes in the direction of the brush on the case...
