  1. My budget is around 250-350, black dial and doesnt have to be a new release. i basically have a very hard time picking a watch since I like so many of them. It's a shame the economy doesnt to splurge more often on a nice watch but hey I owe myself a little present every now and then.
  2. I got the .42 version working just fine, it was a rather quick update for me, maybe 30 minutes possibly less. I must admit though my memeory card isn't nearly as full as it should be so maybe the restore part of the update took less time wiht my Cuve. The options that were added are very much appreciated, the enw theme allows for home icons to go along the vertical and horizontal length of the screen and call me crazy but i think it runs a tad faster now.. Overall I like it. and recommend it for those of you who have an 8310,20 or 30
  3. I love my 8310 and can't imagine working without it..I have also been reading up on this over at CB and well i'm just a bit worried about the update (atleast while it was simply in BETA) I might checkout the Vodafone link or maybe just wait till ATT decides to releases upgrade? No?
  4. Levinsons is great, and so is the Aventura mall Tourneou (sp?) That last one gets crowded at times and you can seriously walk in with a $30 dollar Rolex and no one would notice.much less care. Yes please update on that watch exhibition!
  5. I'd like to thin it's 9:04 ??? DO I get a cookie if i'm right BTW it looks interesting, but I wouldn't hold my breath for replication of such a timepiece.
  6. I don't own a BCE, but I suggest loctite on those screws that hold the rider tabs..
  7. It looks fantastic! as it brings out the already nicely cut dial
  8. Just out of curiosity, is the strap not removable? If it, couldn't one of the custom strap makers on this board and elsewere fabricate one to fit? I see what appears to be phillips style screw ends on the lugs, are they decorative?
  9. I'm no expert on movements, Rolex watches or their respective resale value... But I can say that you can could piece together a pretty darn close rep for a fraction of the gen's price tag. Service the movement + graphite and a relume of the dial, gen crown & tube the lower profile case back a gen bracelet ? Just an opinion Of course if money is not an issue, why not splurge... trust your instincts (and the resale market value )
  10. Exactly as Nasosn said... Since this board and it's wonderful array of watch junkies saved u so much of your hard earned cash, it wouldn't hurt to drop a contribution and become a supporting member and help others by keeping this place going! Oh dear I feel like Jerry Lewis in his tele-thons!
  11. Is that an OEM strap? I love how it fills that gap between the lugs, and well enough can't be said about the AR it's a MUST HAVE on a watch like this. Enjoy that beauty!
  12. After seeing the differences in gas prices from state to state (at least in the US) It's obvious that it's more than taxes and who sitting on the big chair in washington, it's a combination of supply/demand and a lot of corporate america taking advantage of the weak economy and our addiction to gas. Oh yes and all those buying into the oil stocks at $100+/barrel Good work a$$holes! sorry i got carried away
  13. Naples FLorida...I pumped Mobil @ $3.65/gallon premium as my car can't take anything else. (or so they say ) Not to rain on our own parade in the states, but I guess the oil companies figure if the EU people can pay $7-$8 dollars a gallon why can't we? I need to organize some sort of strike on gas, maybe target one particular company that is charging too much and use them as an example...Stop fueling with "______" company. Go national with the campaign.
  14. Yeah you need to be more carefull, our little hobby isn't excatly mainstream and we sorta like it that way. Goin into any AD with a rep can be hazardous to the heatlh of this community and this industry. Either don't walk in, or slip it in your pocket before opening the door, of course not everyone at an AD is trained to spot the fakes and I would bet most don't care but still better safe than sorry.
  15. Please correct me if i'm wrong, this new movement looks a lot like the ETA7750 movement, and if it is a trully functional regulator it's an improvement in aesthetics mostly, as the majority of us will never bother to mess with it Notice the dagger looking thing surrounded by the "C" shaped metal in my perfectly round circle I believe thats what Josj is referring too
  16. Rob, ive been down a similar path. Even to the point of getting brought back in an ambulance ride to the ER. At 24 years old i was sitting in a clinic having dialisys treatments 3 times a week.. I had to give up my county job, my car and my gf of several years lost my place I had to move back in with my parents and watch it all crumble before me. But there is hope, it's out there if I found it so can you. Keep a positive attitude don't look back not even for a second instead think about how mcuh stronger you are and can be after all this. My prayers go out to you, best of luck with everything. Rxus
  17. Welcome to our little corner gathering spot, "search" and you shall find..but if that doesn't work, become a member and you won't have to search much
  18. Welcome to RWG Overture, you;ll find what your looking for and then some... Just have a look around and before the day's over Victoria will post and i'm certain she will be thrilled to see you here..she has the..gift... for watches/straps
  19. Thanks to you all! Lanikai love the pics excatly what i was looking for including the angles and close-ups
  20. Well if yopu consider the price that these 45mm PO are going for over at silix you really can't complain, not saying that andreww is by any means his post is informative regarding these so called eta's. I for one have no real issues with a replica watch using a "replica" movement, pointless maybe to go as far as etch the stamping, but it is to fool the buyer/dealer or both. I just would hate to know i paid eta price for a non eta movement. Eventually tehre won't be any ETA's and if watches are being copied in such high detail, movements should be a breeze considering only a handfull of us would be able to tell the difference, I wonder if the price of watches will go down once there are no more "real" ETA's?
  21. So lets pretend I called... Vanini1: Hello? Rxus: Hi,John? I just stumbled upon your ebay listing #25023319805, and let me say i'm very impressed Vanini1: oh really? Rxus: I would love to be a Kink and well it's only fair that I pay $6500 + 125 shipping to become one. Vanini1: of course $-)
  22. It's such a shame the same factories that produce the A7750 haven't come up with a 7753, it would allow a lot of rep that are released to have the correct movement and the DW issues that all those tri-compax watches have, which is the sunken Date. If all else fails get your hands on a 6,9,12 Navi It's what I plan to do
  23. your best bet is to email the dealers to see who can get you the knurled pvd coated bezel or like Anton mentioned u can conatct Angus for a ceramic version
  24. I love all the items you can puchase on the bay for 99 cents (oh yeah plus 20.00 shipping) Who said it was a scam?
  25. I feel for you man, my prayers are with you and your family. get the help you need talk to those who have offered it to you.
