  1. Welcome Vac, nice to have some local talent on the boards
  2. I had already seen some pics of this model going around a while back. But never followed up on them> I like it, but prefer it on an SS bracelet. Also this looks to be a rough preview model.
  3. Hmm, i wonder if Josh can source one of those fake ferrari's, not that it will stand out much in the city i live in but i figure the elderly snowbirds wouldn't tell the difference.
  4. Slowly but surely the $hit is hitting the proverbial fan... It's time those of us living in the US start working on our duel citizenship if you don't already have one.
  5. Shundi i had held back and not said anything about your avatar pic, but now that someone else brought it up.... I can't help but scroll back up to your post every time, it's like a drug. Keep up the good work. And regarding Rolex, I heard they were going to start selling more affordable Ceramic GMT II's by using PVD coated SS bezels
  6. if you have seen the movie Eurotrip, you would chuckle at the sight of a word like "Bratislava" I think that movie was never released outide the US for a reason. But movie humor aside I have seen some beautiful pictures like the ones you included Stephane and it looks terrific, enjoy your trip!
  7. Contact the dealer about possibly getting you a replacement screw. But the watch is very nice, that was also my first rep (blue dial). Get a tan leather strap and it become a whole different watch.
  8. Rob you took the fun right out of pronouncing incorrectly: You-Lease Nar-Dean

  10. To all of those who attened the gtg, Rob, Bubu, Mr. JFreeman and Phoband it was a pleasure to have met all of you I trully hope we can do this again sometime and hopefully encourage some other members to join us, and i'll try to have a better representation of my watch addiction next time. Rob, excellent work on your breakdown of the overall meeting. And enough can't be said about your character analysis..good stuff!. Nice watches to everyone, it's a shame I wasnt able to interact as much with any one person in particular, maybe next time. Thank you Bubu for putting it together. Rxus
  11. I'm by far the least experianced ROlex guy to chome in on this topic, but with that said i have to beleive that it would make good business sense to replicate the gen movement. Simple math dictates that if a chinese copy of a modern sub (WM9 and the like) can fetch $400.00+ how much could the same watch with a gen-like movement fetch? $750, $1000 People were paying that much for Hublots wich are such a niche market company, whereas Rolex IS the ultimate watch company regardless of what some people will say. It would take the rep sub into another level.
  12. I used to own one of the low budget chinese YM's but once I saw the pictures of the WM9 version I gave mine away to a friend, just the CG on the enw version is amazingly close to gen. Yes his prices are a bit off the wall for what it is (a replica) but as stated before, you get what you pay for. So until the chinese stop using a sub case for the yachtie if you want a "1:1" or close-to-gen YM you have no choice.
  13. I have a feeling it will be a bit awkward to just show up to an open place like the one we are meeting at and just pull out 15-20+ watches on a table... Or am i being paranoid?
  14. As usual great pics and the strap looks at home with that watch. Certain angles make the watch look bigger than it really is
  15. And don't forget to become a Supporter! You'll gain access to an incredible amount of resources not to mention some of the most knowledgeable Rolex experts this side of an AD>>
  16. So in theory it's ok to lie to a self absorbed ignorant person since they wouldn't know or care if you were telling the truth or not?
  17. I would love this in the states, but you know Obama and his brigade of left wing hippies would say that random drug testing for those receiving government benefits violates their freedoms or some other silly excuse. Why O why didn't Bill O'Reily run for president
  18. I would love to see a UPO in the flesh w/ or w/o mods. A BP as Robbie mentioned A fiddy if anyone has one. and a sub just to compare against my SD In anycase, just looking forward to enjoying a cold one in what hopefully turns out to be a very relaxing, enjoyable and sunny Saterday afternoon.
  19. Well ive had the watch on now for 3 days, completely put aside the other larger watches.. And it's starting to feel good, last night (Friday) I put on a nice long sleeve shirt to have dinner with the GF, and wow how much more comfortable it was under the sleeve and didn't feel as bulky when maneuvering around a small dinner table at the restaurant. Thanks for your comments to all, I'll definately be wearing my SD for the GTG next Saterday.
  20. Yes I realize this is not a pam or any Breitling, but am I just being crazy by thinking this SD feels small? Did i just pick out the smaller of the two between the Sub and the SD? I was looking for case size not really thickness, or maybe I should give it a few days and some wrist time before I give up on it? I just had to let that out as i'm a bit frustrated over it.
  21. The watch looks great, it's simplicity makes the blue dial "pop" out at you> And your story is an admirable one. Enjoy!
  22. Not sure if it's such a great idea, but it can't hurt to bring it up...If anyone one in the Naples/Fort Myers/Cape area would be interested in carpooling shoot me a PM. Just a thought as to avoid a boring drive alone.
  23. Beautiful pics and although I'm not a big fan of the yellow dial you really know how to make it somewhat appealing with those AD-quality shots. If I could make a simple request in hopes that it hasn't been responded yet, but the dealers advertise this model with "superb" lume...any chance of a lume shot? Or at your discretion possibly leave that for an upcoming written review of this piece, in any case thanks in advance Lani!
  24. Well I can't predict the future, but the 31st looks good for me. Maybe some of us in the FT. Myers/Naples area can even car pool to the GTG. In any case, I'm looking forward to it.
  25. Sounds good, i'm interested. Info has been sent.
