  1. Wow, what a knoledge nest this place...keep it going guys. I love to hear about the "transitional". Thanks a lot.
  2. Oh, that is right indeed, Jojo, thanks for pointing that. So, the dial is not repainted ? Hmm, I was almost sure of that. I've seen other genuine 5513 dials without the little "feet" and much whiter in fact. Honestly, the NDT ones are not little at all They looked like elefant feet compared to the one of your picture
  3. Oh Thanks Laz, appreciated Merci Trib, we'll have some cute project toghether soon
  4. Thanks for your words Frank. If the dial is fake, then I'm far from having learned my lesson. It looks genuine to me allthough repaint. Maybe the tropic is not a T19 ?
  5. My boss is in Stockholm right now...I'll ask him to set up an urgent meeting tonight PS: pls forward the club details
  6. Ok, well, I must say that I looked at it for a while and can't spot the mistake
  7. @ ALL. Thanks for your kind words. I share them with JustAsGood and MM of course. I'm only the modest recipient of their skills and art! Oh, I surely will bring it back with me so you can see it in the flesh again Jetsons The question is when will I have the pleasure to come though...hope soon. You will love it, I'm sure. I'm sure it will Dluddy, I guess who is going to put it toghether for you...it should be a great piece. Watch out, once it catch you...it's worth than any drug The insert is from ClassicWatchPart. The bezel I have no idea, it arrived with it from JustAsGood. Thanks mate. My pleasure. I love it too Indeed, this one carries a cute story again and some serious skills from other members. I love the watches with a story even better. And no, it is not for sale Thank for the compliment Well, our wishlists never ends and you are right, it's a pitty our bank accounts can't feed all our desires, but it's part of the fun too... Wow, she doesn't look bad. But having said that my watches are never in a bad mood Ah, my god, that is exactly what I was thinking about Agreed BT. Couldn't one say that the no date is the mother of all subs at the end of the day? The cycloped date is a nice feature but when it comes to design, the cyclop ruins it.
  8. Rolex 5513 Dear All, "Rollies Dependence Disease" said Mrandazzo (Now known as RDD) "Stephane you need yet another Rolex" said By-Tor. Guys, you are so right I needed another Rolie and this one is not only great, it was unexpected. Date or no date, that is the question said William Rolspear I have been wearing watches for a while now and always wanted a date. Even better with a day and date complication. From all the watches I wore, the Rolex sport line ones are my favourite (oh really ). They are simple, nice looking, comfortable, …so why not get a no date? I guess the answer is I like the no date now 5513 or 5512? The 5513 has less text on the dial. I always preferred this dial version. Since a long time I was hoping to get a 5513, possibly a good one, highly modified. What has been done on this 5513 before it arrived? This was presented as a MBW 5513 with Rivet bracelet by JustAsGood, and it is. It carries a NDT dial and also NDT hands. A Gen T-19 Crystal is installed. Gen gasket. The tube and crown are genuine of course. On top of this we also can see it has genuine Springbars. The final touch is a Slow beat ETA movement. The case has been modded including lugholes, shaping and CG's but that goes without saying. The bezel is a high quality aftermarket bezel assembly including an insert (that I decided to change though). I can't help it, I love the crown and crown guards on these Rolex and JustAsGood did a perfect job here. What did I wanted to change? I wore it for a while and was not completely satisfied. Ok, I recognize that I am a spoiled kid. But there was something wrong with the 3-6-9 markers of the NDT dial and with the colour too. So, I asked MM if he could do something…and he said "I can try!". The hardest think was to "touch" the lume of the NDT dial of course. A very tricky job to get the 3-6-9 markers look right and to apply the whiter lume. Look at the matching "white" hands now I love these "tiny scratches" on the Mercedes hand The other thing that the baby needed is a good insert: ClassicWatchPart was our choice here. I received a great gift all the way from down under from Bazz. A beautiful pearl. Now it's on the watch Bazz, thanks again. And of course, the genuine T19 crystal was put back on the watch. How did this baby land on my wrist? JustAsGood's initial post that made me send a PM right away. Our trade review. Conclusion Once again, I was fortunate to find a long desired watch and have it land safely in my home. Of course, as I'm totally unable to work on my watches, I'm even more lucky to have my dear MM to make the changes I was looking for once again. (Pls do not PM me for MM details. It stands for Mysterious Modder and as such I will not disclose the information). Thanks to JustAsGood. The transaction was very smooth and getting this watch initially mailed to a New York hotel where I was staying makes it even more fun. By the way, a genuine 93150 with 580 endlinks should arrive next week it will make this watch even better @ ALL: Thanks for looking. Cheers Stephane
  9. Not easy to decide wich one Since this one is the "youngest" arrival, let's go again!
  10. I only have a very poor shot as my Daytona travels all the time
  11. Amazing yet very interresting aging procedure. I am planning such a project too...great fun.
  12. I love to see such photos. It shows that virtualy everything is possible and how much we are watch nuts
  13. Ok, well, as already said Freddy, thanks for having taken the risk and share the information with us. The remaining question is would a 7750 fit the case. If so, then maybe some of us would like to buy that TonyDaytona for the case only. I'm pretty sure we can get a very low price if we have 10 or more interrested parties, what do you think guys? Cheers Stephane
  14. Jojo, it's funny you post this thought. I went exactly the same way and started to think at a certain point "get genuines only, they will keep value". But sourcing gen parts, sharing time and experience with "virtual" or "real" friends on RWG, waiting for crazy projects to be done, wearing the watch and then trying to improve it again, ...all this simply doesn't exist in the "gen world". Gen is "Pay, pick it up, wear it". Our hobby is "Read, chat, learn, wait, sweat, share, hesitation, frustration, risks...". Both worlds are about the love of time pieces of course. But this hobby adds adrenaline to it. Oh, I agree. If seen as investments, a fully modded Vietcase with 100% gen parts will never keep the value of the money you put in it. But I'm pretty sure that for most of us it's not about investment, only about pleasure and dreams. At least that's how I see it. Cheers Stephane
  15. Thank you for sharing this information Jay. I'm so sorry to hear your good money is stuck without having the chance to enjoy what you ordered. I'm not able to judge the accurancy of Pams in general, but I always was very astonished about the comments around DSN. There are so many bad experiences posted on RWG and yet few very happy customers that state he is sooo much better I sincerely hope you will experience a happy end here. All the best, Stephane
  16. Good Idea to post the blue one. Stunning watches the IWCs ! Thanks for sharing Max. Cheers Stephane
  17. That is a real bargain indeed. A whole watch for almost the price of the mvt these days on the forums ... I'm seriously tempted. Thanks for the info Avitt
  18. Oh Ok. I'm a little slow to understand. Well, in this case, my SD trilogy has been a long quest and is here now And my 1680 couple too (still not finished though) And finally, JustAsGood's 5513 now with a white lume and great pearl
  19. So cool to see you back Monsieur Tanfo Thanks again for sharing!
  20. Well, Dave, I seriously think that IWC is my second favourite brand. I'll get one like your UB7 some day... Wear them well
  21. It's a beauty Dave, congrats. It deserves a Swiss for sure and why not some Zig lume job That watch starts to grow on me, really.
  22. Well, I think I am probably going to alternate between these two for a while as they came back home yesterday
  23. I don't like your posts man. Sorry. I will thus ignore them.
