  1. Poor wee thing. Spends most of it's life stuffed in the drawer with the rest of the keys or shoved in a handbag
  2. It's daft. It will take that long to get 1200 people interested I'd be surprised if you get the first watch drawn. The only way you can attract a lot of attention is by thinking of the next big, unique, not thought of before, thing. Like http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Million_Dollar_Homepage If you can think of something that attracts interest like wildfire, you could promote anything and it'll be a winner.
  3. It wouldn't have an 'He' valve, it'd have a 'Cheese' valve to feed the mouse!
  4. I think you've got to remember that most (all?) dealers will have some staff working for them, and I think the "main man/woman" is the one that goes out and buys the watches we have ordered, and does loads of other stuff only they can do, so the other staff will from time to time be asked to deal with emails. Remember their first language is not English, so there's a problem right there, they struggle to understand us, especially if we use slang or other contractions, etc. Plus to them, it's just a job and I wouldn't be suprised if their standards are way below our standards. If I get a response like that I just reply in very basic, almost child like English and that has worked every time so far.
  5. Very nice, and I like the size too.
  6. I would mentally "put this to one side" myself for now. Try and buy a good rep from the M2M sales, one that has been serviced. You know all the problems have been sorted then and it'll last you for years. But of course I recommend only buying from long time members who are quite active in the forum and have good feedback, you know you will not be getting ripped off then. A great and very helpful guy is MoaB (Mike On A Bike), if you see something you fancy and aren't sure about the seller, PM Mike and ask him if the seller is OK to buy from or not. Don't worry, after a few months you will begin to learn all this stuff, who the regulars are, which are the good reps and good dealers, the risks and just how long the timescales can be, and before long you'll be giving out advice to other new members
  7. Will take proper pics tomorrow with the DSLR and daytime lights
  8. I don't know if SSTEEL does relumes but he certainly services movements and is a lot quicker than 10 weeks.
  9. Very nice! Is this bigger than the Safari you bought from me? I keep on looking at the M2M sales for another one, I miss it
  10. New arrival today - Sinn U1 fully tegimented, including bracelet plus rubber strap with tegimented clasp. Loving it
  11. At this moment I've got about 2 gens for every rep I own. The gens range from £100 to £2250, most are £500 ish which is the same as a "super rep" + postage + half a service. And the last two "super reps" I've bought have been far from "super" - the BB bezel is wobbly and the Pam 389 has just been fixed, and the case (inside) and faux P9000 plate are horrid. Don't get any of that with gens. As to the pleasure we get from gens (or reps) wearing off, that only happens if it's not the right watch. I've got a few that I still love wearing, maybe about 20% of my collection - the rest are nice to switch to now and then. (after 1.5 years, so asking me after 15 years might be completely different answer )
  12. Mickey disassembled my ZF Pam 389 today to see why it'd stopped running, and found:- They are small "poo" shaped bits of rubber that are inserted around the movement holder. Supposedly to act as shock absorbers. Unfortunately the ZFac didn't bother cleaning them up, so they were covered with silicone lube and hence slipped around (assisted by the completely loose dial). One worked it's way around to the stem and was then chewed up, leaving lots of little bits of rubber all over the inside of the watch, stopping it. A lot of TLC later and everythings been cleaned up, reassembled, regulated and water proofed. All for €75. Baaaargain! And the rat droppings have been cleaned up so they will do what they were designed to do and stay where they have been put! (supposedly gen ones use the same system - I bet not quite the same!)
  13. Nice one. I've toyed with the idea of using an old Hi8 camcorder to video the dismantling of movements so I can refer to it if I forget which bits go where
  14. Very nice! Great news on the PayPal but watch out for the idiots. Is your website this one : http://replicaplaza.net/index.php ?
  15. I really do think that EBay has implemented a policy where only complaints from the copyright holders are acted upon, everything else is just ignored. And I think this is done out of pure greed - they are content to let fakes be sold, sellers to not follow all the safe buying practises so the Buyer protection is not valid. For each sale EBay makes profit from the auction fees. If the fake is discovered after the sale and the buyer did everything by the book, PayPal will refund and EBay makes no profit. But some sales will go through and the rep won't be identified until it's too late and EBay has made money on the sale and money from the PayPal payment. There's far too many companies in this world that have no decency or honesty. Profit is their bottom line.
  16. There are of course exceptions to the rule Buy a TC watch (or movement) and those come serviced and ready to run for years. I've got two of his watches, one movement in a Omega PO 45.5 and one movement spare. Those three watches have the smoothest movement of all the reps I have.
  17. And once again, you have changed your tune. You have just agreed that PP have given you a full refund, yet in your previous post you ask why PP has kept the fees? If anything (fees in this case) have been "kept" you cannot have had a full refund. It can only be one or the other.
  18. Just released a new version. Very small changes, updated the Notes at the top of the results page (which now come from the XML data file so I can update them on the fly) and added a help button which displays the same notes. Enjoy!
  19. i'll lay good money on the fact that some Asian movements will start to appear in gen Omegas that had dead / problematic movements after this takes effect
  20. Make up your mind. Paypal has said they don't keep the fees, and they say you HAVE had a full refund, it's in your account, but you're still going on about some fees being kept? I think the real question here is why are you doing an absolutely pathetic job of smearing a TDs reputation, and totally tying yourself in knots whilst doing so?
  21. New entries added! Just added some "Daily Deal" sites found at RWG.bz (with credits to RWG.bz of course). Can be found under Watches > Daily Deals.
  22. LOL - who was doing the modelling work for your hands in that photo then?
