  1. Ok mate, will take them tomorrow. A bit late for me now and I'm in bed so the pictures would crack PC monitors worldwide
  2. To add got a couple of 47 Pam's, Pam 389 (another 47 but different), ~50mm skeleton gen omega in thin case, huge 50mm Bulovia chunky thing, so can do that lot to give you an idea.
  3. Lol, don't worry, I think we've all trashed things through frustration The last thing I killed was a computer monitor (old LARGE CRT one) by throwing a bottle wine through it whilst very drunk sitting in front of it many, many years ago. All they do is go 'phut' and a tiny whisp of smoke comes out. Cleaning up the broken glass the next day took some time, and wondering how I'm not blind!
  4. I've got a Lemania rep where if you reset the chrono anywhere between 1 and 29.5 seconds, the large second chrono hand doesn't quite reset to zero. Reset it between 30.5 and 59 seconds and it resets the other way and does reset to zero. The reset hammer isn't quite big enough I think
  5. That's very unlucky. I've got a TC YachtMaster and Caddel and two of his movements in Omega POs, all of them feel and run as good as any of the gen ETAs I have. I'd be tempted to send it back to TC as his movements are very good and as it's a TC sub he should get it working 100%.
  6. As you can tell (stop laughing! ) these things aren't my speciality. All I can do is tell the differences. You'll note I didn't say WHICH one was the canal street rep
  7. Personally I'd avoid the so called "ETA" 7750s as they're pulled from old watches, some parts replaced with Asian rep parts if necessary and thrown back together - without being cleaned / serviced. Stick to A7750s. (unless you can find a genuine NOS ETA 7750, which'll cost you maybe $425 by iteslf)
  8. The movements that have this 'feature' seem to be Seiko, Citizen (who own Myota) and some Omega quartz. Here's a link to a WUS thread with pictures showing this "reset pad" http://forums.watchuseek.com/f365/battery-replacement-tutorial-seiko-7t32-pulsar-epson-y182-287013.html Note the writing on the metal next to it "<-AC" for All Clear. Also note that you must remove the battery, then short this pad to the positive terminal, then put the battery back in - I'd short it to the rest of the metal and then to the copper coloured metal spring fingers as the above image indicates.
  9. I'll try and find the link and post it. Basically there is a small copper colored pad on the circuit board (May have to reach through the metal work to get to it) and you get a wire and connect it to the top (positive) of the battery momentarily to reset the watches computer. A bit like the reset button on your PC.
  10. I had a bike stolen last year so I added some interesting security measures. The first is a contraption that is spring loaded and accepts blank shotgun cartridges. The second I made a small bracket that's the right size to hold a large smoke grenade. Both work from a trip wire going to the door. I should put a live video feed in there, front and back, and accidentally leave to lock unlocked (and nothing of value in there) just so I can see the reactions
  11. I can't remember if it's this quartz unit but I read about one of them that needed a reset pad on the back of the movement temporarily connected to the metal case / plating (any ground), then calibrate the hands to zero.
  12. Ridges on the dial are smaller on the RHS one, and there's more of them. Writing is in a different place and smaller. Ain't just the hands. That's a special 1:1 canal street super rep
  13. I've got one of these which is 42mm, comes with two bezels and two straps:- http://www.armidawatches.com/a8-brass.php
  14. I agree with gran, it looks like it's just the AR that's marked. Send it off to Sunnydale for couple months and come back good as new! I don't know which version of PO I have but the gen crystal fitted just fine.
  15. Just saw the price of the LaCroix! Eek!! That store must trust you a mighty long way!
  16. Well if you're going to have an addiction, what better one to have than watches? LOL! That LaCroix looks nice and sharp! A decent size too or was it a C&R?
  17. SunnyDales AR is bloody excellent. Worth waiting for the next round. Keep an eye on his section on RWI. When he is ready to do another round he posts a thread, and then people respond to that saying how many crystals they want done, he keeps a list going until it is full, and then he PMs / emails you the details on how to send the crystals to him. His service is that good and popular he doesn't need to respond to random emails / PMs - although personally I'd respond as it's just manners, but I'm guessing he gets a hell of a lot of PMs so has set up his way of working where you have to use the thread he's created, and he sends PMs rather than receiving them.
  18. Oh I'd love a proper Damascus samurai, but it's impossible to buy them now. Any ones that are for sale are cheap tat that couldn't cut a piece of butter.
  19. Sounds as if the coil driving the main hands has gone. I've never done it but I have read others have replaced individual coils and got them working that way. However if you have a complete movement ready to drop in, it makes sense to do that.
  20. I've lost things in hotel rooms, never got them back. The cleaners always nick anything they find Hope you have better luck with the watch.
  21. This reminds me, I bought two bottles of dry chain lube to do some bracelets and then put them on the shelf and totally forgot about why I had got them
