Thanks for the heads up. Now whilst not the same, I too have recently been receiving emails from past customers, but instead of asking for money, there's suspicious url in them asking me to read an important message. I have emailed those past customers and informed them that their email addresses have been compromised.
Thoughts go out to everyone effected. Its about time all Governments diminish all IS cells with kill orders on each and every one of them, these shameless IS crews don't deserve justice. I read in the news yesterday that one such air strike aimed to kill John, the guy who killed many innocent people was killed. No idea on any collateral damage though. I can't help but feel that this attack was a test, and the start of much more larger coordinated attacks throughout EU countries.
I have around 20 watches in my collection, half of which are gens, and these last few months I have found myself wearing my gens more. That said, I did get the new SD4000 which I love, so that was on my wrist for a few weeks until I got the new JF 15400, that was on my wrist for around a week after deciding its so nice, it really is only best for when wearing a shirt. Today I am wearing my G-Shock.
If you are going genuine on the crown and tube, may I suggest you get new, or NOS items, this is from experience that many of the used Rolex crowns on the market are there for a reason, they have been replaced due to damage, cosmetic issues, or clutch functionality issue.
Ideally, store them in a cool, dry, dust free environment in the plastic containers I posted above, they do have a particular name, but I forget what it is now.
I store used movements in trays like these.. Untitled by Micky Aldridge, on Flickr New, or used serviced movements I store in the correct plastic cases.. Untitled by Micky Aldridge, on Flickr Untitled by Micky Aldridge, on Flickr
I don't service these, only ETA variants 28XX and 77XX, so cannot really comment on if a service would be better than replacing the movement. These movements are not expensive, and I believe Cousinsuk is selling them now too, however eBay may work out cheaper.
Glad everything worked out in the end and that you are happy again, I went against my better judgment in this, but seeing how excited you were, and then disappointed, I stepped in to help as I know you were nervous about returning.
