  1. That really is an amazing piece of work
  2. Lunchtime stop at a coffee shop while on a day out with Emily
  3. It's probably just me being used to looking at the fonts on rep inserts which has made it seem 'different' to my eye
  4. I totally understand the sentiment, it's like when you're walking down the street, and some jerkoff yells a random obscenity from the passenger seat of their friend's crappy car, sure, it's irritating, but at the end of the day, it just shows them up as being a loser... I'd say it's the same situation here. Nothing to gain by lying about having the biggest member numbers, just a hollow 'victory', as it causes the admins of that site to lose face in the eyes of people who learn the truth A bit like winning the gold, then being exposed as being a juicer, and being stripped of the medal (and the respect of one's peers)
  5. That is nice It'll be interesting to see what it sells for
  6. +1 That certainly would be an interesting statistic
  7. Absolutely, it's a little break from the norm of Sub dials, and all the more of a beauty because of that [Edit to add] The markers on the insert seem a little thicker than on Rolex Sub inserts, is that a Tudor-specific feature, or is it a sign of an aftermarket or repair center-provided insert?
  8. I have to admit, RG wasn't ever really what I was after in a forum, so the only time I ever log in there is if there's a linked article. If they want to say "My dick's bigger than yours..." Doesn't really bother me at all, it's none of my concern

Quality ink, bro, indeed, represents a similar concept to the Arabic text for Jihad*, on my right biceps: I'm hoping to have the kanji for giri inked within the next week or so on my left biceps, which I feel is a complementary concept to jihad (one needs to engage in jihad to uphold giri) *The term "Jihad" used without any qualifiers is generally understood in the West to be referring to holy war on behalf of Islam. In broader usage and interpretation, the term has accrued both violent and non-violent meanings. It can simply mean striving to live a moral and virtuous life, spreading and defending Islam as well as fighting injustice and oppression, among other things.
  10. Fantastic to see this as a gen Definitely my favorite Submariner dial, they're such a pleasure to read and use
  11. The bracelet blends nicely with the SS Bezel
  12. Oh yes, my favorite dial I'm not a huge fan of NATO straps, as I don't like getting them wet, as they take ages to dry, but I find them a bit more comfortable in the heat than the bracelet
  13. You know it's getting warm when I start wearing a watch on a NATO strap I hope the weather's good for you all, amigos
  14. Fantastic pictorial, thanks for taking the time to put it together
  15. So I didn't make it five wristies in a row
  16. I know what you mean there, I think the Titanic ones are a bit ghoulish in terms of the origin of the materials, and I think the proceeds from those funds should go to the families of those who were lost. The moon DNA, however, I think is pretty cool The Volcanic DNA I would like, if the dial didn't have the lava painted on. It's a bit like the painted PAM dials available... As an artist, I can appreciate the work which has gone into them, but as a consumer, it's not something I'd want to wear on my wrist...
  17. Thanks indeed, and I know precisely what you mean That's the look I've got on my 6200 project, but I haven't been able to capture it with the camera so it looks the same as to the naked eye... No flash, and the scuffing's invisible, flash, and the scratches white-out and appear exaggerated... I didn't want to go too extreme on this watch, as it was only supposed to be 10 years worth of wear. To be honest, I think I went a little overboard on the insert (although I do like how it looks, and it does lend some gravitas to the watch) Thanks, bro Go for it, the worst that can happen is you'll be asked "Is that a real Rolex??" This was the effect I was meaning with the sticker... The photos don't capture it quite right... The naked eye can pick up the fading around the edge of the sticker, but without the flash, it's not so visible in photography, and with the flash, it exaggerates the sticker Think the color of non-flash, with the diferentiation between the faded and non-faded sections of the flash...
  18. I was thinking entirely the reverse, I find it frustrating when people consider diver's watches to be high end fashion watches. In terms of history and design, these watches were designed and built to be worn by divers while diving, not luxury fashion items. Sure, they might be fashionable, but that is not what they were originally designed or built for... Rolex has a lot to answer for in terms of whoring the GMT into an icedout pimp's watch (and most of their lines similarly) and making people think that these were built as high end fashion watches. They were not... The very nickname 'Ploprof' is testimony to its history as a professional diver's watch...
  19. That's some mad work, amigo, totally awesome
  20. I must admit, the 79190 dial makes the watch a real pleasure to use
  21. It would be interesting if it was quartz, if an automatic movement could be installed Even if it couldn't, at least it would keep accurate time
