I seem to remember them showing a cure for that in Wings of the Apache

I shoot a pistol right-handed, but always shoot a rifle left-handed
-
I'm ambidextrous (write and swing a bat with my right hand, shoot a rifle, and do things like open doors/jars, and hold my knife and fork with my left) and have always worn my watch on my right wrist
-
Never worn two watches, but I would wear a 'wrist device', ie MP3 player, GPS unit on my spare wrist if circumstances called for it. +1 On Maradona (and others wearing two watches on day to day basis) looking stupid though. I mean really, what's the point? If a watch was so unreliable that I needed a back up, I wouldn't wear it in the first place, and would just wear the back up As I've said before folks, the right watch for the right situation I wouldn't wear my Suunto Vector clone to a formal dinner, and likewise, I wouldn't wear my DateJust while going abseiling

I hope you're feeling better soon

Nothing but a BS glib phrase... While I have had a couple of watches which were not waterproof (one manufacturing flaw of a PAM 104 which was immediately replaced with a replacement which was waterproof, one DJ which has had extensive case mods which prevent the rear seal forming, and one DJ which again, fogs up, but as it's only ever worn on a leather strap no need to get it wet) with those exceptions, I have had no issues with any of my other reps being waterproof, including chrono watches (3 Daytonas, a PAM 187, and the Tudor Heritage) all have been worn while bathing, showering and swimming with no issue whatsoever. Perpetrating the myth that reps are not waterproof needs to stop. While it is adviseable to have a watch tested before subjecting it to an immersion, I must admit, that the odds have certainly worked out in my favor so far

Have you considered a DateJust? They can be worn on straps as well as the bracelet

I think digital watches have their places and uses, and as I've said before, I get the sane feeling of achievement doing work on a digital watch, as I do working on a mechanical watch If I was going camping, I'd probably wear my Suunto Vector Clone rather than the Heritage, as I'd be less concerned about it getting banged about (although I suspect the Heritage would stand upto a camping trip quite nicely, especially on the NATO strap ) I have no fears using the chronos on the Heritage as it's a quartz movement, but I suspect the second hand would be just as at risk from hand slippage as on a mechanical movement

 Silix have owed me items for years, yet never lost their trusted dealer status... The cartel have been caught out time and again with Little White Lies and they never lost their trusted dealer status either (well, they did on RWI ) This is a very tollerant forum which always gives people the chance to make things right

Sometimes, but not very often, since most of my cooking now is done in a toaster oven with it's own timer, but in the past, I have used a combination of chronograph and timing bezel while cooking meals with different ingredients/cooking times

The stick marker will be easily put back in place, just a matter of decasing the movement and dial and pressing it back into place. With the bezel issue, that is even easier. Take the watch in your right hand, press your thumb tightly on the crystal, and your other fingers tightly on the case and bracelet (not touching the bezel) kneel down on carpetted floor, press the bezel against the carpet, and then 'push' the watch away from you, rolling it on the carpet. I've had the exact same issue in the last before with several watches, and this has always resolved the issue The traction from the carpet should provide the grip to break the superglue bonding the bezel to the crystal and allow it to rotate freely again Be sure to hold the crystal firmly so that does not also spin with the bezel

That's just sick

Even my CQout DJ works out at $58 when converted, so you're quite right there Indeed, a nonsense article, written by someone who only knows a little bit about the subject, and who couldn't keep their own opinions/prejudices from influencing their objectivity My watch is the best

W/C Facets of wrist mounted time pieces on a hump day

Happy birthday, amigo, I hope you've had a good one What's on my wrist? Y'all know what a Tudor Heritage looks like -
I think there's a product called plasti-dip (might be wrong on the name) which is a rubberizing treatment, might it be possible to get the PVD and then put the parts through the dip?

Yes. The original 4th member of the cartel was a dealer called King. Josh has the best reputation when it comes to customer service/aftercare, but personally, I don't trust any of the cartel dealers and would never buy from any of them, but that's just me PS Making the client pay the return shipping is standard practice with any dealer. Regardless of how indignant someone might get, the fact is that all returns are on the customers dime

Seller warning not to post QC pics on forum, is this normal?

Oh for sure, all the time they remain legit, I do think they're a nice service touch, I just don't think they should be considered the be all end all dealbreaker, and after the above post about the site update, well, I do find that concerning... -

All the time QC pics are legit, then I think that they do serve a purpose, and are a nice service for the dealer to provide. But. I don't think people should be having to post them for scrutiny, rather than trusting their own judgement on a purchase. Equally, I wouldn't want the QC pics to fall into the same little white lies trap that dealer offered 'waterproofing' was found to be, as that would just be counter productive -

Sounds like a good result That's certainly an interesting twist, and I must admit, one which makes me slightly uncomfortable... Sure, the site stock photos are showing a representation of the watch model being ordered, not the specific piece, and I totally understand that. And I can also appreciate that a dealer will update their stock photos from time to time as new issues of the watch are released, again, I have no issue with that. But the idea of a dealer using a client's QC photos as site stock photos makes me somewhat uncomfortable, as if they are prepared to use QC photos as new stock photos, what is to stop them using a new stock photo as a QC photo, and then telling people not to post them on the forum so people don't see that the same pics are being used... As before, I'm happy to order off the strength of a stock photo and rely on the dealer's operational systems to ensure I receive the correct piece, but that's just me -

Totally understandable, but what I'm pointing out, is had there been no QC pics, if you had just received the watch from the first set of pics, would you really have rejected the watch? Or would you just have accepted it as a rep in possible need of a relume mod (or even just lived with the factory lume?) ? -

Precisely As I metioned in my first post in this thread, and is probably common knowledge from my general posts, I have 0% trust in the 'forum trusted' dealers. They have never given me anything but lies, poorly QCd items, and misrepresented items (LWLs) to others, and yet the off-forum dealers have always managed to come up with the goods (as far as I'm concerned) sure, they may not be 1:1 Super Reps, but that's not why I play the game, that's not what does it for me: Name correctly spelled, hands, and a within -/+ 10 s per 24 hrs = Happy TeeJay... I don't need to see a QC pic to trust a dealer enough to place an order, and I think it's sad that folks need that confirmation, not against the dealer, but that they themselves are that demanding/suspicious/uncertain of what they're ordering, that they need the spoonfeeding Let's see some cojones here, amigos, roll the die and pull the trigger, but step up to the plate and make the call yourselves As before, if you want perfection (which appears so, given the need for feedback on QC pics) buy a gen, then try writing to the AD and telling them that the hour marker is .5mm out, or that the date wheel doesn't roll over bang on midnight and see how far that gets you (other than laughed out of the shop )
