  1. service time prolly The movement may be eta, but not new. They are all dirty and all of them could use a service. Its just a matter of time. Was not a big deal when you could buy them for less than it would cost to service them, now
  2. He is right, I just looked at it and the gasket is in the case not on the case back.
  3. Nice guy this Carlsbadrolex. Gold star and a zing for you.
  4. The 5513 is my favorite. The military dial puts this watch outside of the believability that i would be wearing such a watch and not have it locked up in a safe. If that 5513 dial is white letter like the 5517, that would be my choice.
  5. Its the Yoke that looks to be broken and I am 95% sure they are interchangeable between the two.
  6. Chris, Can you supply just the 5513 dail? If so PM me, I need one if you have an extra I will take it off your hands.
  7. Agree with alligoat. Now would be a perfect opportunity to upgrade to gen crown and aftermarket tube.
  8. Or you could take the free one that I offered you above.
  9. throw in another $60 - $80 to service a used dirty surpluss movement and a new movement looks better and better @ $125.
  10. A cheap case back opener- 1.) make a ball out of duct tape use the sticky to open it up. 2.) Use rubber gloves. One side has a powder so don't use that side. I have used both and both work. I now only use the rubber gloves, like the kind you would use as a doctor or when using mild chemicals. The tape leaves a sticky residue, the gloves nothing. It is impossible to scratch your case back with the gloves and you will be surprised how strong your thumbs are. You can actually get it too tight, so don't try to over do it when putting it back on or it will be a Bish to get back off.
  11. MBW modern dials = not much as they are not a good example maybe $10 - $15 - IMO. used movement w/ hands = $40 - $50 if nothing it blatantly wrong with it and it keeps decent time - IMO.
  12. Freddy, I have one that is marked 16200. It was from the newer turn-o-graph replica. If it will help you, it's yours. Edit to add that it's not the one above.
  13. Everyone can send their watches and the cash to me. I will take good care of them until The Zigmeister's return. Sorry but I can only take 100% working watches at this time. I cant wear, uh, I mean store anything broken.
  14. Got to agree with the Doc. Fake is still fake no matter how much $$ you feed it.
  15. looks like the watches listed here jewelryandwatch.com
  16. @ JAG DId you do those crown guards or J&W case ? They look great. I love the pointy guards.
  17. Go and find yourself some pictures of genuine watches and then make yours look as close to them as possible. You can use a dremel, a set of small metal files, or sandpaper. There is no magic formula, just make them look as close to your reference picture as possible. It's not going to be perfect, just make it look good enough for you to live with. There is a search function right up beside the upgrade button at the top right.
  18. Now that is a bold date font. Nice job Kruzer. thanks for sharing.
  19. X 2 I think I just threw up a little in my mouth.
  20. Looks very nice Marty. Congratulations.
  21. It's not hard to do with basic tools. If I were you, I would do it myself. I could help you with the basics if your up to it. I don't know anyone to help you, but I am sure you can find someone with this post.
  22. I dont have your email. I can write you handwritten love letter in the email tho. Best of luck my friend. It's a shame a few bad apples spoil the bunch. You cant be everything to all people, but you are first class in my book. Best wishes to one of the nicest people we have around here. Dont be a stranger. I will miss you. It's because of you that I had the guts to open up my first watch and try some mods. Cheers Lance
