  1. looks very nice. Maybe one day I will pick one of these up. A nice change of pace from the usual watches I currently own. One thing tho, is it an unwritten rule that all new reps have to be on rubber? There a huge surplus of rubber in China that must be disposed of or what?
  2. @ toomuchgear make that X's 2. I swear someone could make a nice profit with these as aftermarket items. You would be the only game in town and that is always a good thing.
  3. Congratulations stilty. So i am to understand your and your wife delivered your son? That only happens in movies. lol I would have been a nervous wreck. I am happy that everyone is safe and sound including you.
  4. Rolex001 We should build a frankenvintage and share custody. I would like every other weekend and Wednesdays and Thursdays. $500 is a no go for me. I would prefer aftermarket or $50 or less.
  5. I wonder if someone with some contacts could build up a few of the 702 tubes in generic form. I am sure you could prolly sell a few hundred on the bay alone and make out like a bandit. I would switch my 703's out in a flash to put the correct thin crown on my MBW's. Waterproof or not.
  6. I have one of these, but cant find the tube. Maybe one day. Edit to add that I just looked at the price and if someone wants to pay me $499 or best offer they can have it. lol I only paid like $65 for mine.
  7. I came here looking for a sub and that's the one I wear the most. Though its not a modern sub anymore but vintage. I have some Panerai and a Breitling, but for the most part they get weekend time. I wear my 1680 pretty much all week I find that I have been too broke for too long. My pay is suffering as I am paid on commission and the slow economy and weak dollar is not helping things. I have a long wish list for some new reps that I just couldn't afford to buy. Of course me having 4 children I kinda brought some of this on myself. lol I have my second interview tomorrow with another company and if I get that one, I will be buying like a man possessed. I am very nervous tonight though.
  8. I agree with avitt. I would hit that dial again with the mat varnish. My red dial has like 8 coats on it now because of a similar pattern but only on the bottom part of the dial and nowhere else. On the first dial, I would have The Zigmeister attempt to widen the 6,9 markers, they look malnourished.
  9. Careful now Uncle. Pretty soon you will have screwed up all your watches like I did in the beginning. There is only one way to learn and that is to just do it. I may have made some mistakes in the beginning, but it has saved me lots of $$ in the long run. I still make some mistakes, but usually not the same mistake. lol Glad you got it sorted out. Now wear that sucker.
  10. Looks great. Beautiful 1665 my freind. I do not have one of these in my collection, but I need one badly.
  11. Is it missing a holder and or screw? should be two case clamps, better find it before it gets lodged in the balance.
  12. That is sweet. You have too many watches, loan one to me. Just kidding, unless you were going to do it.
  13. I cant recommend Silix as I have never purchased from them, but many here have. Go read some trade reviews. My OPINION, Same watch, Save yourself some $. Asian 6497's are pretty good. It is a copy of the ETA and they are a very simple hand wind movement.
  14. trade the CSO. That skyland is the bomb.
  15. Dang it. When I opened this I thought you were going to say this dial had been repped. Beautiful time piece.
  16. Very nice Kruzer. How much is your budget for watches exactly, and are you looking to adopt a 37 year old?
  17. Yes, if I want to wear one of my Pams I have to choose after my wife does. My children are partial to the Fiddy and the BCE. Bigger is better I guess. My son carries a pocket watch that he bought with his allowance and says that watches are pretty cool. I have created a monster it seems. I like my 1680 Polex and wear them 90% of the time. The kids are not as fond of these as I am. My kids are interested in anything I take time to share with them. You would not think that a watch can equal quality time, but that is not true. They just enjoy spending time with Dad. I know one day they will be older and I will miss that time.
  18. My first was a 111f from Josh. Why closed back only? The movements are not that bad to look at. Inaccurate yes, but lovely still.
  19. Date wheel, from what model gen? If you have a source please pm me. The dates go the right way which it nice. Do all the dates line up good on the MBW dial? That dial looks bad, you should send it to me. Actually, it looks great and would be my choice too.
  20. HA HA. I remember we had problems with geese coming from the lake in to our yard, FYI a goose craps every 10 seconds and it is as long as your finger and our yard was covered in goose poop. We asked to game warden if there was a way to thin out some of the males and he told us to poison them. My wife asked with what and he said with lead. After he left my wife said were do we get lead? That's a blond for ya. Roasted goose anyone? One of our friends in Maine calls moose, swamp donkeys. lol
  21. I like the lighter cream markers on white subs personally. If you decide to go with the other, my wallet is open. What date wheel is that? I want one.
  22. Sorry to thread cap, but it's nice to see the rocket and his friends back in action. As for the watch......... more boobies please.
