My thoughts, I have received way more than what I have given back. I have bought many items that would not be available for sale anywhere else and I have made friends that have given me items for free that have helped me complete projects. When you are in a pinch and someone you have never met steps up and helps you out, you cant put a price on that. Since I spend so much of my time here, for me being a supporter was just the right thing to do.

You can get a used crown on the bay for $25, generic tube for $15. Why use the MBW? It's crap.

I agree, for $100 thats a deal. Still, Clarks T39's look very good and a dollar saved is, well a dollar saved. Or 1/2 Euro.

No Chit. Fact is, 99% of people wont know and the 1% that do know would be able to call out even the best franken. If I can get genuine parts on the cheap I am all for it. If not, I am not going to drop $1k on a fake watch much less A dial or A movement. Here is mine with insert - $120, crystal - $50, crown - $25, and a whole lot of TLC. Everything else is rep stuff and that is fine with me. And maybe seadweller3's mistake will serve as a lesson. You cant fool a WIS with a made over fake. There is always something that will tell on you. ALWAYS.

Yes a genuine white 1680. The reds are crazy $$$ and just an unfinished dial would cost many thousands. If you try to fit a 1680 dial into the MBW it will be garbage (resale) and that's not good. You would ruin the red dial trying to put it into a MBW case because the date dials are 1mm or so larger and would have to be trimmed down. On the other hand NDTrading's case would accept the genuine dial, but they are BIG $$$ for aftermarket cases. Go for a 5513 dial since that's what the MBW case was copied from. They look better anyway in my opinion and you can always resell it later. A 5513 dial would fit perfectly without modification. That's my plan when or if the dollar ever comes back.

If you have a money tree, sure why not. In the end your watch would only fool the same 99% it would with the MBW dial. Personally I would buy a genuine white letter sub with your cash instead. A good Red Sub dial is major $$$. Was this the watch posted on VRF?

I think it looks good vric. I have been thinking about taking the TZ class too. I have a few movements that I could play around with. I think it would be good to know how to take one apart and service it, even if I only do it once.

The white background makes a big difference. Wonder is it the same if you polish the metal? I would assume it would be best of all since it would reflect the glow.?
