I just got a sub from andrew. Lugs are completely stripped and the crystal seems to have no ar. Markers are stuck on crooked too. Also it has the Black markers from 12-3 which I only see in the asian 21j mvt. I ordered a 7750 and in the photo it had no hashes on the brushed bezel. How can I tell which watch I have? (i popped it open and the mvt looked like th 7750 mvt in the photo) Does the 21j look very different. Disappointing week for me and reps. P.S. Looks like it could be a good rep though if QC did not get in the way.

Not sure I understand what you mean about the WU thing. Does he just repay it to me as I paid to him? Yea..... it is just not a fun hobby when this happens. Now I know why I bought my gen 176.

Can I trust he will refund my money if I send the watch back?

As you read above the watch is dead. I opened the watch. Could an expert help me? The movement is not the movement that was pictured in the watch I ordered. The swiss mvt in the photo from DSN(right) is obviously the standard swiss I have seen time and time again. What is the mvt in the left photo? I just snapped that. I am now thinking he sent me an asian movement watch. EDIT: I believe it is swiss based on some comparison photos. Any other thoughts? P.S. He said he would refund the money if I sent it back. I thank him for that. I have my doubts about the mvt being swiss. He does not understand the concept of the dial being out of rotation. He really has no attention to detail with dials. He just does not think that way. Also his english is not good enough to discuss these details. He did not offer a replacement because he seems to think it is dial printing problem but the dial is simply put on crooked. I cannot convey that to him. Most watchmakers are obsessed with detail and in talking with him he seems to completely lack this. I asked 3 non watch friend to look at the dial and asked them to describe the dial. 3 of 3 said it was crooked within 3-4 sec. The case back is also quite scratched up.

Here it is! Does not work and here is the dial. I will update with davidsen comments. Right now I am going through the "I do not know what you mean by crooked" emails with him. Not to mention he has not addressed the fact that the watch simply does not work. If he takes care of this then I will be happy. We will see. Honestly it looks far worse on the wrist than in these photos.

It is running now and stopping every 30 mins until I hit it. The dial is crooked though. He knows there is a problem with that on previous watches and I assume he has two eyes. Just does not seem right to send out something with a reoccurring problem. One crooked dial is enough to never let the problem happen again. I will await his emails.

Well I got my watch. Crooked dial off to the right and DOA EDIT: Can anyone help me with what could be wrong if the watch stops every 30 mins until I hit it on my palm??

On his section of the forum he writes that if a PM does not go through that you are blocked. Also if he was not blocked I assume The Zigmeister would have mentioned that in his post above.

I certainly am not criticizing your choice not to work on any of my watches. You should be able to not work on my watches even if it is because you do not like the brand shampoo I use. As far as being sensitive.... We have never had a personal conversation and my only source of irritation for you would be that in a posting I wrote that I felt that the best hand lume in the world on a watch such as a Cousteau simply does not look like the machine used to do the gen. I have praised your work again and again. So it is not a matter of insulting you. I even stated that your hand lume was the best of the best in that same thread. Anyway, I do not wish to make this thread about The Zigmeister. Everyone knows his work is top top notch. I just want to know where I can get my 7750 serviced when it breaks down because I am surely not going to stop speaking my mind about certain watches and mods that are sold and performed here as a business in order to stay in good favor with another member. It is a public forum to discuss ideas and thoughts. I guess for me I think of your work as an art form and...... If you were a concert violinist and someone did not like the tempo of the second movement of your Beethoven Sonata you might say your reasons for doing it this way and if the listener was more opened minded about it they might enjoy it. One might even invite them back for your next concert and tell them to give your interpretations another listen. Maybe even a free ticket at the box office for them. You might be surprised that that person ends up becoming your biggest fan and supporter. Who knows, I could have become the hand lume spokesperson but not if I was told my opinion was foolish and wrong. Never underestimate being gracious to your audience and you certainly have for the most part with all of the articles and time helping others with questions and concerns. I tried on a gen yesterday and like this one better. Why you ask It was in the diamond district in NY and they "refinished it" and were so proud of there work. They buffed the Ti down to a no texture grey and then buffed the ar off the top of the crystal I think because the rep has better ar than what I saw yesterday. The new skyland of course destroys this AR.

Got this from another member. It is from eddie lee a few years ago. Really strong AR and some things like the old case but some things like the new case. Strange version. I like it!! GEN PHOTO ADDED.

Actually it is rather one sided considering I have never had any type of personal dialog or conversation with him. He states on his area that if your PM's are not going through that you are blocked and if you are blocked he will not discuss why. If he does not want to work on my watches that is certainly his right and I will respect that. I do not mean to portray his work in a bad light and never have. As I have said again and again in these forums. His work is top notch. He is busy and others might be curious about other options also.

I see that I have been blocked by The Zigmeister. We had a disagreement in a posting about hand lume jobs vs. machine luming on gens. I praised him over and over again in the forums but just disagreed on this one issue. A personal opinion of mine. He is a sensitive guy. I wanted him to service my watch because he is excellent as I have wrote again and again. Anyway........ I am not putting the guy down at all and once again i publicly state that his work is fantastic. He just does not like to be disagreed with. What are some other options for servicing the asia chronos? Any other talents here?

One thing is the principals of it from a art form standpoint. Gens are an art forum of detail and handmade craftsmanship. They celebrate attention to fine details and a passion for the highest quality possible at a given price point. (most being overpriced ) Reps while trying to look like this pretty much stand for the opposite. "How cheaply can we fool these guys into spending 398 dollars for something that cost us 36" is more like their passion. Just wish there was a little more pride in detail and quality in the Chinese produced pieces.

Too white fonts on the historic series!!! I can see them from across in the room in NYC once or twice a month. I have a few reps that are all terrific but I have a gen panerai. They need to trash them all and have the guys who make the HBB make a whole new line or something.

Anyone of you guys have any advice on learning to basics of simple disassembly and reassembly and other simple repair tasks. Tool kit? Watches to start on? Guides? thanks for any help!
