While I do not think you should wear reps into an AD to prove a point. Make no mistake about it, 90 percent of people in the AD's are morons..... The lady at tourneau who sold me my 176 gen told me it had an automatic movement. I was actually wearing my 3717 when I bought it. She said nice "tag". One guy at Kenjo called me out for wearing a "fake". I was wearing my Gen 176H These guys are not experts. Only 1 in 10 are actually "watch enthusiasts" here in the states.

Was someone curious how the Black Chopard GT XL chrono looked? ;)
chad replied to chad's topic in Other Brands Area
Couple of things about it. -The AR on this is different and far superior to any single AR I have seen on any rep. -The date font printing and dial printing under a loupe are FAR superior to anything I have seen on a rep. -It wears about like a panerai but the crystal is larger and maybe slightly more sleek feeling on the wrist. - the rubber strap it comes with also is far better than other rep rubber straps. It is very beefy. - the movement is beautiful. -
I broke down and got a gen. It is great!!

No double AR on that PO makes it an easy tell

Blood Diamond : Chrono avenger.....Just got the gen yesterday.

"""The other side of it is that most people could care less about your SFSO or IWC or whatever. They're aware of Rolex when it comes to luxury watches.""" That is exactly why I never got into rolexs.......... More of a cheezy status symbol than a watch lovers watch. (the gen's are made well though) -
Dsn and "best dial" should never be in the same sentence. :-) He does many things well but dials are not one of them. The standard rep dial with some work from vac/flav etc would be best. Be careful with the filled indice dials the luminor and marina are a very different font on the dial used to make that than the real g series.

Looks awesome! I am getting the crystal double AR on this watch. I'll let you know how it looks I know it is not accurate but hey, why not this watch seems to call out for it.

"100 perfect" to some members is different. Look at DSN..... He strives to make higher end watches yet you can get one that has a crooked dial and send it back to him and he will say he cannot tell it is crooked. The standards are just not there for 90 percent of the people heading up these "projects" It is cultural to an extent. (Americans like myself are not much better when striving for perfection of details on a whole) There is one thing here in NYC that makes me think of the rep game every time I see it. China or the city of shanghai has taken out a series of ads for buses and street signs here in NYC. These are to promote cultural awareness about the city of shanghai. They feature a photo of the skyline with the eastern pearl building. The photo is a grainy, blurry and looks absolutely terrible.(it is not "meant" to be this way either) One could find a photo 10x better with google in about 2 mins. A group of people that could approve this photo and use it to promote a campaign that costs hundreds of thousands of dollars are probably much like the ones that cannot notice or care to fix a short cannon pin. Yes, sometimes they are leaving room for future upgrade but 9 times out of 10 they just do not see it that way.

Uh oh.... Commenting on a hand lume vs machine lume on an aquatimer is why The Zigmeister blocked me and will not work on my stuff :) Regardless of my personal thoughts on the aquatimer bezel that work is FIRST rate. If you change you mind The Zigmeister, pm me Love to get an appointment for some servicing.

There is more a chance of a 1:1 big pilot rep being shipped next week for 248 than dsn ever making a "100 percent accurate" dial.

A photo like the one above is like a similiar situation I had with the DSN dials. If you are going to be in the watch repair buisness and be successful you need a keen eye for detail. You need to catch things that even the pickiest of people would not. I am not sure what is going on with that photo and I am sure that TWP will explain but you have to wonder how TWP could look at that photo and think it was fit to post. There is the disturbing issue.
