  1. Hey Alifizan... Give yourself a couple weeks before buying... you'll appreciate it later. RESEARCH RESEARCH RESEARCH. Once you know exactly what you're looking for, and don't have to ask for our opinion.. you'll know you're ready to buy. This forum has all the information necessary for any watch purchase.. I personally would never by from BK.. but that's just me. JKAY, gioarmani and a few other members here are experts on this watch (jkay has probably taken the spot as the official DSSD expert on the forum because he's kept soo up to date with all versions). Do some research, and remember the rule. Crawl, walk, run. Now that you've found us and the hobby, don't rush into a buy, without gaining the knowledge first At least that's my .02cents
  2. You have much to learn Daniel San.... Although the watch might look perfect to the untrained eye.. we could name off a list of at least 10-20 tells on this watch not including the movement. Do some research.. each version has its flaws, mary's version is no exception
  3. I don't think anyone is paying attention to me... YAY for misinformation
  4. I want one!! cant wait!
  5. can we get a mod to change this title..
  6. How many versions are there of this watch?? is it already to V3 status or is V2 the latest. I'm enthralled with this watch but know none of its flaws or version distinctions.. Anyone off the top of their head that can give me a brief run-down. All I know is that V1 has round date window.
  7. wow. I'm excited. I hope he doesn't charge an arm and a leg
  8. Thanks S. Anyone have any idea about whether or not the GEN is available with Stainless steel bracelet?
  9. Hey guys, I love the look of the new diver on Bracelet.. but I was wondering if the gen is even available with this option from the factory? I've been looking at Gens and haven't been able to find any gen pics on bracelet. On a second note, I'm wondering if the bracelet and strap is interchangeable or will i need an AP lug kit to change from bracelet to strap and vice versa? Any insight would be helpful. -Fender
  10. so when will these Taka crystals be ready?? can anyone provide instructions on how to remove the crystal from these new 253/286 212/213 reps? PeteM tried a while back without success.. I was in the process of a crystal project.. but to no avail. BigE and BigCrown were also in the middle of a crystal project to no avail... this watch and it's crystal story has been a never ending one!
  11. Considering Francisco lives on the beach.. (he lives in Valencia), i'm sure you're right. Hope he's enjoying his well-earned and deserved vacay!
  12. Hey Jamdot.. how are the watches? any pics??
  13. Permabull.... couldn't have said it better No excuse for us to fudge it up on the forum though. Besides enthusiasm for watches in general, this forum is supposed to be a portal of accurate and reliable information. Someone change this title please to 3799.. this is not a 3789
  14. +1 to cornerstone! don't remember having any specific conversations with you, but that pumpkin avatar is unforgettable! haha.. welcome back!
  15. Hey guys, Anyone heard from Francisco in the last month? His mailbox is full. I really hope he's doing ok. Been a while since I've seen him around.
  16. I wish someone would change the model name in the title of this thread... it's a pretty popular thread.. and the model name is just SCREAMING misinformation.. Specifically for a lot of noobs! just because the dealers make the mistake.. doesn't mean we should continue it..
  17. when is friend smashed into that bridge, i was like HOLY [censored]!
  18. What's up jeffers! nice to have you on board!
  19. yeah.. that was like a dissertation. Give us a break mr.watchgeek.... took me 20 min to finish your post!!! haha.. welcome to the jungle brother
  20. Welcome n00b! hope you find your way around. Any help or questions, please don't hesitate to shoot me a holler. Cheers and greetings from Madrid, Spain
  21. Good afternoon and welcome to the forum! Hope to see you around!
  22. Hey there.. Never heard of a sapphire bezel.... but maybe you mean Sapphire crystal. Depends on what crystal you're talking about... All sapphire crystals are not created equal! In any case.. Welcome to the jungle! Enjoy!
  23. Quick answer: No such thing as a perfect rep. PERIOD Long Answer: No such thing as a perfect rep PERIOOOOOOOOOD! Answer you're probably looking for: If you've been on the forum for 6 months already.. you should know the faults of your question. The list of "near" perfect reps is VERY long. If you simply don't want to get "called out", about 90% of all the popular reps at the monent will suit you just fine as long as you're not among crazy rep fanatics like US in the board room. Even WE often need a loupe and a good long hard look to tell if lots of these new watches are reps. Flawless. NEVER. Pretty damn good. Yes
  24. But Bill Gates and Warren Buffett are not exceptionally talented are they? and if they are.. aren't there people just as talented in the world that don't make it..?? Talent might have something to do with it. But like I said before.. the best indicator of how whether a person will ascend the socio-economic scale is the socio-economic status of his or her parents. Bill Gates and Warren Buffet come from well-to-do families.. Bill Gates' success doesn't have so much to do with his work ethic as it does to his special and unique circumstances. (As Pug stated)
  25. Credentials as an economist? At no point have I ever said that I'm an economist. I'm simply finishing a master's degree in International Relations and Economics with a concentration in Geo-economics and Geopolitics. A mere student of sorts. Economy is interesting, but I didn't mean to sound the voice of authority on the subject. Simply trying to put my thoughts in context to my background. As far as your argument against my statement that people that work the most hours categorically earn less money than people that work less hours (at least in occupations with higher earning-inequality). Refer to Linda A. Bell. She's a professor of Economics at Haverford and has written several papers on the subject. She came to speak to my class this year in Madrid and we talked specifically about this subject. I don't claim to be an expert, simply a student, but the academics are there none-the-less.
