  1. Arcangel, great photo skills and very nice watch. Post a picture of that jacket, too
  2. I was offered a new AP 15300 with a Miyota movement and sapphire crystal with s/s bracelet for 160 €. Does any one here have some experience with these APs? Is the price OK? I did not look for an AP in the first place but the deal looks tempting and I can look at the watch before I buy it. What do I need to look out for on these? Any help would be much appreciated! M
  3. I guess it's 36mm, rosegold case, hand winding movement. Not sure about the exact year, but would have to be very late 30s - mid 40s.
  4. Pick up the UG from customs on Friday. Very nice watch and feels amazing with a newly added brown leather strap. I figured out that the Omega Geneve 266 movement looks very much the same as the UG 1200 movement, both manual winders. Does anyone know the difference? Both movements are from the 1950s and look very close if not the same.
  5. Anyway, done extensive research on the brand, bought the watch and look forward having the Vanguard in hand soon.
  6. I do things like that, as well. My gen Omega Speedy is on a nylon strap from time to time, which looks quite cool.
  7. Chronoluvv, I am with you bro
  8. Hello fellow watch fanatics, I just stumbled across a bauhaus style Universal Geneve Vanguard with black dial and a 1200 caliber. What do you think of the brand in terms of reputation? Would you consider Universal Geneve a luxury watch brand and on which level would you rate the brand? Comparable to vintage Omegas or vintage THs? I read somewhere that these watches are vintage collector's wet dream but I have never seen or heard of the brand before. Thank you in advance for your thoughts. M
  9. Yes, please. It is very difficult - I haven't managed to find a rep friendly WS in the south of germany yet.
  10. I love the 16XX versions. Difficult enough to catch one....
  11. Sorry, not my cup of tea... the snow flake dials always remind me of lego bricks! However, I like Tudors mucho
  12. Just got a pair of Testa di Shuro Chelsea boots. They are very nice, and I do not even dare to wear them...
  13. Well done, sending it back is always a risk, not only to China as I can confirm
  14. Anyone got experience with "Testa di Shuro"?
  15. Nice ones. I used to own a pocket watch when I was thirteen (watch nerd ever since) but there are very few occasions when one can sport a pocket watch without looking nerdy
  16. Does any TD sell the speedy "reduced"? I always thought the speedy pro is too big and I want a rep reduced to go with my gen reduced.
  17. The Speedy Automatic, aka "reduced" would start straight away. If not, you need an overhaul. I did get mine serviced four years ago at 350 €. It looked like new afterwards (all its life was polished off, which I did not ask for and do not like) and I have worn it vigorously since to make it look its real age again.
  18. I was in contact with sead earlier today and he might have something up his sleeve. A 16014 would be an acceptable alternative, as well
  19. Does anybody know a TD who is selling rep 1603 with stick markers and machined bezel, rather than fluted or domed bezel? I have looked around for ages and can not find the machined bezel version anywhere... I like the looks of Castro's all gen dj a lot! Let me know if you decide to sell yours
  20. I like the Rolex better. 42mm seem too big for my liking. But that's just me. Enjoy your couple!
  21. Where did you buy your bb?
  22. I got three to choose from: Omega Speedmaster Automatic, Rolex Sub Hulk or Rolex GMT II. Although I like the GMT II the most, it does not go so well with formal attire. The Hulk is doing a great job with a suite but then it can be a little too big on MY wrist. So, letting my gutt making the decision, it would be the Omega Speedmaster Automatic, which I am really attached to and it was my first gen.
  23. Most definitely want one, too..... this looks very nice and it seems to be more wearable than a Rolerai Hornlug. What size in mm is the case exactly?
