  1. Hmm, thanks for the feedback. I might be tempted to get one to check out. At least the 7206 bracelet could be worth to have.
  2. What is the general opinion on the new Vintage GMT-Masters which are out at Puretime..? I cant find that it has been discussed anywhere, or are these similar to the previous "prototypes"? I am surprised to see this out just before CNY. 6542 Coke White dial
  3. I returned a watch to China last autumn (a Ploproof to Joshua). The tracking showed that it quickly arrived in China, and then was stuck for a month.. After a month and a half, I got the tracking number for the return. This is the story: post on RWG. So, I consider it safe, but it will take several weeks..
  4. Great watch, and a good choice! I have the old model, date only. Very pleased with that. Do you have a caseback shot?
  5. They should use those movements in the vintage reps...
  6. Great watch! Multifunction watches are cool. It reminds me of my old Breitling Aerospaces.. There is a replica version of this. Not to shabby, shame about the round pushers and lack of crown guards.
  7. Great watch. Simple and classy. That nicely decorated ETA-movement really suits the style.
  8. Happy new year to all RWG members! Best wishes for replica hunting in 2011 Here in Norway it is 11 PM. I am wearing my gen vintage Datejust, presicion timed for the occasion. I got an USD microscope for Christmas, here is a fresh photo.
  9. Normally, fakes are not popular on Timezone. However this post includes an old article from Popular Science in 1971. It sheds some light on the "vintage replicas". Back in these days, the fakes were of Bulova (Bolivia), Longines (Longune/ Longjeans), Omega (Onega) and Hamilton (Homilton).. Strangely, Rolex is not mentioned. http://forums.timezone.com/index.php?t=msg&th=1542977&rid=0#msg_5304391 Just like today, one of the important sections of the article is " How to spot a fake". This post on TZ also have some nice pictures of a 1960ties Omega fake.. A classic in its own right! Times have changed..
  10. I returned a watch to China on September 28th. It arrived in China on September 30th, then it was stuck until late October. One tracking update on October 15th, that it had arrived in Guangzho.. Finally, on November 4th, I got a mail from the seller with the tracking number for the returned watch. Finally, my Ploprof arrived home three days ago.. So 8-10 weeks seems reasonable (this was from Norway).
  11. Excellent watch, these simple Rolexes are among the most classic styles ever produced. If regular sized cases come back in fashion, these will sure be more popular.
  12. By curiosity.. Does anyone know why it is no longer possible to contact sellers to ask if they can ship outside US? I would like to bid on this one..
  13. I stumbled across this vintage, beaten-up Zodiac Sea-Chron chronograph on eBay, and it is worth a tip. Although it is not described in the ad, I think it has a desirable Valjoux 72 movement. I could be a nice grab for someone looking to build a vintage Daytona rep, and due to the odd listing it might go cheap. Unfortunately for us in "the old world", there is no shipping outside the US, and the eBay-nazies would not let me contact the seller... http://cgi.ebay.com/VINTAGE-ZODIAC-CHRONOGRAPH-WRISTWATCH-/160507543628?pt=Wristwatches&hash=item255efec04c I remembered reading about a Daytona-franken with a Zodiac V72 movement some time ago. Here is the old post from RWG Sales Corner. Good luck, if someone bids!
  14. Cool topic! Here are some of my oldies. Most of them are far gone by now. Old Breitling rep. Bought from Silixtime in 2005. Even older Breitling rep. Bought in Chinatown in Kuala Lumpur in 2002.. ( I am ashamed that I actually wore this.. Luckily it was just as crappy as it looks, and lasted a month.) Omega X-33 replica, ca 2005. Cheap, but quite cool. Complicated piece. It even had blue backlight. I never managed to figure out how to deactivate the daily alarm. Another piece from KL in 2002 was this nice Monza. It was the very watch which got me into replicas. Quartz-powered, but a good looker and excellent performer. White Tag Heuer Link, Silix, ca 2006. One of my very best and most believable replicas out of the box, ever.
  15. Impressive stuff.. It makes me think of Salvador Dali.
  16. After a quick glance, I was pretty sure that it is that it was a gen Breitling Chronomat... Until I looked at the subdials! A 7750 should have running seconds at 9 (0-60 counter), Hour counter at 6 (1-12) and minutes counter at 12 (0-60). I guess this has some sort of Asian automatic, with constant running center seconds hand. But, I have never seen such a good replica of this model... Here they appear to have got many details correct for a 1980-90ties Chronomat! The often wrong "B" on the chrono seconds hand looks ok, but the hand is too short. Normal flaw for a vintage replica. Case shape, bezel, bracelet and dial looks rather good. At least to me! Have a look at eBay for pictures of the vintage Chronomats. Fun to see one with yellow dial!
  17. Yes, there are lot of weird stuff on eBay.. That 8-days is not to shabby.. I like the engravings on the movement. Much better than the stick-on markers our Chinese friends use. Dial markings looks ok for a vintage piece. Could be a good buy if one likes a "big" vintage Rolex, and does not worry about accuracy.
  18. Here is the biggest 48mm Rolex for you.... ww2 Rolex
  19. By some coincidence, I got to be member 666 "The number of the beast".. So thinking that an avatar should be something I would like to watch, and have a connection to my membership: I started to look for a good-looking girl in "devil-outfit". These small pixelated avatars seemed cool. Here are some others which I considered to change around. But the little blonde with the shy smile and a tail has followed me in four years. Think I am stuck with her.
  20. Tjänare grabben! Welcome to the forum. I see you have the exact same watch box as me, bought from Panatime. What kind of watch is number two from right in the upper line? It reminds me of some vintage Breitling replicas which were sold about three years ago.
  21. Yep, the watch in the link is a "fake fake", a gen. There is no good replica of the B-1, Airwolf or the Aerospace. There are some decent cheap stuff around, if you are not concerned about accuracy. In addition to Sixx' suggenstions, you can try out watcheden.com or Aobobuy.com. Good luck, and post some pictures here if you buy one!
  22. You can check out the Abercrombie&Fitch parkas jackets on www.Aobobuy.com I have not bought the jackets, but his other A&F stuff has good quality.
  23. Here is my Ploprof on "Suppa Mesh". It was a very reliable performer... for four days.. Then it went totally dead. The seller was helpful, and I returned it. At the moment it seems to be stuck in Chinese inbound customs (for 16 days).
